So I've been playing Mobius for about a week now and there are still some things I don't understand.

Sometimes my 3* Lv4 Heca Debarrier lasts for 5 turns, other times it lasts for 2 turns. What could be causing it to last for half the proper duration?

How do you tell if an enemy is Sicarius Imperator, Sicarius Bestia, attack-guard, or support-guard?

If the enemy uses barrier, they will cancel out and remove your debarrier, which is what I'm guessing is happening. You can have enhanced ailments that can only be removed with an enhanced boon. You might have seen some hexagonal-shaped status effects, those are enhanced.

If you go to create a party, below the boss's name is a little icon. Hover over that and it will tell you the boss type. Not sure if there's an indicator for guard type.

I actually ran the numbers last night. CoD's max possible attack non TM is 296, right?

So her Barrage does ((296^2)/DEF) * 3.2 damage. Against a foe with 10 defense, she'll do ((296^2)/10) * 3.2, which totals to 28037.

Fencer's max non-TM attack is 371. Against the same foe she'll do ((371^2)/10) * 2.1 damage with Piercing Blow, which totals to 28904.

Fencer does more. Just by a bit though.

Fuck, you're right. I messed up the calcs on her attack, she can actually hit 373 maximum. I was putting her way lower for some reason.

Fencer has 120 base attack (144 with her innate +20%)
She gets 14 from Tiger Mask and 8 from Black Belt Gi.
She gets 53 from a max Ifrit and 82 from the enhancer.
She gets 12 from each hero ring, and 12 more from our one ATK+10% materia.
She gets an additional +30% of her base attack from having a sword equipped (adds up to 36)

I messed up that last part and it lowballed her hard. She can do exactly 4.1219% MORE damage than CoD per turn.

Enemies do have some degree of resistance to ailments, indicated by the word "resisted" that appears when the ability hits*

This doesn't outright prevent them from getting that ailment, but does reduce the number of turns it persists. This is one of the reasons why stun abilities are useless in multiplayer as all the bosses move more than once and at most you're only taking one action away from them for just one turn.

*Do not confuse this from when it says "guard". Guard means they resisted the ailment completely and wont be affected by it. This usually happens when you try to inflict an ailment right after it wears off on an enemy, as there is a period of turns on which they become immune to that ailment.

Ifrit actually maxes at 53 ATK with all the nodes, so it's most definitely true.

His ATK stat gain falls off very rapidly in the last 10 levels. I think he gains 100 full points after every 5 or so.
I've had a 52ATK ifrit since he was 35 is all I know.

It's not Banishing Blade, it's just Dispel. It does not deal Holy Damage and that is its biggest downside. Beatrix BSB also outshines it in terms of being a good Sentinel BSB, its the Retaliate that people would turn to Gilga for.

Beatrix's BSB is only better if you have other great Holy SBs to take advantage of it.

Beatrix BSB has a RENEWABLE Sentinel, unlike Gilgamesh, and can buff the RES of the person now attracting all the black magic. It has Imperil, which is better than Attach, and makes any party that contains at least one more Knight, regardless of SB or not, instantly better, while helping Beatrix herself with charging her next SB and making her stronger when using Banishing Strike, which you very likely have Holy boosting equipment for aswell.

All Gilga has is the Retaliate, and technically Dispel if youre somehow not running Banishing Blade on your Knight. Not to mention Beatrix having a BSB will enable her to fill one slot with something like Shellga, thanks to her White Magic access, and make her even more useful to the party.
