Well, I actually try to talk to people on my friend's list. I usually just try to start conversation, offer to help in dungeons, or offer any of my crafting if they need it. Keep in mind that this can only be done under PB which is a 3-minute cooldown, but provided the tank is pulling huge, that on top of buffed Elixir Field and Howling Fist is a shitload of AoE. I rarely have PB up for bosses since I just use it to burn trash when I can.

You can choose the new race as soon as you start the game provided you have Heavensward.

I say go ahead and just get the base game anyway because after 30 days you get a fantasia.

If you're playing that long, you're most likely at 50 and ready to purchase heavensward anyway.
