How long does it take to build muscle memory for a pad/stick?

Late reply but to the Jam beginner who posted his vids:
I feel like you tried to incorporate too much stuff in your gameplay but can't do any of it well. It's better to take it step by step, incorporating one element at a time. Here's what you should start with Jam. Learn these two combos:
5K, 5HS, 2HS, 2D, 22S
5K, 5HS, 2HS, 2D, 623K, 214K, Land, 22S
The first one is to get you a card. The second you use when you have your card, because it makes 214K knockdown the opponent, letting you get another card then do it again. With both combos, the enemy is waking after you get your card. So dash toward them, close enough to hit with 5K but far enough they can't throw you, and kick them on their wakeup, do your combo, get your card, repeat.
This is of course really basic and predictable and will lose against anyone who can block low (So everyone except other beginners and the CPU) The point is that it's a foundation. Focus on getting your knockdown so that you get your combo setup. Don't worry if it gets blocked; the whole point is that once you're consistent with it you'll add another element to get around them blocking it. But it's useless to learn what to do when they block your 5K if you can't make them block it in the first place.

MKX is a complete game for less then SFV which at the moment isnt close to complete.

imo if you just want a casual game to mash with friends, MKX no question about it. If you want a "serious" game to play competitively then sf5 is most likely going to be alive for a long time while mkx is on a decline.

Be warned, avoid playing online at all times for SFV, if you dont have a local scene then dont even get it.

KOF is mainly what I'd say is debatable, on one hand, Nak and K'. On the other hand it's a team game and it has an enormous mid tier.

Now that SFV is fully out and it's gameplay has been evolving lately, it's turning out to be the quite complex game.

I know that it doesn't have flashy 10 minute rambu combos like favorite anime fighting game, but it has solid gameplay that true fighting fans love to love.
