I can't tell if the player is supposed to be Afton or not. Yeah you get those echo-y girl voice clips between the nights that insinuate a flashback and Baby/Ennard goading you about it, but at the same time it doesn't make any sense that he'd be actively working there as a custodian alongside other employees who'd have not freaked out more about him being kidnapped between night 3 and 4.

The eyes in the ending being purple aren't convincing either, since Purple Guy's eyes have always been white or light yellow, even as Springtrap.

I wanna say maybe it's another AU or some descendant of Purple Guy that shares the same name or, most likely, Scott is just retconning the shit out of everything again.

This is the sole reason I think we play as William in this game.

Firstly, Afton was never confirmed to have children AFAIK, but William had 2, Sammy and Charlotte.

Charlotte could be the pigtail girl from 4, who ends up being "eaten" by Baby. William could in turn be going to the SL in order to recover her body, or just generally wreck the place.

He then gets scooped, and "they" escape.

This would leave Afton to later die at the hands of the Spring Bonnie suit.

Also, there's the bit where Baby doesn't recognize you on the first day. If you were Afton, she most definitely would remember you as her creator. You'd also OWN the business, so you wouldn't need to pose as a maintenance guy.

There's little to no possibility we're playing as Afton/Purple.

it seems that the real/fake endings are meant to split the game between the book continuity and the games continuity. where the real ending is for the games, and the fake end is for the book.
the real ending makes sense to be the origin story of "purple" character being an animatronic in a suit of human skin (still debatable) and the fake ending gives closure to the story of ennard (charlotte).

what i'd like to see is now deciphering how the real ending actually fits in with the rest of the games story. i feel we're still missing a few pieces. for example, why were the animatronics programmed to kill to begin with?

Wait, so ennard pretends to be baby on the last night, right? And baby talks about something 'inside of' her being wrong previously (this is assuming that we're talking to baby then, and ennard isn't just fooling with us the whole time). My initial thought was that ennard was hiding inside of baby, but he's WAY too big to fit with baby's endoskeleton already in there. So the question is, where is ennard the first 4 days of the game?

Also, is ennard the one who grabs the mask usually hanging in the first room on night 5? Why does he need it? Wasn't baby already scooped at that point, with her body/suit/exoskeleton tossed on the floor?

I think it's just a color theme for the villains in the story to have purple in their design, not that it's literally purple guy.

Then there's the issue of purples death in 3. If he was just ennard in a skin suit, all the blood and organs we see in the hidden springtrap screens in 3 and gushing out when he dies wouldn't make sense. Hell how would the suit even hurt him or force him to sit in the place for 30 years. Damage him maybe, but not enough to trap him that long.

The entire series of FNAF takes place in a Westworld Style amusement park. I can't get past the segment in night 5 where you have to follow Baby's instructions in the dark.

I have no problem with the start however the moment she tells me to go forward and left I keep dying.

So we know for a fact Ennard was mimicking Baby's voice and behavior on night 5. His missing mask and that Baby was scooped when you already found her is proof of that. It's strongly implied that during her 'pretending' speech in night 4 that that's when Ennerd took over, it makes sense given you're inside her where her eyes and endo should be.

So should nights 1-3 be considered the true Baby? Killing a kid was a dick move, but if Ennerd was responsible for her behavior in Nights 4-5, a lovely quiche for Scott, he finally wrote a ghost robot that wasn't such an abhorrent dickbag that you wanted their soul to suffer.

In general I was happy to die at the end of SL. I felt like I kinda deserved it. The game makes you do some awful shit and kick a lot of robots (that are programmed to feel pain) while they're down. They lost their restaurant, only exist as a rental-by-day service (who knows what awful shit they are bought out for, this general is a good indication), and every night they get chaps like you to fry them with electrical discharges so the suffering never ends.

And then they all die, possibly very aware that Ennerd was going to use the guy blasting them with electricity as a suit to get out. They may have all been in on the act but I don't think they are, it seemed more like by hunting the Night Guard Foxy and Ballora were trying to keep Ennerd in.

SL, for all the comedy, feels far more hopeless than FNAF4 could ever dream of being.

As for the Shadow animatronics? I don't believe they were brought up again even in FNAF world (correct me if I'm wrong) so it's possible those were hallucinations. God knows what Golden Freddy is though.

Spoilering so I don't set off anyone who hasn't played with it yet, but I believe Ennard was just pretending that Ballora was around in order to get you to the Scooping Room. In one of the nights where you get kidnapped by 'Baby' you're told that you're in the Scooping Room, and then you see Ballora wheeled in via the conveyor belt. Then her sprite jerks once, twice, three times before it completely goes slack and her eye pops out (and this is where the marionettes start trying to kill you).

Then when you DO get into the Scooper Room, Ennard reveals that all the other animatronics had been scooped already, including Baby. You can see her parts there.

Baby talks to you about how she was on stage and she used to love seeing the children, and how there's something in her programming that makes her count how many children there are and do something special when there's only one in the room. It's what the ice cream minigame shows, where she puts down ice cream to get the girl to come close then she grabs her and drags her inside the suit and kills her.

Baby only did it once and she says she doesn't understand why it happened. It's really neat but I have no idea how it fits in with anything else.

Pretty sure Scott has the big plot points of each game written down, adds in some crazy things to complicate those events, then says fuck it and calls it a day. The crazy shit has added up into nonsense and instead of fixing it, he's letting it happen because it adds to the "mystery" of the story. It's the smarter option really, why work to connect everything and reveal the story when it might kill discussion of the series? Better to just ride the money train until it crashes

You play as him. You get scooped, Ennard becomes your INNARDS and goes on a killing spree.

This explains the differences between Pink Guy and Purple Guy, Pink Guy was a normal looking human, but Purple Guy has a bulkier body and white pupils, they are both Afton before and after Ennard.

This explains how he was able to destroy the animatronics in FNAF 3, he has super strength.

He churned this out because FNAF world bombed. As much as I wanted to love this one I feel he's jumped the shark with the story and has sacrificed gameplay for intrusive cutscene-like linear segments.
