using smurth's dynamic hud and wearing a tactical helmet; any idea why putting on the helmet alone, without enabling nightvision, makes nights look a noticeable deal brighter to me? It's like mini-night vision just from wearing the helmet, and I doubt it's intentional.

Shooting them out of your main weapon is much more practical though, no switching and preparing to throw, no delayed detonation, just press V and left click to blow up what you look at.

I agree, that's why I like OWR since it does a better job of keeping that feel, not perfect but better. I think the roaming patrols don't work so well in cordon since the stalkers/bandits run into the military often.

that's what I'm searching for, too. It's pretty simple. Overlays tend to take the forms of .dds files named:
helm_Xy.dds

Where X is the type of helmet (either battle, exo, hardhat, protective, respirator, scientific, or tactic) and y is a number from 1-12 (there will almost always be 12 per helmet type for damage, etc). For example: helm_exo1.dds

They'll be in gamedata\textures\ui.

You can just drop the ones from misery in there after installing smurths, overwrite, and they'll work.

But it seems all overlays have a glass texture; I understand they're going for immersion, but the glass rarely looks good and it usually fucks up colors a bit, especially at night. I'm also trying to find a transparent one; if anyone knows where to look, that'd be great.

So I'm playing CoC 1.4.0.7 and I am having an issue with the GUI. Whenever I load a new area or reload a save the option to select "Trade" in dialogue is "blocked" (I am unable to highlight over the trade button with the cursor). Also, the setting "Protrait by outfit" never seems to stick whenever I apply the setting , requiring me to open the options menu and click "Apply" every time I load a save or a new area. So basically when I open options and click "Apply" after loading a save or area I am able to click "Trade" and the "Portrait by Outfit" setting works, but only when I do this everytime I load save or area. Has anyone experienced this problem?

Well the main issue is the "portrait by outfit" not sticking. But both problems are temporarily alleviated when clicking options and apply. The problem is I have to do this everytime I loaf a save or new level.

An example of this is say helping the monolith at the freedom checkpoint at the army warehouses by killing the freedom defenders, then wiping out the freedom base, and purging any more freedom you find along the way.

The AO3 addon added an additional character_desc_general_ao3/ao or whatever, which controlled the loadouts after you installed AO3. But that file is no longer there, which means the loadouts are being handled by another file, however I have no fucking clue where this file is now. character_desc_general (where the loadouts should be in the file) are completely blank.
