That's fixed. The radar display works like it's supposed to as well. You're still not going to see shit at low altitude though but I think that's working as intended because the radar is really bad about ground clutter.

No idea haven't touched it since the release.

Only when the up-engined tall tailed G6 A/S, G-10, 12, 14 and K series came into production were experimental revisions made to the tall tail rudder configuration, including one type with one trim tab, one with two trim tabs and both types with Flettener tabs to improve responsiveness.

Even then most 109's still used the simpler counterbalance design because it was cheaper and more efficient to produce.

>Pig related, a late Bf-109 from JG-53 with the most common configuration, a weight balance.

High ceiling overcast, not too windy and not too cold... think 9C, cloud density on 9 and precipitations as rain, winds pointing towards the Caucasus mountains.

As long as the camera can distinguish between all three dots it's fine. Obviously centring them is better as it gives you more room to move. Also if you happen to get really close to the camera, if the clip is not centred the camera thinks it's moving to the side.

Are the mig 15 and f86f modules for DCS World anything like the IL2 games or will i have to pour hours upon hours to manage to have some fun?

Can I just startup the plane with a single button and then fly missions or do I have to study how to use these machines besides just learning maneuvers?

Alright I love the MiG-15 and Sabre. Unfortunately though not a lot of people fly it so you'll be struggling to have something to do. On top of that there is only 1 official DLC campaign that you have to pay for that is kind of ace combat tier

Honestly just learn how to start both of them instead of this '1 button startup' Yes you can autostart them but it is retard level easy and faster just to manually do it. The Sabre literally has a 2 switch startup.

They are both great aircraft but like I said there's never anything to do with them because hardly anyone flies it.
>>
>>156461817
Okay thanks. Better move my lamp than. Its right behind me and it gets in the trackIR fov
>>
>>156463643
besides the DLC campaign are there any random missions that one can do?

Like say I got the mig 15 module, can't I just do random bomber intercept and such? All I really want is do some realistic combat missions with these planes. I like the IL2 games, but I mostly play BoS and War thunder. So all I'm looking for is some realistic and simple missions for them, no multiplayer dogfights.

thanks for the input anon
>>
>>156464450
There are some random instant action scenarios but they aren't dynamic.

The Sabre has some missions set up to mimic real dogfights from Korea too

>>
>>156466964
They are both equal levels of good. I have more fun with the MiG-15 and it has better guns, however the sabre can do more since it can carry the world's most shit missiles, rockets, and bombs compared to the MiG-15s just guns and bombs.

Just buy them off of kinguin:

https://www.kinguin.net/category/22280/dcs-f-86f-sabre-digital-download-cd-key/

https://www.kinguin.net/category/22281/dcs-mig-15bis-digital-download-cd-key/

The MiG-15 is cheaper if that helps.
>>
>>156467063
Well, BF2 engine didn't support gun sway.

To be honest, I like how I can point my MMG or AR, let it stabilize for 7 seconds and fuck over a whole squad. It's a charm.
>>

>>
>>156467063

>>

>>
>>156467956
was hoping that it had the F86F-2 oh well, close enough
>>
>>156468074

be aware that the 50s in DCS fucking suck and are shooting just AP and AP-T rounds.

Also don't rely on the GAR-8s/AIM-9Bs to kill anything other than non-maneuvering targets. I've killed a couple of Fagots that didn't see the launch with them, but they can be defeated by like a 3g turn

The thing is, they had a chance to have it done cheaper. Had they went forward without the obsession of trying to have a unified airframe (which they failed miserably, as the 3 variant no longer share much parts at all, and caused numerous compromises) or if they would actually finish developing the jet before putting it into production only to have extremely costly repairs/modifications to the jets that were already built.
at least this is what I've heard for the last while about the F-35A/B/C. Feel free to add or correct things that I might've missed or misunderstood

For modern fighters the real cost is not in the airframe (and by the way, the space taken by the VTOL capability in the B variant are used in the others for fuel) but in the engine and avionics. The F-35 shares an engine and avionics across all three variants and also is far more upgradable due to the software and hardware architecture used in the 35.
>>
>>156522148
Basically this means in the long term the F-35 fleet will be cheaper to operate because enough parts are compatible to be worth sharing between airframes and the engine and avionics are all identical.
>>
>>156522148
>>156522401
I might've read from some where that the part-share % is apparently very low. I suppose you got a point, but they should've finished developing before mass producing the jet and prevent costly modifications that are needed after the jets leave the production line.

Idiots thought they could somehow replicate the success of the Phantom, while not understanding why aircraft like it, the F-16 and 15 all became great multirole fighters, hint: none of them were designed to be the multirole fighters they later became from the start, they evolved from almost pure air superiority by design
>>
you guys sure know a lot about the combat performance of a plane that hasn't seen any combat. read the denmark report if you're still experiencing delusions of 4th gen aircraft being competitive with 5th gen aircraft.

>>156660465
which is why they're getting replaced by an aircraft that was actually designed to accommodate things like targeting pods and jammers from the start, instead of operating the aircraft in a way it wasn't built for. lobbing bombs from 45km away doesn't require the maneuverability of an f-16.
>>
>>156660465
Nah, I think it's like them trying to design a Harrier, F-16, and F/A-18 from one unified design while only allowing minor changes instead of making 3 designs tailored to its services' requirements.

As anybody could probably tell, those 3 jets are very different and if those 3 distinct jets were forced to be design from 1 single design (or is required have extremely similar looking exterior), they probably would've been very shitty due to countless compromises needed to achieve something foolish and non-mission related.
>>
>>156661594
Not the anon you're replying to.
Understand that I am not saying it is a piece of crap or it's shit or "look! It got outperformed by a 4th gen jet!"but instead I'm saying all of this could've been done much less expensively and maybe have better performing jets at the same time if they didn't cared how the jets looked (or how similar the jets looked) and just focused on designing jets tailored to the variant's customers' (AF/Navy/Marines) needs. Even then, they could still save cost by requiring same engine and avionics in the 3 different designs.

There is nothing stopping them from making a carrier capable f35 that also fits the other two branches. The F18 is basically that already, the army has some, other nations without aircraft carriers use them, that's how it's done.

Don't know about the Lagg-3 but the Yak-9 did have massive problems with its big cannons. The 37mm variant caused oil and coolant leaks from shooting and the 45mm version had to go at least 350 kmph or face loss of control (and it tossed the pilot around a bit). I imagine the Lagg-3 had similar problems with the 37mm.

How do you even play video games or watch movies if you're epileptic? The warnings make it sound like dudes with epilepsy can't do anything or else they have a seizure and die.
>>
>>156688823
Ah see, I have a better (worse?) version where it's not photosensitive - which is good, because I'd just kill myself if I couldn't use anything related to flashing lights - but it's unknown what DOES give me seizures - which is shit, since it means we can't directly stop it from happening yet.
I've had scans that show I haven't got brain cancer or anything particularly obvious in my head, so I'm not gonna die horribly as of yet. I just have seizures occasionally for no obvious reason.

Personally I think it's something to do with blood flow to my head, either sugar or pressure levels.

How come superior british unis all have shit tier internet while shitty east european unis have god tier internet?
>>
>>156691635
because the british internet infrastructure was made when the internet was being made , which means they have fuck all for high bandwidth and have outages every other week, while eastern europe had their lines installed when communism fell. so eastern europe has better cabling infrastructure with relatively higher bandwidth and noones gonna bother digging up cables in england since that would outweigh the benefits of higher bandwidth.
>>
>>156691635
Alot of our lines are still copper and with BT(The ones who put down the line) owned by the gov. So most WIFI companys have to buy the rights to use the lines or pay the money to replace all the copper with fiber.
>>
actually it was even later than the 90s when internet was widely available for the masses, at least in poland. i grew up with 0 internet, and noone in my commieblock district had it until like 2004+ which was when i left for bongland.

will playing simulators make understand how to fly planes more? I was thinking of getting into aviation because Im a failure and havent done much with my life in the twenty years I've existed

I like planes but know nothing about them. Was considering getting into the airforce because the Canadian Military pays for your education.

I have also watched Top Gun fifty too many times.

Also, what is a recommended simulator for civilian aircraft and for military aircraft?
>>

where do you think you will get the money for a PPL and other commercial pilot qualifications and training? its 10k+ for commercial pilot courses. alternatively if you want to join your local air force, are you physically fit and completely healthy? remember if you are colourblind you fail, for jets if youve ever had a bone fracture you fail (dont want that to re-break under high G), not even mentioning 20/20 eyesight without glasses (depends on country)

as for flightsims prepar3d and fsx are good for civ aircraft, especially if you play vatsim. for military dcs is okay if you wanna fly an a10 or a mig21 :) alternatively bms for the falcon but youre never gonna get into fighter jet school

Tales of /дa бoйз/ anon here

Due to some personal issues, I won't be able to progress with the campaign tomorrow at the usual time, so for this Saturday I'll schedule ops for the remaining 3 or so missions. Given how fast the previous missions have been, doing the rest of the campaign in this weekend is a very feasible thing I think. If anyone missed the past 2 ops, we have managed to play through episodes 0 to 4. This Friday would be a good time to host that shit if anyone missed. The latest campaign download is available at the pastebin as per usual.

So far I've liked the reception and reactions, they were pretty much what I had in mind. Also I'd like to remind that this first run has a pretty big debugging purpose. Once everything is bug fixed and checked, the download will be updated.

Simple as they are, the missions are meant for a quick filler ops and historical purpose after that.

>tl;dr

remember that most modern air forces have thousands of applicants to sift through and very few actual aircraft because they dont need to spend money because they have the us world police force to protect them. they only get the best of the best of the best because they have so few positions to fill. but i heard the us air force doesnt have enough pilots to man their shit, so i guess you can try. or you can try to get into flying heaps of scrap in a c130 or c17 or your regional equivalent. alternatively try aircrew, maybe youll get lucky and youll get loadmaster which aint a bad job.

alternatively alternatively just sign the fuck up as a grunt

i shouldve wrote 20/20 uncorrected. depending on country you can try after laser eye surgery but the RAF for example doesnt accept laser eye surgery applicants.

all of this is not even mentioning other medical tests. in the polish air force no joke your entire body and all functions are tested, from eyes, ears nose and throat, through brain scans, bodyfat measurements all the way to blood and urine tests, g cabin tests and low pressure chambers.of course, any bad thing in all those scans usually means youre uneligible to even start training in the airforce officer academy. therefore washout rate through medical reasons is usually anywhere from 70 to 90 percent.

If you want to get into the RCAF as a pilot you need to research the recruitment process and get all your ducks in a row. Its not as easy as strolling to your local recruitment center and saying I want to be a pilot. Its extremly competitive and aircrew selection is a big hurdle. You can prepare for it but its not flying related (you need good mental math, problem solving, time/distance formula ect). It took me 9 years to finally get pilot (it was academics that held me back).

Getting into flight simulators isn't really going to help you (and it may hurt you in some cases) because you are learning at your own pace and at your own standards (which will be much more lax then the military's). When you do flying training you will be taught how they want you to fly. If you want to get something, just grab a cheap FC3 module like the F-15 or the Su-27 and just play it like a video game while it gives you some basic background knowledge.

The Mi-8 is a difficult aircraft to startup, lots of switches and shit, and forgetting some steps isn't evident until you're in the air and suddenly lose all electrical power.

The gazelle just has shit ground handling atm (no animated skids and the friction between the ground and the helo is pretty ridic so you can't ever really feel yourself get light on the skids) and it's the only helo in DCS right now with proper engine thermal modelling, so you have to be careful how much torque you pull and how long you do that for.

I've played a fair few flight sims, lots of tactical shooters and even a couple of tank simulators.

Besides a bit of silent hunter, I've never touched the naval aspect, and am wondering if there are any recommended naval simulators.

Couple of caveats; recently made is preferable, no age of sail (WW2/Cold War/Modern is preferable), and single player.

CMANO (which is a tad too complex in terms of managing a thousand menus) or Jane's Fleet Command (which is a great game, like a simplified CMANO, but shows its age) might be as close as I can get.

On a semi-related note, are there any good reads or watches for naval combat, I don't have a clue about the functionals of any naval vessels really (destroyers, light/heavy cruises, battle cruisers, battleships. I can guess how carriers fit into the larger battle picture but even subs I don't know their doctrine, especially modern, non-WW2 convoy raiding)

You're a good person. Sometimes it might seem hopeless. Sometimes you might feel overburdened. But that wont stop you. You will find something in life that makes you happy. Something that allows you to feel a part of something important. Everyone starts out without knowing what they're good at, or what they really like. But you're a good person and everything you do will be great, because you did it, and you are wonderful.

Good on you m8.

IDK from where you are, but find something that you want to do (realistic of course, and not something like a f-22 ace pilto superstar) and just work toward it.
Also find a good gf, if you aren't good with women, and have decent looks, just don't be a creeper and just talk your mind out with whoever you are hitting on.
And finally don't read shit like pol and whatever reddit bullshit there is about women, while there is some truth it's basically all LARPing.

Dude.

That resolution on that roundel is pretty bad, i mean just compare that to the red star, there's a huge difference.

Here's actual resolution, also if you use EDs emblem file.

Disregard this.
