Yeah, I'd agree with that, Miyano and Hoshi stole the show. Sugita was inoffensive, but the women really dropped the ball with the exception of Yuuki. I was really skeptical of Mizuki's performance from before the game released and my fears were confirmed, she just sounds too old in my opinion. Otani also is really inconsistent with her voice, Morgana sounds feminine a lot and then becomes more masculine.

I know persona has become popular for waifus but I really wouldn't be upset to see SLs go (or given less priority or written in a way so it's relevant to the plot somehow). It screws up the pacing and makes it hard to write in a more ambitious story a la P2. We get chunks of optional 'filler' until the next major event happens and then it's like 2 hours of cutscenes followed by more filler and repeat.

I honestly don't mind that. What bothers me is that it looks like big story scenes aren't voiced at all, and that sometimes the game will alternate between voiced and unvoiced really quickly. I'm actually hoping that Atlus USA tries to add more VO to the localization and that Atlus Japan is willing to reprogram the game for that. But Atlus Japan is just as bad as Falcom when it comes to VO, and XSeed was already turned down when they asked if they could add more VO to Cold Steel.

Agree about Aoi. She was fantastic and Futaba is one of those characters that really play to her strengths as a performer.
To be honest I can see why some people were complaining about Nana as Anne, but it seems like a miscasting issue more than anything.
Sato Rina did an amazing performance as Velvet in Berseria but here she sounds underwhelming in comparison.
Morgana I have no major issues with and Haru is whatever. Not too bad but not too great.

The way I see it is these characters are supposed to be people in their own right regardless of the story, and their S Link (if written well) shows that. I'll agree that too often a character is pushed aside with no need to ever speak to them again after their S Link is done, which is why I think it's optimal to get character development both from social links and the main plot. So really biggest criticism for the cast is that it has a lot of typecasting and pretty much just trying to appeal to seiyuu fags but drawing in the most popular compared to P3 and P4 which mostly stuck with veterans and people who fit the characters (though P4 is also guilty of exploiting popular seiyuu like Ami and Rie though its nowhere near as obvious).
