Welcome bundle turned out pretty well for me. I got Cenarius - which I didn't have yet - as the legendary. Also got a Twisting Nether from the packs (and a duplicate Ysera). Overall it was worth about 3,000 dust to me (2,000 saved on Cenarius and Twisting Nether, 1,000 gained from dusting cards).

tl;dr unless we get good taunts and healing, Aggro hunter, zoo warlock, aggro/pirate warrior will be kings of the aggro lineup.
Expect ooze to once again come back to counter hunter and warrior.
basically, how it used to be with except

1) rogue is in an even worse state then it was in vanilla.
with both less aggro tools, no high damage board clear, only combo is coldblood faceless and less uses on gadgetzan.
2) Paladin has extreme levels of healing and survivablity. but fewer ways to deal with midrange and bigguys at the same time.
3) Hunter will push forward a sticky deathrattle type now that its main opponents have been eliminated and some of its newer face/removal cards are gone.

Cthun will make a comeback as will Nzoth. Yogg will begin to die out as there are less and less useful spells and spell generators.

Also its safe to say that while we joke that karazhan o gvg was the worst expansion, the reality is that TGT was the most cancerous of them all.

Losing it means we lose out on fun decktypes, but keeping it forces this meta which, besides the old miracle meta and undertaker metas, has been the worst.
Its mechanics were the most poorly designed and thats saying something after going through gvg.

Most likely whatever comes out of the next expansion or the one after that will become the new meta unless they fuck up on astronomical levels

People don't realize how shitty the game is going to be from now on for F2P.
The only reason F2P could somehow catch up until now, is because TgT is complete and utter shit.
You can barely count the good cards from TgT on one hand, and there are no "must have" cards.

Since old gods have some really good cards and some of them are must have, once the new expansion comes out, F2P players that are still catching up to WotG are going to be 1.5 expansions behind, instead of 0.5.

From my experience, a F2P player can catch up to about 0.75~0.5 of an expansion before a new one comes out, not counting on adventures.

TL;DR since TgT is complete shit F2P players could just skip it and catch up on WotG, if the new expansion isn't shit you are fucked.

You're gonna have to put 100-200 into it to get started, that's just how it is man. For anyone with a job this really isn't a problem especially if you intend on playing it for a long time.

If you can only play cheap games pick up Rocket League, during the big steam sales it usually goes as low as $5 and you get 100% of the whole game and no RNG, just make sure you have a controller to play it with (I use an Xbox 360 controller on PC personally).

Only ever spent $5 on the game for the welcome bundle because it was a great deal but otherwise f2p, but I started during naxx release where they gave you the first wing for free.

Look up some free to play guides on youtube. The Hearthstone youtube scene is actually very noob-friendly and though it probably wont help you play at the highest level, it's a great start. Try looking up builds of Zoo, Tempo Mage and Midrange hunter, or just work or if you don't like constructed right now use heartharena to help you get started in playing arena and grinding gold that way.

You can get by being mostly free to play, but I'd really recommend just buying the expansions instead of saving up gold for them.
