I'm 1.7k in ranked, but I get around 2.5k-3k matches in normals
needless to say, I get much better quality matches in normals than I do in ranked, but I still want to get my mmr higher to see if it gets any better

Drow has fucking 55% winrate in 4k-5k and I can see why. Fucking obnoxious hero she is. She's so durable with a couple supports behind her and a few items, like hurricane pike, it's hard to actually get her. She can stand and hit towers freely and she does it well. She basically just pushes your shit in and kills heroes to the point where you're locked in your base, and then it's over. She does what everyone in 4k needs to to, push hard and be agressive.

God damn that hero. Hope she gets gutted next patch.

Usually I get arcanes, vlads, mek for GG boots and cuirass. Piling compatible auras on atrophy is ridiculously strong and makes the most of the damage boost.

Will probably build pipe if magic damage ever becomes a problem, but it usually doesn't since the carries can deal with them.

I'm playing 4.1k but I can't seem to do it right. So much is decided at draft, not "WAH ITS OVER I FEED" amounts, but players are overall DECENT, so the team with the more aggressive pushing draft wins. Drow has 100% winrate vs me, and I don't know how to play her myself. I try to ban Omni but to no avail.

I have to find heroes that work. I have to learn what heroes are good depending on what heroes are banned. I have to learn what team can first get to the enemy rax and push uncontested due to their superior draft.

I just reached a breaking point. I've never abandoned a game before (1,500 games) and my behaviour score has been 9k for a long time. But last game I played with such fucking imbeciles who I can't believe have functioning brains in their skulls, I told them all to kill themselves, abandoned, and uninstalled the game. I've literally never raged at the game before. I'm probably going to avoid playing until the new patch/hero

One of the things Purge said was that Slack's team is immune to rage, and I can absolutely see that being true. The reality is that someone throwing a fit can and does lose games that should be won. If Slacks through his personality and communication style is able to disarm that, then he saves those games that would be lost.

People joke about the PMA meme, but being able to get your team to win games that would be lost, or stopping them from throwing games that should be won is valuable at all skill levels and directly related to your ability to climb rankings.

One annoying thing I notice about the majority of 3ks is they are ignorant and delusional. Like, you literally don't know what's going on in front of your face.. and you talk shit, or talk about how the game is over, with this deluded perspective and giving a false retelling of events that just occurred. This stuff seriously only serves to make people tilt. Totally unnecessary.
I just smurfed on my friend's 3k account as anti mage, my shaman left me solo 1v2 after about 7 minutes vs pudge and windranger, I ended up having a 16 minute battlefury. I got flamed for farming as anti-mage, people are constantly calling gg even though the game is 100% winnable, and my shaman even complained that someone on my team picked nyx support. Like who gives a fuck dude? Just play to win. Stop bitching so much about what you can't change. There's nothing wrong with nyx support in the first place.
I feel so sorry for anyone who is currently trying to climb out of 3k. It's seriously hellish to play with a bunch of delusional, ignorant crybabies that seemingly want to stop playing just because we're not 50 - 0, yet ignoring it's 30 minutes and alch only has a radiance, armlet and brown boots!
