Bait moves that get his head down and smack him on the dome, or if you're an arc build just throw brews or moonbeams at his head. When he gets to phase three, slip up under his crotch and wait for him to jump, then step over to a little past where the end of his tail was and he'll land right over you, and you can hit him on the chin once or twice depending on how fast your weapon is.

He's actually really easy once you get everything down, you just need to be patient.

Lady Maria fight is pretty fun. She kept wrecking my shit when I tried to parry spam, so I popped Old Hunter's Bone and fought her legit.

This game could have really done with a boss rush mode in one of the chalice dungeons or something.

It's all in the spacing. He only does certain moves when you're a certain distance away- or he's more likely to use them, at least. So you need to get at a distance where he'll use big slammy moves and then you get in with a running heavy, since the Axe gets an overhead if I'm remembering right.

Hey guys, I want to recreate my DaS1 pvp build as much as possible, I know that the BB meta is different, and it's been a couple of months since I played so right now I bet what I remember is outdated as fuck, so I'd like some help.

Basically my DaS1 build went like this

Ricard's rapier (So Reitherpallasch is a must)
Pyro flame

Parry Dagger
Darkmoon talisman

Hornet's ring
Flip Ring


Black Flame to fuck with shields
WotG as a oh fuck button
Darkmoon blade because muh damage
Great Magic Barrier to tell magic users to fuck off

I had like 10 vit and the rest was in DEX/END/FAI to do as much damage as possible.

So as you can see I'd like to be able to deal as much damage with buffs, but also have magic to fuck with what people use the most (black magic, shields for example in DaS1).

Empty Phantasm Shell and Beast Roar to replace Darkmoon Blade and WotG I guess? I know that the Reitherpallasch allows you to be able to use other shit in your off hand since the trick mode lets you also parry, what could I use for utility then? Rosemary? Tonitrus?

Waste of Skin: 40/9/10/50/10/50 would leave you at 119. If you want to go lower you could take some points off of Vitality but I wouldn't recommend it. Hunter Pistol is still decent, you won't get much damage with it but it's better for parries than Blunderbuss in my opinion. If you want damage out of your guns then a BMA Repeating Pistol would do okay damage.

You don't need much Endurance, especially for something like the Reiter, because individual attacks and dodging need way less stamina than in Dark Souls. The only time you should increase it is if you're using a heavy weapon, and even then it's not entirely necessary.

Yeah, only put points into End if you have nothing else to spend them on. Besides, you can get a 15% up Stamina rune from the base game and a 20% from chalices, so there's no need to have it higher than base, especially for pvp.

You won't get one-shotted even with the best gems as long as you have 40-50 Vitality. Like I said before, low stamina consumption and stamina runes means Endurance is kinda useless, basically a luxury/dump stat. Vitality and damage is way more important.

Only one weeb katana in the game. You're probably thinking of the Rakuyo, which is a pretty overpowered weapon. Consider putting some points into strength to use the HMLS, it's pretty powerful and though it mainly scales with strength, skill will do fine as well. Burial Blade is a pretty fun skill weapon, though its Arc scaling is shit and only exists to stop you from buffing it. Accursed Brew is great for combos with the glove.

Glass Cannon builds aren't as viable in this game as they were in the Souls games unless you were Twinking. Get Vitality to at least 40, don't bother with the Evelyn and 50 Bloodtinge if you want to work with Skill for Reiter and Arcane for Hunter Tools. Just do 40/9/10/50/10/50.

If you wanted really high damage then get 18 Strength for the Stake Driver and 50 Arcane to convert it to fire. Throw Oil Urns at shit and use the tricked charged R2s. Just don't be a goober and get sub-40 Vitality, we've had a couple in our FCs and they did real poorly.

50 Bloodtinge just for the Evelyn and some damage on Reiter shots is dumb when you've got Arcane tools. Just roll with the Repeating Pistol for damage instead. Convert whatever pure physical weapon to fire and throw oil urns if you don't want to use the Stake Driver, Rakuyo and Beasthunter Saif are some good options. The bowblade is indeed very good, suffers a bit from the untransformed being a bit mediocre unless you go full 50 skl, but it is good. The arrows do a lot of damage and it is a really good weapon for ranged cheeses.

It is also very good against amgydala because he takes bonus damage to the head, and even more when his head breaks. A ranged weapon like the bowblade or the hmls R2 allows you to get as much hits in before he heals his head as possible

Nothing worse than Cursed, that's for certain. Fetid and Rotten don't really do anything, the main opponent in FRC Chalices is the Cursed modifier.

so how exactly does Slow and Rapid Poison on Weapons through Blood Gems exactly work, several of my weapons have Slow Poison as a secondary effect, and I put two Rapid Poison gems on an Uncanny Saw Cleaver I recently found in a random Pthumerian Labyrinth I made, but the Poison effect never seems to activate, anyone know what's up with that?

Tonitrus is not a fucking left-handed weapon you shit.

If you have the DLC, the Accursed Brew is good, it requires 30 arc though. It works like a molotov that deals curse.

There are no other good skl/blt weapons, but BoM is good for skil/arc, and so is the Burial Blade. I think you might enjoy them. I also like the Rifle Spear too, could work with your playstile as a ranged weapon with good area and long-distance thursts.

Don't bother with early poison gems that give like 4 or whatever. Most enemies have a bar like yours that'll proc them if you hit them enough, some enemies are purely resistant though.

Slow Poison is the poison you experience from Blood-Starved Beast and poison lakes. Rapid Poison is like Frenzy-lite and Bleed from the Souls games. Only gems that are worth using are ones that have +10-20, they stack. Logarius Wheel multi-hits are great for poison gems, Chikage tricked has 30 Rapid Poison so you can stack some Rapid Poison gems on it. Slow Poison is eh, better for pressure. You end up playing so cautiously that the extra damage stats you have are irrelevant. Trust me, I have a character with a fully gemmed HMS (requires fighting FRC Amy) that has 10 VIT. I've won a total of one proper PVP match ever. And even doing PvE you waste so much time standing back that you'd kill stuff quicker with less damage stats and enough health to take a hit because you can get in there and do combo's. Rally mechanic doesn't do shit if your Already Dead.

Unless you are knowingly doing a meme-build, you need vitality. It's equally important as END was in DaS1.

It absolutely pains me that there will never be a bloodborne 2.

I absolutely loved this game, it had the best music, it had the best gameplay, it had the best atmosphere and ambience, it had the best boss fights everything about it was just so perfect. I even loved the challenge dungeons despite them making me want to kill myself.

The only weapon worth putting poison gems on is the Wheel, since a single multihit attack can proc it depending on thier armour and endurance (which means it's good against bbg players who all have 12 END).

It's always more effective to just use damage gems though, but poison can scare the shit out of people because no one ever uses it. You can tell when it's almost proced because they back off. I have a character with a poison wheel, for fun, but also a Flat Arc wheel and I switch once the opponent thinks they know what I'm doing. They won't mind trading hits with poison if they know it won't fill the bar, but they actually end up trading with 3 Flat Arcane gems each hitting 3 times.

The meta here is 98, going to 117 to be on the absolute end of the invasion range of 98s is seen as a scummy move. You have 19 more levels over your opponents. Normally it's not a big deal because the benifits from those 19 levels are minimal. You're a shitter, but it's tolerable. More often than not, it just lets you use more things, and doesn't make any one weapon hugely better.

However, on a HMS build those points don't just add some endurance, or let you use a few more weapons by reaching requirements. Instead it gives you 111 extra AR. A 98 build vs a 117 build both using HMS is horribly unfair to the 98. You're a shitter with a huge damage increase, and it's just a really scummy thing to do.

I think you're missing the point. 117 builds are problematic in FCs, where everyone else agrees to certain standards and general ettiquete. Using a 117 build is within the parameters of the game, but against the etiquette of a bbg FC because of the innate advantages a 117 has over a 98.

That being said, HMLS builds are really the only ones that will make or break a fight based on level difference. Everything else just benefits from being able to use one or two more weapons, which is not a big deal.

People started making 117s in order to have a hefty advantage against 98s in FCs while also being able to say "nah dude I'm definitely not at the upper end of the FC range! Look I'm 3 levels under it!"

You can make the argument that you want to be able to invade 98s outside of FCs and still be able to invade 150s while also allowing yourself to be invaded by 120s, but this is done by simply moving up to 100

Not to mention the fact that 98s were not only an extreme minority in the bloodborne playerbase, but they were also primarily used for invading, not hosting invasions, rendering the whole invading downward excuse somewhat moot
Ultimately, with how low of a chance you have to invade a 98 from your totally-not-120 character outside of a FC, it only looks as though you want the advantage without the old and somewhat outdated stigma of being 120

I mean, I played at 116 for a while. I liked 125, but the /bbg/ fc was 80-120. I figured I could stick to 120, but I'd get a bit more activity if I went to 116, since I'd be able to invade 98s as well as get invaded by them.

If I just wanted as much advantage over 98s as possible while staying within the 80-120 range, why go to 116/117? The best thing to do would be to go to 120 and just let people invade me.

117 exists because people prefer 120 over 100, but are willing to sacrifice 3 stat points in order to get more activity in /bbg/ FCs. It's no different than if you had BL 100 players in a 80-120 FC, and then some 120 players showed up.

If you're going to connect to someone in an FC within each other's invasion range, it's a tossup in regards to whether you'll be the invader or the host

As far as I'm aware, from the many times over the course of a year that I've gotten connection-locked against people outside of 98's range (sub-80s that I could not invade, and likewise 120s that could not invade me), all moving to 120 will do is eliminate the coin flip in terms of who is invading who, but if all you're after is fighting someone, it shouldn't make a difference

I don't think proximity affects priority, but it feels like being able to invade OR be invaded increases the rate at which you can get matches. At least, when I'm PvP'ing I will often get a flip-flop effect, where I'll invade, then be invaded, then invade, etc. If that's the case, then being in range to invade somebody will increase the activity you get.

I could be wrong about that, though. Maybe it doesn't make a difference, and all the 117 players might as well go 120.

I kind of like the idea of gemming up and running around with nukes that could 2 or 3 shot people in duels, it adds more uncertainty and high stakes to duels when you know one fuck up could cost you half your health. In invasions as well, vials are hyper fast so it's nice to be able to finish off people quickly.
