Some of these have extra gold left over for a boots 1 or some pots, but that's not really important. Movespeed isn't really relevant in XTM, except maybe a winged blade.

I haven't played any hunters, or in-hand mages, guardians, or assassins yet, so I'm not sure about them. But I do know that Urchin is very valuable, in that you can stack it by the second round and the stacks keep.

People who don't build qinns are baffling to me. With round like Arachne or Nox or Loki with their enormous HP bloat, qinns make those rounds trivial. Crit is useless without power and extra crit chance and you don't have the gold to get that going, crit is for late game builds and this puts you mid game.

Other roles are better off with beads or aegis for defensive relics. The guardian gets Shell because the guardian gets Ritual Dagger, and RD doesn't effect med. Yo can't control their fuckuos but you can pay attention and see it coming, and prevent it with a shell.

It always been adjusted by your elo. At the end of S1 when elo was still open to public I had ~1800 and that placed me into plat 3 during S2. Despite three man premades of huehues ruining me games I still recieved more TP for winning than losing so I would assume that ~1800 rating is around P2-D5. But smiteguru can be really different from your real elo so you can only look for how much your tp change from winning and losing matches and make judgement on what league is it trying to get you into yourself.

Buy items in the store when you have around 2k gold, finish your items too. I see alot of new players buy one item without finishing it. Just go to the "tree" of the item and the one with the checkmark is yours currently. If you're not entirely sure how to build items, just leave on auto buy until you're comfortable enough to do it on your own.
Get relics! They're free and only help you. I suggest Sanctuary (it leaves you immune to damage for 2s) or Meditation (heals alot of Mana and some HP).

As for gods, mix it up every couple of games. Try different classes and get a feel for what their specific abilities do. Make sure to read their abilities as it would give you insight next time you fight them/play them.

Game modes, since you're new you should try Arena, Joust or Siege. Assault is fun game mode as well. Conquest should wait until you're a bit more adapted to the game itself.

Been gone all week and haven't tried this new mode. What's the meta for Xing Tian's Mountain?

Obviously you could build other items, but a general point is to stay away from late game items such as Crit items, Polynomicon, soul reaver, sphere of desolation, (because they're both just so expensive) etc


There is no "best team comp" becuase there is always a round that a team comp with struggle with compared to other team comps, but the best thing is is to have a nice balance of Burst damage, Crowd Control and Crowd Controll Immunity . Never go full physical or full magical because of Colorful Triage, which I will explain later.

Artemis: Artemis has high inhand DPS as well as very valuable amounts of CC and CC immunity which help in every round. Her root and stun are fantastic for many rounds.

Cupid: Cupid has a stun and an AoE Slow/Mesmerize which is also great, and he can also keep his tanks healthy with his 2.

Hou Yi: Hou Yi has a good single target stun which also does more damage the lower their health is so it's great on round such as Behind You, Arachnophobia, Free Hugs, and Feel the Thunder. His Ultimate is also a huge damage AoE and sometimes slow which is also useful. His leap is also a knock up if you mark a target which can come in handy as well.

Izanami: Very similar to Artemis with her high inhand DPS, but she trades the CC immunity for an AoE silence nuke which is very valuable on most rounds. She also has a stealth which if you're accidently targeted by an enemy, you can quickly lose them

Medusa: Not as useful as the above hunters, but a well placed Ultimate can really change the flow of a challenge,

Neith: I personally woudn't pick Neith, but she can have some uses with AoE Roots and a stun, but her stun only targets gods so for some rounds, she's literally Ultless.

Every other Hunter is nto worth picking because they either are late game hunters or simply lack the CC (immunity) to reliably deal with the challenges

Mages are interesting. Most mages have appropriate burst and CC and grouping potential (such as Hades Ult), so instead, I'm going to list the Mages to NOT pick in Mountain, or just usually steer clear of.

Aphrodite: Aphrodite does have immunity, in which she can also apply to another god and decent amounts of CC, but she really lacks in burst damage since it;s late game. A lot of her damage is tick damage and if built tanky isn't as potent as other guardians/warriros

Chronos and Freya: Chronos and Freya are hyper carries, meant to get to late game. Since they can't get to late game, they're pretty much useless in this game mode.

Hel: you may think, "but hel has a heal" but the reason why I wouldn't choose her is because Warlocks Sash is banned for one, and she's fairly squishy so if she gets targeted by lets say Arache's pull in Arachnophobia or is the receipient of Loki's ults, she will die very very quickly. And healing isn't really so important as burst damage is.

Nox: Nox has a silence and a root/cripple but it's single target. She's very useful for some rounds, and dead weight for others so it's jsut too much of a risk to actually choose her.

Nu Wa: Nu Wa has high burst but also high cooldowns. She's okay, but there are much better picks than Nu Wa in this game mode.

Zhong Kui. Zhong relies too much on tick damage with his abilities and when you're limited on time on each challenge it can be pretty hard to actually utilize him to his fullest.

Amatarasu. Amatarasu does have a good ultimate with a long stun time, as well as her AoE power buff and speed buff help with kiting and the silence can be proven useful as well. She also can take advantage of Qin's Sais because of her good attack chain.

Erlang Shen: A great attack chain to abuse Qin's Sais as well as good amounts of CC that lock him down as well as a heal make Erlang a good choice.

Guan Yu: Guan is very tanky, shreads protections, has a great ultimate and am AoE heal. Guan is always a good choice and works for most rounds. His 3 also makes him knockup immune which is great for the Geb round.

Hercules: Hercules is a great tank and also has a great stun and can group enemies together easily.


Odin: Amazingly tanky, Great burst if need be and an anti healing cage that keeps enemies in and out. Odin is a fantastic pick.


>Assassins

Arachne: Arachne with the right team comp can melt certain challenges with combination of qins, her passive, and her 1.She can also keep the pressure off of her with her ultimate.

Bastet. Bastet is a decent choice for her high mid game damage, but pretty much does not have the CC, so she's an iffy pick. Only pick with a good team comp that has lots of CC.

Hun Batz: Hun Batz is useful for his AoE fear ult which can make some challenges trivial, and also has good damage. A good all round pick


Loki: In a similar position as Bastet. Worth noting for their high damage but lack of CC and CC immunity makes them troubling to pick.

Nemesis: Even if Nemesis only had access to her ultimate, she'd still be woth using. Her main attraction is her Ultimate, which absolutely shreads some rounds, but is also a good qins user.

Susano: High base AoE damage as well as CC make Susano a good pick.

Thanatos: His ultimate is fantastic for some rounds, his 1 is fantastic for others, and his penetration is fantastic for all the rest.

Thor: he has CC as well as damage.

I don't know why i have this terrible nagging feeling that smite Season 4 is gonna be the last.

Rolling Stones is the round where Geb splits into many gebs when he takes damage. Stuns, silences and cripples are very useful as they stop him from continiously rolling. Knockup immune abilitys are also great becuase theys top you from being interrupted.

Arachnophobia is an interesting round, because the spiders are only affected by inhand damage, which is why you need a good inhand on your team comp.. Qins is also useful here because of Arachne's bloated HP which Qins shreds.

Free Hugs is where Nox uses her 1. Her 1 is very special because if she is not interrupted or if you don't use purification/sanctuary or a CC immune ability/ultimate, she will hold that person down until they die, so use your CC and CC immunty once shes channeled on a person.

Furious Fire Giant is like Fire Giant except for every few attack he summons the pools which last much longer than usual. Having a few ranged characters is good for this as this keep less pools arouind is bas so that the close range characters can live long enough for the fire giant to die.

If you follow all of this, with randoms, you can at least make it past round 5 so you can get your treasure chest that contains an avatar picture. VVGL and VVGF and all that junk.

Geb is odd becuase he's great on some rounds but complete shit on others. He's worth a mention but I usually wouldn't pick him over Ares and Ymir which provide more value for overall more rounds.

That's a really grandoise way of saying "I don't know anything but I'll pretend that I do". Medusa performs a lot better as an auto attacker. She has a build in make shift hfat and a basic attack steroid. Her 2 is good early game but it's not on the same level at all points of the game like Neith's skillshot is. Her ult does a lot of damage yeah but building only for that is kind of a waste of a build.
