I don't think that Ms.Konoe will ever be as bad as kokopuffs. All of the jap players more or less stopped blocking kunzite with their face, and she does have to set up a bit so that she can hit you with her unblockable shenanigans. Overall, her Drive seems very weak to me. It doesn't seem to have too many uses, is overly predictable and seems to be easy to guard against.

At the very least, though, it's probably better than Naoto's Bloodedge.

Did they waste their budget on Nine's animations because Es, Naoto and Mai's do nothing for me, Naoto's look like bootleg versions of Ragna's complete with the same fucking staral, Mai's are all standard spear moves and Es's is just sword beams and blue shit everywhere. They even took to logo from Xblaze and made it a delay. But overall, Mai is the most boring to look at, even bland as bullet, Hibiki at least has the cool crow and spinning attack on titan moves going for him,Mai just has a boring as fuck play style and slutty outfit. She's probably going to be in the shit tier with Noel when the real players get their crack at her.

Celica does literally 0 fighting and is playable. Mori literally said in his interview she can't and yet boop. Muchourin can materialize dangerous things, and Mori hasn't even said she can't fight either.
She can be kind of like Terumi's deal with Hazama, where they share a few normals but use their weapons very differently. Trinity would need a completely different sprite though, I guess.

If you somehow make Bloodedge significantly different from Ragna storywise, like how Terumi got split from Hazama, then sure. Otherwise there is no reason he wouldn't have been in CP where there was so much focus on him. They would have given him the Terumi treatment.
Bloodedge doesn't have CF character select art shown off either.
I'm not opposed to the idea so much as the people who insist he's got every right to be there over the newcomers.

Not really. Being better either means their gimmicks being better or their normals being better.
With 34 characters in the roster a lot of the rushdown types would overlap too much if they all had poking tools than could contend well with any other neutral game. Ragna would be considered weaker if that's the case, so you'd have to give him more damage or make his specials even better, both things he doesn't need to retain his uniqueness while making him good.
If you wanted better gimmicks, you could for example remove all the nerfs to Bullet's drive in CF and keep all the buffs. Now she's good. But she's also fucking braindead as hell and is get resource to press D: the character.
Ideally you want a balance of the two but that's nowhere as fucking easy as we armchair devs make it out to be, because the trouble with fighting games is this: everything to do with tiers in matchup reliant. You give them something to deal with Bitch A, they fuck Guy D through K with so much ease those players consider it a kusoge.
If you dial down the uniqueness I think Blazblue could be very balanced, but Mori wants to focus on keeping on characters fun to play. I think it's pretty amazing how this game manages to be balanced as it is with how many are in the roster by now. Mid tiers in CF are a significant majority of the cast and there's only really two characters left bleeding from their orfices in high level play.

I like the fact that Mai's attacks are more consistent than those of certain other characters. She reminds me a bit of Hakumen in that respect. I prefer this sort of thing to characters like Kokonoe whose fighting style is a collection of seemingly random and disparate moves.

Arakune's very gimmick reliant, they just made his gimmick easy to activate this time around. It's the case with Bullet getting only drive buffs, except Bullet's normals are good where Arakune's are ass. So he's not kusoge tier good.
Amane got tools that filled the predictable holes in his pressure. But I'll admit I'm not that up to date on exactly what. His normal set itself and playstyle has always been very unique however, so he wouldn't suffer the issues that would arise between rushdown characters overlapping if he got additional tools.
