Do you absolutely need Scarlet for Krishna? The haste seems great but just 4 orbs is a bit too little for Krishna who is very orb-hungry. The thing is that Juggler was only one single monster, and that thanks to us never getting FFCD we actually managed to miss his ridiculousness and only got his weaker imitators like Awoken Lakshmi. We were not so lucky with heart cross. The meta is now heart cross and nothing else. Heart cross is killing PAD completely.

Discounting the fact that the game was much more simple back then, Juggler could only do that shit with garbage descends unless you are counting the equivalent bullshit of dragon seed clears. Even then they followed it up right away with tons damage leaders that could compete. Damage control was so quick that it was obviously planned.
His Pandora combination was still extremely broken for the time.

Heart Cross are the most tanky teams in the game while being extremely high damage on top either low base requirements (Miru style) or high exploitable actives (Kaede/Sumire/Bats).
Back then it would have been the equivalent of getting XM/Gadius/Typhon's current LS now - back then it would be completely unkillable and massive damage.

Unless they were talking about the obvious delay clears that we use to carry now, the better comparison would be leader only clears. Juggler and HC have tons of both but they don't mean much.
Juggler was a leap in usability more than damage anyway. People were much more furious about the whole 2 combo thing.

There's really only two ways to play, not counting cute: OSOBOS or tank.
Heart Cross basically does almost both when before it was either one or the other and now there's pretty much no way to release dungeons to defeat heart cross without fucking over all the other leaders (and no heart dungeons can even be cleared with heart cross leads in co-op).

There are plenty of ways to break them. Most of the ways hurt rainbow leaders far more than them though. Even worse, the other heart leaders are completely fucked unless they counter making the cross directly by boss moves or patch the shield to be included in dispel.

Anything that fucks with the board excessively hurts them worse. Examples from pad being heart break+lock or Khepri's column lock. Other games have far more evil mechanics like frozen orbs (can't move), null zones (matches made there don't apply), removing part of the board, buff copying, straight up no rcv orbs ever or rcv damages you, etc.

The better way to "fix" them and the route they seem to be taking is to make all leaders more bulky. The only decent ones so far are Krishna and kinnikuman, but they are both boring anyway. More interesting things would be more shapes = actives options that let you bring more defensive utility actives, combo shields, overhealing shields, temp max hp buffs, etc.

Fafnir/Fafnir is a 1/36/1 lead, with 8 rows from himself. The new G/G Ishida UEvo will add another 4 rows, along with being a two-turn haste and a decent setup-able board.

I personally like pairing with a Kaede, which on a row and an extra combo making 42x damage. It also lets me manage my damage output for shields (Sopdet, Vishnu, Hanuman, etc.) as I can have lots of options for damage multipliers.

Subs are what you'd expect for a row team. I use Astaroth and Mike, with Verdandi tied onto Fafnir to make bicolor boards with Ishida in tow. A.Ceres as a bind cleric. And doing Fafnir/Kaede with this team yields 100% SBR, on top of stacking more than enough rows for spikes.

Red and green one sound alright. Red will probably be popular inherit, but even without it 8 combo is pretty achievable even without skyfall, so she'll be similar to XM I would think, just harder to play. Green one will be a better version of tamazou from the JP challenges, so you can just watch a video with him to see how her playstyle pans out. LS-wise the green one is far and away the best though since it'll be a relatively easy 2.25/183/2.25, you just lose out on further combos but her active kind of covers that.

Dark/Light I'm not fond of, their LS are really mediocre outside of people starting out in the game and their actives are barely different than awoken norse. Just feel like a giant rehash of shit that doesn't really change anything.

Blue one entirely depends on the details of combos needed and how much damage is reduced, the way its worded is vague as hell.

Can definitely work. Michael might be a weird lynchpin in the team, and Perseus would always be a stronger option. Sylvie instead of Verdandi as well, but use what you have. The best part about this setup is that you can hook a TPA Kaede team with Fafnir and still have it be perfectly viable (Have to make a 5/6 match along with prongs and hearts to maximize damage, but not the end of the world) as I can hook a Row team onto Kaede for damage scaling.

Green is 182x but without the ability to do rows or 2prongs unless you're in a 7x6 dungeon. It'll still be comparable to full Kaede team damage but not as tanky.

On the other hand, a Kaede system is doable, and you don't need to worry about missing out on the defenses unless the leaders get bound.
