After all, Asriel never really divulges into the specifics of the plan they formed, maybe because he didn't really know what Chara was going to do. Maybe Chara didn't even know what exactly what they were going to do.
The entire reason this area of the game is left so vague is so that we will discuss it. In that sense, I suppose Charafags are doomed to be the last parts of the Undertale fanbase standing.

That's a lot of mental gymnastics, anon. It's fairly easy to infer what happened from what Asriel and the tapes tell us. Chara tried to kill himself for x reason, and when he returned to the surface with Asriel's body, immediately wanted to waste his entire village.

The only thing remotely vague about any of this is what his reasons for attempting suicide were, and what happened after he died to turn him into a fucking demon when you meet him.
