For some reason, this isn't available on NEO GEO, so I'd have to go to the main input settings to change how all of the controls of the vita correlate to the retropad configuration

I recently set up A9LH on my N3DS successfully, which is a Gateway emunand transferred to sysnand.
Of course booting into Luma3DS CFW doesn't support the Gateway card, but I've found myself enable to boot into the Gateway mode by using their supplied arm9loaderhax.bin file. This is by either payload chaining or by using that file directly, my 3DS will just turn on and do nothing, not even the wireless LED turns on.
I followed the Plailect guide and not the Gateway guide to setting up A9LH, has anyone else had troubles or successes with making the A9LH move and still using their Gateway card?

You unlock characters essentially by completing achievements. If you look under some tab in the main menu you can see how to unlock most characters if I remember correctly.
The tip I can give is get as many items as you can, but don't overstay your welcome. Get out of levels as fast as you can, whilst simultaneously picking up as many items as everliving possible.

The problem is that for Demon Gaze in particular, it doesn't seem to be able to patch and boot the game so it can decrypt the NPDRM on the eboot and modules.
It only used the manual trick to dump the filesystem without PFS. The eboot.bin and modules were still in there, they were just encrypred with NPDRM.
I tried the chink tools with TxK afterwards. After using the manual trick to dump filesystem contents without PFS, it then patched and booted the game and listed off the eboot and every module it was dumping.

Yes, MH can also be described as repetitive, but you don't usually notice that shit until far into the game when you're grinding certain monsters.
This game has a paper thin amount of Oni to battle and the weapons feel shallow, as far as how hard it is to master them.
And yes, the difficulty is the worst part of the game, because there is non. You either choose to take the AI party with you, which is clearly how the game was intended, or you deal with slogging through battles against Oni that are STILL just as easy to fight alone (due to their clearly announced and easy to dodge slow attacks) except they take fucking forever to kill because of how much health they have.
It's a damn shame, the aesthetics of the game are great, and the Oni do look pretty damn good.

Once you figure out the best strategy the game becomes piss easy and almost impossible to lose on purpose.
The best strategy is to use only one color in the deck so that you always reap the benefits of playing the same color in a row. The best deck should have most of the cards in the 2-3-4 mana cost range, mostly 3 mana so that you always can play a card. You should limit yourself to variations of the same monstergirls so that you can always fuse them when needed, since you're using mostly lower cost cards this is a must. Don't put many high cost cards in the deck, only put 4 or 6 higher cost cards, these should cost no higher than 6 and have the highest atk/def possible.
Personally I use the yellow deck with Goblins, Lizardman and Fafnirs, 9 copies with 3 variations of each, I also use 3 Yetis and 3 Minotaurs for higher cost cards. I believe I also have 3 fairies as well and a few other cards I can't remember. It's almost impossible to lose offline with that deck and I never lost online with it either, though I only played a few matches.
