This just gives me hope of being able to do a proper natural color and that even the dye-like shades don't look unnatural like they tend to in MMOs. Can't wait for the english CBTs to hit so I can see what more people accomplish with these options.

Eh, I guess if you go with a preset that's fine, but I'm personally one of those rather meticulous people. I'll miss obvious issues unless I take a break and go back to it, but I like messing with every single option to tweak things around and make it more and more personal of a character.
Facial details, coloration, body type, all of that gets tweaked anywhere from a touch to a fair bit.

Not really. They fit the theme of the game and the only real issue any of them have on a base level is the eyes. Granted, eyes are a pain in the ass, but it's not like they're entirely deformed.
A preset is just a base, you pick one and transform it, unless you're weird and like using the random button.

Don't really see why using the same name means the character must look similar, but I also rarely use a similar name in different mmos unless the name fits the lore. Like with here I'll probably be browsing chinese names.
Course, I rarely play MMOs with a consistent group of people either.

As for advice, I'd say look into making the face a bit less rounded, but that's reaching what is more personal taste rather than something looking blatantly off like the old eyes and the arms.

Reasonably sure a good 80-90% of the browsers of basically every MMO general are going to poke into this game at some point or another between now and OB/release.
I personally don't even know who I'll wind up grouped with. Could be a /vg/ guild, could be soloing, could try to get in with one of the streamers I watch who intend to play, who knows. I will make the blademaster as an alt once it can be made as a loli, they actually have a body type change thing in the cash shop but I'm not sure if I can get that without paying, if it's possible I might just go blademaster and do that when it's available, assuming they don't make it available before it's released, which is also possible.

I just like how lolis look significantly more than the other types so playing anything else is offputting.
If I was going to make a blademaster that's not a loli I'd probably make it male since they look better than females in this game imo, but at the end of the day I just want to be a cute little girl with a giant sword, and vanguard also satisfies that same thing except with a spear and shield, I can always wait on making the other melee class, I will likely play alts anyway because I really can't decide on just one class, they're all very nicely designed.

The fun in character creation comes in trying new things, at least for me.
I mean, I'm leaning towards one myself, but I haven't purposely picked a small race in quite a while outside of a brief stint in tera when ninja first hit and that was because it was elin locked.
I guess I'm just weird, because race/gender locks don't particularly bother me so long as one race isn't heavily favored (or everything is female only like Tera).

Just sitting in the major city with everyone feels like I'm playing vanilla WoW again as a little lowbie, gawking at all of the cool mounts, shiny armor and costumes.

As long as it's possible to keep up with a single character I'm fine.
I intend to try the four classes I'm interested in on CN and during the betas I get into, but I see myself going with spiritmaster in the end just because of my inclination for pure healing.
Occultist seems neat, but I'm doubtful of the potential to solo heal after the early levels and my ability to be able to properly do DPS while watching for healing.
Swordmage looks flashy, but I can tell that for PvE it's going to have some silly best combo entirely using fire and thunder.
Gunslinger looks cool, but I'm not that great at DPS combos and people are only going to want the good ones.
Spiritmaster seems like fun with their whole theme and I'm fairly decent at slipping in the occasional damage when I know there is a downtime in outgoing damage.

swordmage rotation involves switching through every element to get the most dps, and using your nukes depends on situation, for bosses that dont move a lot you want lightning cause it does most damage, but over time. for bosses that do move a lot you want fire for instant damage, and for adds / just aoe trash in general you want ice to CC them so they don't kill your healer, unless they're weak enough to burst with fire / lightning.

The Chinese version has bots, but they don't spam like the ones in BnS. I don't think they impact the economy as much as in BnS either, since it seems like most of the important stuff is character bound.

I'm told swordmage is the 'hardest' class since it has 3 elements to cycle through and they change how almost all their skills work

As for healing there's a healer class that can do some dps but a lot of healing (spirit shaper or something)

and a class that's the opposite, so higher dps but less healing (occultist)

I hear you can't just settle with the less effective healing class later in the game but idk

alright first things first is that you're playing towards the presets rather than against them, the chinese idea of what looks good is much different than what looks good in the west (see the fucking leg to torso ratio on every female body type besides the loli)

what I'd do is reduce the size of the eyes and bring them upwards, reduce the pupil size, go for a lighter skin tone, thin the lips and take off the lipstick, and bring the nose up a little
change the eyelashes, these characters fall into the uncanny valley real quick and those are giving me some bad vibes
slightly reduce head size? i spent a shitton of time tweaking my guys so I can't really say more without seeing your body sliders
if you posted a preset I'd work with it for a little bit
