I usually have to mute nukige to assist in subterfuge but when I don't, the Bishop games usually have really good osts. I kept Houkago 3 up in the background just ot listen to it. I grooved in Mesu Kyoushi 4's H-scenes instead of fapped (in fact, MK4 has the options for 2 different osts, lighter beats or heavy, metalish beats). i think it's also something that a lot of people just feel is good by association, considering how much media has utilized 'generic soft-piano track' during sad/melancholic moments. it's easy on the ears, immediately understood, and doesn't challenge any preconceived notions about music (in regards to tonality, formal techniques, or other basic music elements)

to be somewhat fair to visual novel composers, it's quite difficult to make proper musical arguments within the small limits that VN tracks often have (spanning maybe a few minutes). it's easier to go with something you know will succeed in conveying the tone of the scene the music is accompanying. which, in all honestly, is everything that a VN track needs to succeed.

It's ok. I only did Murasame and Yoshino because they were the only ones I was interested in. It's probably my least favorite Yuzusoft title so far, but Murasame is pretty fucking kawaii.

Also the art and H were really good. Very good wankings were had. General /jp/ opinion was "typical moege". Nothing overtly bad about it. Nothing overtly amazing about it aside from the top-tier CG.
