There probably is, it's not a filesize check in the game, it's the tool I'm using to rebuild the cat files, it's a quickbms script, and it doesn't rewrite the TOC and just inserts the changed data at the original point, so making it bigger just overwrites the start of files afterwards that are bigger

Vita actually utilizes stack canaries and ASLR properly Nintendo on the other hand has no kernel exploit protection and is just generally fucking up all over the place. with modding, what you're doing is modifying the progam's bytecode (unless you're lucky and it's open source). if you wanted to change the size of a data structure that's already been defined, you run into even more issues. first, bytecode itself is a fucking nightmare; use a debugger to try and work your way through even a simple program and it gets confusing. second, the dev assumed that size would be used every time they referenced that texture, so changing the size of it can screw up stuff in other parts of the code. third, even if you could manage to fix all those other parts that reference it, they probably defined it to be that size for a reason; the vita might not be able to handle having bigger textures while still having enough resources to do other stuff. a lot of work for something that will probably just crash anyway.

if you notice how they say one USB is damages its due to BDEMU. that usb port specifically gets a shit ton of abuse in the dev stages. the systems work, i know they work, the seller may be on the other end of the country but many of us have bought from him and all are as expected.

That said, dont buy a TOOL if you want PS2 or ease of use. CFW for those systems is only a thing to very special individuals. I was lucky and managed to get Rebug liteCFW for it but only 4.78. They really dont like TOOLs and its due to hwo restrictive they are even when theyre modified.

The current overclock options barely do anything, but apparently someone is working on a super overclocker for PSTV's. It would technically work for a regular Vita too, but you would burn through the battery in all of 10 minutes AND heat the thing up too much.
