You don't have to join a guild. You should avoid ones that have too many members (in my experience), but it's nice to get to know a couple dozen people and have a sense of camaraderie. It's really fucking boring to play WoW with the intention of doing anything but monotonous LFG and LFR shit and world quests.

It's also not overly hypocritical to just greet someone you are going to be healing/tanking for/damaging for for the next 30 min or so. If you met a group of people on the street and ate a meal at the same table with them you would at least give them a nod, hand wave, or say hi to them you fuck.

Alright, so basic shit.

Most ret paladins are taking [Divine Purpose] and [Justicar's Vengeance].
They justify having a 5HP spender by taking a talent which, through RNG, allows you 1 free spell.

1 cast of [Justicar's Vengeance] actually does way less damage than 2 casts of TV, for 1 HP less (or as other players are justifying "free")

This is where the main problem stems from - people relying on RNG for their DPS.

Now, in comparison, if you take anything else at the 75 bracket (Eye for an Eye good for soloing or word of glory good for extra healing if you need it at 0 manacost) and at 100 you take Crusade, your damage output will be a lot higher.

In 8sec~ of crusade being up, with 20% haste, I can get 15 stacks of Crusade, which increases my Haste and Damage by 50% for the next 12sec~+(5sec*Wrath of the Ashrbinger points). Thise gives a potential of something like 42~ seconds at max of Crusade time, with 50% increase Damage and Haste - which obviously translates into higher DPS.

Other talents are really not THAT important for DPS and dont have THAT much of an impact but there are some which are better than others.

at 15, I take Final Verdict, because Im not using Justicars, and because its really good on AOE packs - When I start raiding I will probably take Execution Sentence

at 30, I take Greater Judgement for the guaranteed Crit (which does 200k-500k) and reduces the RNG of the spec. The Fires of Justices reduces Crusader Strike CD by a whole 1 second, which is not needed at all, and has a 15% chance to reduce the cost of my next holy spender by 1 (O N E) which is just shit RNG.

45 is irrelevant, but Blinding Light is a DPS increase if used while judgement is up

at 60, most people take Virtues Blade, which is one again RNG bullshit. Blade of Wrath is far better, since it adds a DOT to the spell and Divine Hammer is 100% uptime, so really good for soloing/aoe.

You can be decent, I was destro but I felt like changing it up a bit so I speed leveled my aff artifact to 13th trait and its surprisingly viable in dungeons, I'd still prefer destro for trash, but Sow the seeds+shadowflame in addition to agony on every target and pummeling people with UA's actually keeps up suprisingly well and single target is pretty decent once they ramp up full agony.
