I wish that you people would understand that dealing with people like me is just as serious as dealing with a chronic physical illness. While those with cancer and immune disorders and fibromyalgia are given support ribbons and referred to as warriors and survivors, those of us with depression and personality disorders are monsters, evil, and undesirable. Instead of eliciting sympathy and compassion, people like me are shunned. I've been struggling a lot with this over the past few months, almost drove me to quit a couple times. Getting better at handling it, though.

First of all, you can bypass all this shit by playing with people you know.
Putting up a podcast or anything to distract you from the actual game while doing roulettes or other chores also works; you'll probably still do better than most people.
Something that also improved my QoL a lot was not parsing DF shit unless I was playing AST, and not playing AST much in DF shit, despite it being my main.
Finally, and most importantly, I started helping clueless twats, which works like a tenth of the time but when it does and they thank you with a badly written sentence and a retarded :) it makes me so fucking happy I can't stop smiling for like half an hour. Then all the bullshit is worth it, actual commendations can't compare.

I tried not doing this a couple of times, and honestly it was nice. It definitely made running content much more enjoyable. That being said, I parse mostly for myself, and not just to shit on others. There are times when I parse to monitor other's dps, just to get a feel for how much is safe to pull with the CDs I have available when tanking, but mainly I like to use parses to help figure out what I did well in one run versus what I did poorly in another.

I think it's more of the fact that the day that I stop caring about the game is the day my heart will be at peace. I've had the Parade mount for over a year now, so comms are much less important to me these days, but I think it's more that I'm tired of putting effort in and playing my job correctly and then having people who might as well be rolling their face on their keyboards try to tell me how to play my job, or act like they're hot shit just makes me salty. I really am tired of the community as a whole. Maybe it's because I didn't parse at all when I first started playing a few years ago, but I really feel like the overall skill level of the community has dropped in the past year or two - though that may be due to the alienation of the raiding community/competent players that occurred between 3.05 and now.

I've realized my frustrations with DF in this game aren't with the game itself, but with people in general, this might be the case for you too.
Arrogant retards that are full of shit induce in me a soul tearing anger that's just unbearable.

Thinking long and hard about why these people think the way they do and how to deal with them has legitimately done a huge difference. The retards can often be dealt with and even helped perform better and be less vitriolic; when everything fails, you can always find comfort in that in the end there's an objective way to measure performance, and they're just dogshit.
Some of the patience I've gained and the things I've learned have actually helped me improve my relationships with some family members and coworkers in real life, too. I never thought playing videogames would actually teach me valuable life skills.
