They have been working on adding in easy to craft PvP gear from professions, so that guilds and players will be able to craft gear that won't be too painful to lose in PvP. And since only some of the gear is lootable on death, you might be able to buy it back later on from the auction house.

the 3x xp is for phase 2 testing right now, which is focused more on testing the PvP and new stuff like capping zones, so it'll go back to 1x xp rates after phase 2 is over before release
they did change how much xp it takes to level up each level however (http://forums.warlordsofxoroth.pro/t/these-are-the-numbers/269), and I think they said that players will get to keep their characters on release, but maybe not gear, depending on a server vote before release

Paladins, Enh sham (ele with gear), Rogue, Mage, Warrior (with gear), all are great options for bursting enemies.
