/mhg/, can I get some etiquette tips for charm runs? I just unlocked the coal quest and I want to host it but I'm not sure of what I'm supposed to do in some cases:

1. Do people just rush in without eating or do they take their time trying to get Feline Explorer and shit like that?

2. Should I just farcaster when I get my part of the coals (6, 4 or 3, depending on the number of players) or should I keep mining for more?

The Hayabusa Feather automatically gives you CE+2 without needing to commit anything other than the head slot to those 15 points. It depends on the amount of hunters in the room.
-if you're alone or at most with 1 other hunter, you may eat for explorer. Seek the red nodes in areas 6 and 8 afterward.
-if you're in a group of 3 or 4, just skip eating and go to the quest. Don't even mine blue nodes: aim to get 3-4 coals as fast as you can and farcaster to camp. With that many hunters you can emphasize speed since the bulk of your charms will come from the rewards screen.

Charmer isn't super important. Wait till a good charm gives a hefty lot of it to you. I'd go for the Melahoa U set, it gives you considerable Gathering and Whim points to get G+2 and Divine Whim. Even after you get the Blue Guild set, the best charm farming set is a mix of the two.

And it's probably a reference to second gen where Kush, Teo and Cham's sets had a skill each that negated the unique effect of one of the others, in a sort of triangle. Kush's set gave immunity to Teo's flame aura.

I use APM editor so I am not sure what you did wrong but when I editted the Zenny in, it showed the old amount on the load screen, It wasn't until I got in-game that the edited amount was in my pouch.

Can we discuss the optimal panel layout at the bottom for blademasters?
This is mine right now.

I'd usually want the map at the bottom, but since you can just pull it up with L and it frees up so much space, there's no real need.

The team status down there and the monster target is definitely staying.
But I'm not sure about the item shortcuts.

I put mega pots, paintball, energy restore and whetstone there but I find myself rarely needing to press these touch screen shortcuts as it's easy enough to just cycle through my items anyway.

Is there any use for Adept glaive? I feel like there is a potential here, but it's kinda hard to get the bug to grab the color I want. Also sending it out on its own and draining all its stamina is too slow. Is there a way to make it way more accurate? Does marking with the pheromone help?

I need some general tips with the GS

With Guild style, if I have an opening, do I go for the unsheate charge attack or the unsheate attack, side slap and then the strong charge? I feel like I almost never have time for a fully charged unsheated attack, so I never get to use the strong charge and I feel like I should go for Striker to get the extra arts since I don't even use the moves I lose

With Aerial, I feel like I can attack much more. Is the regular combo the unsheath attack into roll+hop into an aerial attack? Do the unsheath attack count for mounting? And is this all I'm supposed to be doing as Aerial GS?

Last but not least, art recommendations? With Aerial I've been torn between Lion's Maw and the dodge that sheathes my weapon
