Northern Regalia vastly outperforms most things anyways, it's the sole reason why vitgouge builds are viable.

Faith builds are infamous for abusing blessed weapons and hp regen, the Large Sword of Moonlight completely ignores shields, WoG is an atom bomb in spell form, and you can do weird shit like force invaders to go home or annoy blues by summoning them and auto-reviving them on the spot.

It's still usable, just not so good you can't use it as a get-out-of-jail-free card. Scholar's Candlestick is not useless, it still makes your spells stronger if you don't mind giving up a weapon or shield for it.

The nerf to the obscuring ring is basically nothing.

Basically, pre-patch its range was the same as the range need to lock on to someone. You could tell if someone could see you based on whether or not you could lock on to them and had to step into range to be seen to lock on.
However, there was a bit of a trick with this. You could lock on to someone and then step back. Once you've locked on to a target, the range to actually break that lock on is longer than the range needed to lock on in the first place, this meant you could actually be locked on to your opponent while invisible to them, which was handy for instantkill sniping with sorceries.

Now the range of invisibility is the lockon-break range, which is only about 2 or 3 steps back from the original range. It just prevents you from being locked on while invisible, so sniping requires manual aim.

Giving Irina a dark tome doesn't do anything by itself except remove the tome from your inventory. Buying a dark spell from her starts her bad ending path, and Eygon will take her away to the area just past Iudex Gundyr, where you'll have to kill him to get her back. After she returns, you can continue to buy spells from her until you've bought all of her dark spells, at which point she goes catatonic and you can no longer buy any spells from her. Equipping Mourne's gauntlets and talking to her at this point will result in her thinking you're Eygon and begging you to kill her. Any spells you didn't buy before this point are lost for the playthrough.

Give the dark books to Karla instead, it's not like you'll really have the stats to use them before then anyways.

It varies.
Most of the most efficient physical defense armour has an extreme lightning ABS deficiency so the average player with minmaxed armour will have ~5 less lightning ABS than magic, and take 5% more damage from lightning than magic. However, the vast m,ajority of players have softcapped flat lightning defense due to gouging endurance while almost nobody has any additional magic defense because it only comes with int. This difference in flat defense doesn't match the difference of 5ABS, but in the best case scenario the difference between the two will only be marginal (eg. within 10 damage of each other) while in the worst case scenario (eg. armour that isn't weak to lightning), it will be substantially in magic's favour.

It got buffed a while back, it's a direct upgrade to GC now. And it does do massive stamina damage, it's just not enough to break most of the meta shields in 1 shot. - Sharp should add base damage+bleed, only work for bladed weapons and cut durability in half.
- Refined should drastically remove base damage and improve scaling in general, be it str, dex, faith or anything, leaning more to physical scaling.
- Raw should drastically improve base damage but makes scaling really bad, but still a thing.
- Enchanted should add INT scaling, giving up STR/DEX scaling
- Divine should add FAITH scaling, giving up STR/DEX scaling
- Deep should add INT/FAITH scaling, giving up a lot of STR/DEX scaling
- Hollow should add LUCK scaling, giving up all other scalings.

All can be buffed. All physical infusions.
