Serious question, not trying to start a debate. How does Warmane compare to Kronos? Is it as stable? Is the only benefit to Kronos the vanilla experience, or is there more of a population here? Is it of the same quality and stability?

I haven't played on Kronos so I can only tell you about Warmane, but I can't compare the two. Warmane feels very populated; there is a global channel which is quite fast and is usually quite spammy with people recruiting members for groups, raids etc. Many players on Icecrown are european and speak average english. There's a couple of BRs and even Iranians I think. Sometimes the players with bad english will roll need on stuff they don't, can be pretty annoying. Warmane has occasional lag spikes, but they're usually clustered close together as opposed to being one every 5 minutes or something. I think I've seen the server crash once. There are a few bugs I've noticed in some dungeons, though I don't think anything gamebreaking. I had the RDF place me in a different instance to my group before, and I couldn't see them in the game world nor were the hostile units reacting to their presence, though I could see the minimap icons. I think there's benefits to both and would like to play on Kronos if I can bring myself to get around the long grind to get level 60, particularly because I haven't experienced vanilla endgame content in retail or on private servers, whereas I've done so on Wotlk in both.

Its basically turned into a singleplayer game with other people now. Not gonna lie, I enjoyed leveling the first time in WoD, and a enjoying it now in Legion. Shit is pretty fun. But the novelty wears off so quick and there's no substance behind all the flash.

Vanilla was the total opposite, and for the first few months I just ran around not having any clue what was happening, but the game just gets better and better the more and more you figure out and play. Which is kind of disappointing for the shitters, but fuck em, the game was the best when it didnt cater to casuals (in which I now fall into that category, but fuck, I shouldn't be handed rewards just for existing).

I didn't really have high hopes for Elysium, thought it was going to be a russian populated server no matter what people said and only a few said wait for it. I've always felt like Crestfall would be like one of those big projects like on Kickstarter where the devs just realized what they are really aiming for and promising to people is out of reach and they give up. But they are closing in on launch now, and reading the updates in their forum makes you realize they have a good view on how vanilla should be. I'm going to roll there even tho they might have a shitty start because I have high hopes for this server. For now Kronos 2 is good enough.
