We are going to be singing Obstacles now. Since it won the strawpoll.

Use Audacity or something, there are plenty of programs that do this. If you don’t have a mic just use your phone. Try singing the whole song in 1 go. This makes it easier to edit. Make sure it is JUST YOUR VOICE. No song in the background.
Last time there were a few that were in but they were super quiet. If your mic is super low volume try to use your phone as well or just get a better mic, how can anyone even hear you.

There's different kinds of love anon. The love between Kate and Max is pure and unsullied by filthy base desire. It's not mutually exclusive with the love Max has for Chloe.

It's the kind of love best expressed when Max gracefully runs her hands down Kate's arms after sharing a pot of tea together, the slight touch of her fingertips causing goosebumps to ripple outward. They look into each other's eyes; Max smiles, and Kate feels heat surge into her cheeks as they break out in a blush. She tries to look away, but can't escape the piercing depth of those eyes. Blue like a perfectly tranquil lagoon that's been warmed by the gentle heat of a summer sun.
She imagines stripping herself of her worries and diving in. Bathing and relaxing without a care in the world, the tension oozes out of her. The only ripples are those caused by her own movement, concentric circles that lap at the edge of the shore then return, causing the tiniest splashes as they kiss her slight curves.
She's shocked for an instant as Max's hands finish their journey, reaching her own, bringing with them that gentle heat. Max gently takes her hands, enveloping them. One of them giggles nervously. Kate's not sure who it was, but blushes for both of them. She actually gasps a little as Max becomes more assertive, pushing with her fingers, letting their hands embrace. Their fingers intertwine, slipping past one another. They're locked together now. She can't get away. Not that she'd ever want to.
There's something she needs to say. Max has been wonderful, but now it's her turn to return her kindness, her warmth, her generosity. Her lips open a crack and for the longest time, nothing comes out.
“Max.” She finally manages to whimper, undone by the simplest of pleasures. “Would you like another pot of tea?”

As you can see, completely pure. Now Chloe on the other hand, just imagine all the filthy things she and Max do together.

It's mostly just becuase I, apparently, used to have a really good grip on how Chloe spoke.

That was actually the point of the fic.
It was a version where Max is in her first year of university afterwards, and after she listened to Chloe and saved the Bay.

The point of it was that she couldnt cope with the guilt, and missing Chloe, so she was going to go back and try to save everyone.

Shit was going to get long and convoluted as shit with all the alternate directions everything was going to go.

He seemed off from the very first speech in class, but I didn't expect him to be the big bad until the reveal. I figured he'd be involved/enabling shit in some shady way. I'm with those comments. There's a big lesbian vibe coming from Chloe on how she talks about Rachel. But Max seems like your typical teenage girl with esteem issues. My Max kissing Chloe was more her taking a step out of her comfort zone, saying "fuck it", and showing Chloe she is able of doing spur-of-the-moment things.

I also want to add that it is hard to make fanart and stories about Max and Chloe simply being best friends, as opposed to lovers. Every LiS outlet is filled with those, but it is probably part so because, like I said, it's easier to create such fan content.

I finally finished the game. So i dont know. It had one sad scene (finding rachel) and who killed Chloe and Rachel. But after all i kind of got no bonding at all. I dont really were sad about the ending chloe dieng or the whole city being dead (dunno if people survived but i think not)

The reality of it is you are watching Max and occasionally she asks you what course of action to take. Max has feelings, ambitions, and fears that are independent of the player.
Which is why the Bay ending feels wrong; it's not something Max would choose. Her own words if the player picks it are "I don't want to do this!"
Meanwhile in the Bae ending, Max shows confidence and speaks calmly and firmly when she says "Not anymore".

If you're genuine then perhaps you shouldn't use greentext and a bunch of generalizations. If you paid attention while playing it's very easy to see why she's angry and has abandonment issues.
It's also easy to see how much she improves in just the one week because it's the first time she actually takes a step back and is able to talk to honestly talk with someone and have the same honesty returned.

Finished game around a month ago, kinda wanted to share one of the opinion I had in mind. And also new to /lisg/.

I honestly thought Jefferson was cool before I witnessed the end of ep.4, because:
- He was rather generous to Max about not submitting her photo (whereas he demanded photos from others in ep.1)
- He kept mentioning about Max's talent and how she's gifted
- He found Victoria's flirting / bribery(?) inappropriate and rejected her 'offer' during ep.3
- He was nice to Chloe when they first met (in ep.3) and again (in ep.4 Vortex club party)

I was kind of shocked to see it was Jefferson at the end of ep.4. When I first saw a suit shooting Chloe I assumed it was someone like Sean Prescott, since he is powerful enough in Arcadia Bay to cover up his actions. Although I had some suspicion on Jefferson, I thought the story would be more elaborate and introduce someone new, but still related to the current characters. Basically shocked, but not like a 'plot twist' amount of shock.

Anyways obviously Jefferson is a psychopath with twisted fantasies and he deserves to rot in jail. Pretty scared to see how someone can cover up their true identity and act as a completely different person. (Sorry for my terrible English skills ugh) Pic unrelated but pretty interesting to see.

And of course, I chose bae. The cutscene could have been longer desu.

Just going by what I thought in Episode 1; I thought that Kate may have just overdone it, got drunk, and then did stuff she later regretted/ didn't remember. Still sad and still worth helping her, but nobody to blame but Kate.
But at the end of Episode 1, Chloe talks about how Nathan drugged her.

I remembered this when talking to Kate in Episode 2 so when she said she only had one drink and then felt weird, it became clear to me she was drugged. When she talked about the "hospital" and man with the smooth voice I didn't know what to really make of it. Until I saw the Dark Room, then I realized Jefferson was involved somehow and that in Episode 2 he wasn't trying to help Kate, he was trying to drive her away.
It also made me realize immediately after Chloe gets the text from "Nathan" that they were walking into a trap and I really did not like being forced to watch them do it.

I agree, but for me, in that Jefferson and Kate convo I assumed Jefferson was really busy so he couldn't help Kate out. Since Jefferson also cut Max's convo because of his phone call I more or less assumed he was busy with his work or something.

Now to think of it, what would have been added if the bae cutscene was longer? I'd guess something like:
- Sunrise shot with bird chirping
- Chloe and Max driving to Chloe's house
- Camera angle changes and show damage the totally e6 tornado has done while cinematic of truck moving plays
- They arrive and pick up stuffs they can salvage (like photos/items that are important to them) from the rubble
- Leave house site and both look at the destroyed house once more
- "Well I guess we're gonna have to crash at your place in Seattle, Max"
- Drive off to main street
- Showing bit more destruction
- Short scene of Max calling (or texting) their parents about tornado and that they are heading to Seattle
- Chloe smiles at her while Max is making her calls
- Call ends and Max nods with a grin.
- "All right Max, let's go!"
- Drive out of Arcadia Bay

My ideal Bae ending scene would have been kind of like how Episodes 1 and 2 ended. Keep in mind this wouldn't have any additional dialogue.
-Obstacles starts playing
-Show the broken lighthouse on the cliff, start to zoom in towards Arcadia Bay
-Show the storm's damage
-People being pulled from rubble, Joyce and the others coming out of the diner
-Cut to the hospital and Victoria being brought in, Kate (If the player saved her) comes over and comforts her
-Show Max and Chloe waking up after sleeping in the room by the lighthouse, soaked and disheveled but alive
-Show them holding hands and walking down the trail towards Chloe's truck

-They pull into Arcadia Bay, Chloe immediately runs over to Joyce and hugs her. Max talks to Warren and comforts Frank after telling him about Rachel
-David shows up and comes running to the Diner, Chloe hugs him too, it becomes a family hug
-Camera looks down to the floor at one of Rachel's missing posters, transitions into a picture of her smiling that's in the center of a wreath
-Scene becomes the graveyard. Rachel's funeral
-Chloe is sad, but Max comes over and comforts her
-Even Frank and Chloe comfort each other
-Later that night, Max and Chloe are watching the stars together on the bench by the cliff, they kiss for real for the first time
-The camera pans upwards to the stars
-Obstacles ends, 'Max & Chloe' song begins
-As the credits roll one final time a few of Max's Polaroids show up showing the rebuilding of Arcadia Bay, the reopening of Two Whales, a few random shots of Chloe, some of her and Chloe together, some of their friends and family, some of Max's parents seeing her and Chloe, and one of Max and Chloe together and smiling in front of the space needle
-Zoom out from this final Polaroid, showing it is part of a scrapbook they are making. (Thanks, Molli!). Max closes the book, walks towards the doorway where Chloe is standing, turns off the light, then closes the door.

I think Max as the best person to get the power because she got it as a very precise time, she needed help with some things herself, she helped others, but also because she knew when something should not be changed.

While I agree that Chloe very much is portrayed as avoidant of her real problems (drugs being part of that distraction) and acting out as a way of not being able to cope (blaming and being upset), which does include things like her attitude and appearance to the extent that they are ways to keep people on distance so as to not get emotionally stirred-up, and that large parts of her behaviour are obviously not healing, but actually physically and psychologically unhealthy - while I also agree that only once Max returns does she actually start to go a path of healing, it's also not like those things are not part of her.

For one thing she does actually talk about wanting blue hair in the AU. And she listens to similar music. Being bound to bed, it's understandable why she wouldn't be more visually self-expressive. A bit sad really. I don't remember clearly, but her online accounts/behaviour was more expressive of that punk affinity? And then obviously Rachel played part in Chloe's development. You could say she was a "bad" influence, but she helped her cope, "saved" her, even if it was in unsustainable and unhealthy ways as opposed to Max. Rachel managed to show Chloe fun again like she probably hadn't had since her childhood. Mindless fun and reckless distraction, sure, but those as extensions of Chloe's naturally more reckless and fun personality.

There's definitely a syndrome of repressed problems and unhealthy coping mechanisms at play, and those are expressed in "bad" ways, but they are also expressed by her in her own ways, so part of it is self-expression. Besides, her tattoo is beautifully intricate and not punk trash, we know she likes the blue of her hair just as a color for multiple reasons, and she is not an ass to everyone - her more caring and gentle self obviously coming through with Max, but we know she was able to casually be pals with Justin & Co., shared a meaningful friendship with Rachel before Max's return.

Very well put. I would also add Chloe's apprehensiveness is a defense mechanism. She's not trying to be a bitch, she's trying to keep herself from getting hurt again. Every time she loved someone and let them in to see her fully, they ended up leaving her (Which we later discover was just tragic circumstances and not actually trying to hurt her). So she sees not letting anyone get close as the one way to protect herself. You see this in her room: stuff with meaning to her is tucked away in drawers or under her bed, hidden away and safe.

Rachel was indeed a lifeline for Chloe to hold on to during that time. But she wasn't just a replacement Max or anything like that, Rachel and Chloe were genuine friends and did care deeply about each other (Although in different ways). But Chloe also either missed or ignored Rachel's flaws. Perhaps because Rachel was all she had and since her love blinded her somewhat, thankfully Rachel respected Chloe enough to not dive into something she did not want which would just hurt them both (Unfortunately, she lied to Chloe about other things). Rachel didn't deserve what happened to her, and Chloe didn't deserve to find out the things she did in the ways she did, but there's no changing it. Plus you can believe that Rachel knew she messed up and made up for it by helping Max save Chloe. Helping Chloe realize she and Rachel really didn't have a shot despite how much fun they had, and that Chloe's true place is with Max.
