Dragoon skills still work with 1-handed, but they deal way more damage with 2h spears.
Corsair's hook and flag are usable with any weapon for pvp and farming utility iirc.

It's literally 10% for bosses and 20% for large mobs, there's virtually no difference against players/medium/small mobs since R8 is all about skill base damage.

Since you have no Pelt, it may be better to get the hook with Corsair1.
Sword2 is a choice almost exclusively for PvP builds, and Doppel1 gives few benefits in PvP.

I had one of my best matches today, but I forgot to record it. My Rodelero + a Rank6 Necro versus a Diev3Kabba and a Diev3Necro. The Necro would die nearly instantly no matter what he did, so I had to win 3 rounds almost by myself, against 2 clerics. It was a 10/10 match, exactly the thing I've longed for all this time.

So which R8 classes do you guys feel got the best part of uncle kim's dick?

I feel like swordies obviously with the ridiculous R8 they're getting, though that goon nerf recently may make them less appealing. Only swords on suicide watch are cornobis. I'd be very happy with swords coming out on top after R8 hits, they've definitely had it the hardest so far.

Clerics are in a great position, most of them look very strong. Inquisitor, tao look like very strong additions. Inquisitor is literally a you fucked it but it's okay class. PD2 is looking really good especially with their fuckyouwugu mist. Druid3 looks real nice too in my opinion but apparently the wolf isn't all that great compared. Kabba and oracle got the short end here I feel.

Archers are pretty meh, it looks like SR3 and musk2 will actually be the best out of them. Cannon2 bazooka looks pretty lacklustre even with running shot but blast10 and that new smoke and barrage skill look pretty good. Haks and mergens look not all that great, haven't seen many hak videos but I think they could be decent. Mergen just has too high a CD skills for my liking.

Wiz's got the worst end of the R8's. Although we'll have to see how it turns out. Lock2 still gets DT10 and the new sage looks like it could be alright, haven't seen/heard a lot about the wiz's. With the JP + MM nerf we could see wiz's falling a little further in R8, but I still think they'll be viable if but subpar a little compared to other classes. Enchanter could be good, but again i haven't seen any enchanter vids at all.

Which are you guys looking forward to most?

I'm coming back after a while, but a lot of builds have changed.

It's still very much viable, but A2 R1 Sc1 fletchers will outperform you and full dex is not an ideal stat allocation for fletcher, something around 1:1 or high STR is better.

You'll still do well and be able to do most content, but keep in mind Fletcher is mainly a bossing character and there are more optimal fletcher builds with better stat allocations out there who will outperform you at bosses.

If 10 mobs walk on a Carnivory10 they would get 4 hits each before the spell ends.
Carnivory is best used as single target pretty much stationary target and does very high damage. Druid2+Chrono3 is an effective combo for WBs,Diev3Druid2 is on par with Elememe if the boss doesn't move too much

1h Sword variety isn't good, and I don't trust it'll ever be good. Besides, the strike debuffs only last 10 seconds, and by the time you've done the Murmillo + Rodelero skill rotation, the buffs have expired and the Pelt kit won't do any decent damage without them. Synchro Thrusting's damage isn't actually bad. Two hits, scale with the shield's def, but has an awkward hitbox, absurdly long cast animation, and one of its two hits is actually pierce. To get the full use of it, you have to waste time within your rotation to get Spear Lunge in, which won't benefit any of your other skills and could be instead be used to cast a damage-dealing Strike skill.

Well yes, it looks very nice on videos, and it's indeed a killer when fighting bosses like that. But we all know boss fights are a minuscule part of the game. In order to make it work, you need to blow the cooldowns on the Strike Debuffs AND the Bunshins. It's not suitable for fighting multiple enemies, just bosses.

Hook is the better option. You can't catch anything without it. The Murmillo stuns are beyond unreliable(like any Lv1 debuff), and the Bind from Mokuton is both passive and short. Not a viable option at all, and if you can't get people to stand still in order to get apply the debuffs/hit them with the skills, the damage is pointless.

Shinobi Murmillo is a better version of the already-existing mission boss burster build we already have. It does 1 trick extremely well, but you're not going to be DPS in any parties being Murmillo. Regardless of Shinobi or not.

Shinobimurm is currently the strongest boss killing build (outside fencer with dragoon spearlunge + serpentine debuffs) and insanely good at pve too (they're currently one of the few builds that can solo efficiently at r8).

Now, look at this damage. We can clearly see the Shinobi hits doing 2004 damage each, while the 2764 comes from Toy Hammer. Indeed, if you use the toy hammer the explosions will go off really fast, but ultimately you're stacking a gimmick on top of a gimmick and not even getting a decent DPS out of it.

Unless the toy hammer's explosion counts as strike, in which case I suppose it does do meaningful damage, but still questionable whether a high refined spear/sword doesn't do better/slightly less.
