I will admit that I overlooked that description and shame on me for doing so, but it's still not explicitly the main cause of the conflict. It is definitely forming an association, it's no doubt they joined forces (and this is a justification for the propagation of the Blessed Weapon miracle), and I see no other reason than because they felt threatened by the scholars (at least one of which "doubted the linking of the fire"), but it doesn't really contradict the point in contention here, since there are still knights loyal to the royal family/Prince Lothric.

I started out hating DaS2 for being a massive disappointment, even if I didn't think it was objectively a bad game. It wasn't the Souls I knew.

I loved Bloodborne, but was still disappointed by its matchmaking and somewhat limited options.

In both cases, the patches and DLC ended up completely satisfying and made me think of them as marvelous contributions to the series. You might want to wait till the last DLC is out and the final patch is applied, though.

Unlike all other twinblades, dancer's R2 is a piece of shit and doesn't swing both like it should. Warden's and most others can chain L1 to R2 but not the dancer ones.

The rapier is one of the better thrusting swords. Not better than the estoc, but decent and good damage for its speed.

The straightsword is just a direct downgrade to the regular longsword, but it looks pretty and no straightsword is truly bad in pvp.

Bear in mind you'll never actually inflict frostbite on anybody.

Firelink Shrine is technically part of New Londo, it's build into a tower that emerges through the mountainside from the village's cavern, and the catacombs themselves are a part of the shrine.

It seems to me like the whole deal with the rebellion, the necromancers and all of the shit locked away in the painted world were likely a domino effect beginning with New Londo turning against the Gods on Kaathe's behest

I've used magic (read: sorcery) at SL99 in both invasions (archives) and /dsg/ fightclubs against plenty of people at 120 or higher and done just fine
Besides more HP/stamina there's not much advantage at 120+ for a pure caster except to make them more of an inferior melee build, since favor+2/life+3, etc gives much more durability to melee builds that casters cant access due to the ring requirements

The key criteria is that they're never outright hostile. Everything has to be twisted until it's 100% your fault while they are completely innocent of any wrongdoing. This is how they make you feel like garbage and control the relationship.

End shit like that pronto, learn the difference between genuine relationship improvement and manipulation and always know what pills your gf takes if you want to risk that shit.

This, plus casters lose more damage against sl120 melee builds than they gain from the extra levels.

As sad as it is, quality just plain scales better with levels than everything else. Any sort of pure build gets progressively worse compared to quality as you go up because quality gets stronger faster.

~100 is around the sweetspot where a mage can get the most out of their damage scaling without being completely left behind by the strength of melee characters. Sure, you're forced to make tradoffs there, but it's better to lose a bit of FP or HP than be facing a completed sl120 quality juggernaut.

I've been playing them for quite a bit, but I'm not sure what they were like on release.
It's a bit of a slog at the start, but it picks up once you hit around 40ish faith and use lightning stake.
It really picks up once you get sunlight spear and 60 faith, then you'll be killing enemies and players like crazy.
I've heard the lothric greatsword is good for faith, but I haven't tried it. The lothric knight straightsword get's S in faith though.
For buffable weapons, use dragonslayers axe and drakeblood sword.

Scaling priorities should be Dex>Str>Int>Faith. The Dancer's Swords fire and magic damage scale off both Dexterity and Strength along with the physical damage, but the Int and Faith scaling only affects magic/fire and the fire damage respectively. Also level should be generic PvP levels because you really only need a basic quality build for Dancer's to be usable in PvE.

The str and dex scaling of the dancer's swords affect all of its damage types. Dex is its highest scaling, and should be prioritized. Strength is the 2nd best and should be maxed second. If you have spare points for damage stats after that, the int scaling is better than the faith scaling, as it affects both the magic and fire damage while the faith scaling only affects the fire.

So if your cup runeth over for levels, then 40/40/30 would be the most you could eke out of them. You'll end up with close to 700AR with this.

Because the AR is deceptive.
One sword deals physical +fire, the other deals physical +magic. While the AR displays the sum of all 3 damage types, no instance of damage uses more than 2, so your actual effective AR is about 30% lower than the numbers suggest.

The WA only combos for 2 loops. They nerfed all of the multi-spin WAs a while ago to be that way. If you don't let it end after 2 spins, then it becomes techable and they can just roll out.

There's no point in looping any of them anyways. Dancer's WA does like 40 damage per spin and then like 200 at the end. The extra spins are just a waste of FP and stamina.

In the network test, the effect didn't reduce defense but the stamina penalty was extremely harsh. Getting frostbitten was essentially certain death because your stamina wouldn't recover fast enough to roll all of the outrider's attacks, forcing you to get hit.

They reduced the stamina penalty from like 30 in the network test to ~9 in the final game so it wouldn't be so harsh to new players. They added the defense reduction because a stamina penalty has no effect on pve enemies, since they don't use stamina, and would've made the status effect pointless in player hands

Vordt the boss gets an aura in his second phase that causes slow frostbite buildup, effectively freezing your frostbite meter and preventing it from emptying like it normally would. Also, his attacks just have massively unreal frost buildup.

The straight sword, rapier, and Vordt's hammer have normal weapon arts. Only the Pontiff Knight Curved Sword and Scythe have frost-based weapon arts, and the Scythe's is pretty damn good if you're trying to cause frostbite.

Aldritch is a cool idea, but his fight and design is Gwyndolin 2.0 and he might have eaten Nito and Priccila too and might be Smough or something and you fight him in Anor Londo and his religion is probably Abyss shit and etc etc. This cool Devourer of Gods thing is buried under ds1 bullshit. Coincidentally he takes up most of the game's runtime.
The undead legion is a cool idea, various undead from fallen kingdoms and walks of life coming together to fight the Abyss, but gets barely any attention besides Abyss Watchers, who are ridiculous Artorias fanboys.
Yhorm doesn't reference ds1 at all and only references 2 tangentially, and what do you know, he gets completely shafted. It's crunch time guys, gotta cut the capital down to a five minute walk and throw the Cursewood gimmick at Yhorm. But get that Seig quest in there, can't leave that out.
Angels are an interesting turn but are apparently just the ds1 serpents. Londor is cool but it's apparently just Kaathe making a dark lord again. Ludleth created an illusion of a place that just happens to have the same name as the ds1 hub and just happened to know Andre and made an illusion of him to. All the DS1 demons are hanging out in what's very clearly Izalith in corpse form even though it's fucking millennia after that fiasco. Same for the giant blacksmith still being in the inexplicably intact anor londo cathedral, who Andre apparently knew because why the fuck not?

Something interesting occurred to me.
If Gwynevre is the Queen of Lothric -and I'm not saying that she actually is, but if that theory ends up being true- then the 4 main game bosses shown in the DLC trailer: Oceiros, NK, Twin princes and Aldrich (Gwyndolin) represent every character in DaS3 with a direct relation to her. Her two brothers (one now a blob's meat-puppet), her husband and her three children.

In BB's dlc trailer, they showed a lot of main game footage, but it was all just to show off new weapons like the whirligig and boom hammer. The main game boss footage in 3 is all just generic player characters using broadswords and knight armor and rolling away (or getting hit by) attacks. The players don't use new gear and don't actually fight back, that footage is exclusively showing off those 4 bosses, as though the bosses themselves have some meaningful relation to the content of the dlc.

Do you think they're hinting at Gwynevere being related to this DLC? Perhaps the Snowy area depicted in the trailer is where she "quietly disappeared" to after birthing Ocelotte.

That is kind of funny. I don't think I would get to SL125 around the end of the playthrough unless I did a lot of jolly co-op. I didn't find a lot of it on ps4, probably due to the huge level disparity between areas and bosses I couldn't really find a good spot or level where I could help at 3-4 bosses consistently. But that could have been because it was during the month after release, and I am guessing there is dark souls 3 jolly co-op guide like there is for dark souls 1 by now.

The snowy chapel place is all but confirmed to be the real world or past version of the location of the painted world. The picture of the white haired guy is probably Ariamis, the hooded woman is probably the same as the statue of the hooded woman holding the baby in the Painted World courtyard.

That woman could be either Velka, Gwyn's wife/Pricilla's mother. They could also very well all be the same person seeing this is Dark Souls lore.
