Finally alliteration for now. Anon in the last thread gave me a thought, and vi rewatched countless of my older replays and leed and maulin end up dead 90% of the time OR i end up getting fucked over by something i discard, and that'll be happening more than ever now that abc+ BE entered the race. Searching xyz mats doesn't do shit since r4 alone can't win games this game and age, you need actual power plays and Ruris only have Ultimate Falcon and Revolution Falcon which both need RUMs to get out.
Their only other play is stalling and Double Force Strix and Readiness only gives you 2 turns to live.

The thing that really makes SPYRALs great though is that they've actually got great generic Extra Deck potential among other things. Things that Subterrors almost completely lack.

For an example, Quik-Fix searches a card on summon. This has no OPT restriction. With a Super Agent on the field you can discard a card to summon Quik-Fix from the graveyard. This has no OPT restriction.
This means that you can discard a card to summon Quik-Fix, search a card and then discard a card to summon Quik-Fix and search a card, only to discard a card again to summon Quik-Fix yet again and search a card. And you can do Synchro and Xyz plays and whatnot with these, and if you do Xyz plays you can just re-summon all of them all over again since none of this has any OPT restrictions and since they cover their own costs on summon.
Likewise with the drone. No OPT. The deck spy effect and the ATK buff is nice sure, but you can also banish these dudes to pick up Agents from your grave and you can do this multiple over since there is no OPT restriction. Meaning that you can summon and make multiple plays with the same Agent. In the same turn even. Whenever it's sent to the graveyard you just get it back.
And the fact that they can do all this from nothing but the graveyard is also a real strength. Even with an empty field and no hand. If you draw a card of any kind, you can banish a drone to pick up an Agent and summon the agent and then discard the card you drew to summon a Quik-Fix from the graveyard and grab a GEAR of your choice. Which also gives you the option to summon however many Quik-Fixes you have in your graveyard, and by the end of it you can simply grab a Big Red or something for additional plays. And you have gone from 0 to a full field.

If you make the argument that Subterrors can handle beatsticks just fine then sure. I wouldn't argue against that in the slightest. I will however make the argument that SPYRALs won't be mere beatsticks.

So even as they are now with their still extremely meagre toolbox capabilities, they still show signs of great resilience. Something that Subterrors really lack.
But SPYRALs also got really splendid toolbox potential, something that Subterrors again don't really have. Their field spell searches a Subterror of your choice, which is neat. But it's hard OPT and is extremely limiting. Meanwhile Quik-Fix has no restrictions, and they even has a not!PrematureBurial card that can also summon Quik-Fix and search more cards, and what's more Quik-Fix can search this card to begin with.

Yes SPYRALs are kind of lacking at the moment. Though Subterrors most certainly are too.
However, SPYRALs unlike Subterrors really do have their base covered. It really is impressive what they can do with what little they have.

Subterrors have much better consistency than SPYRALs.

Both decks can use RotA and Invoker, but outside of Quik-fix, theres really no what to search any SPYRAL card (including Quik-Fix, itself) without hindering yourself with cards like Left Arm Offering or Hidden Armory, but Subterrors have access to Terraforming, Pre-Prep, Tarotrei's ritual spell, Spirit of the Fall Wind and The Hidden City.

They can also be SS'd from the deck with cards like Coinorma and Nemesis Warrior, and have access to Tribute Burial, which can get rid of unusable monsters in the grave and also disrupt the opponents grave, along with summoning a huge monster.

Then there's the defense advantage that Subterrors have over SPYRALs.
Their large bodies alone are more than a match for weaker monsters, then throw a flip effect like Umastryx or PotF on top, and you've seriously hindered the opponent by just tanking an attack.
And we cant forget the Hidden City, acting like a slight defensive shield that can trigger both the flip effect and the graveyard SS effect of Nemesis Warrior at the same time (which allows you to protect your Behemoth from Solemn Strike, similar to how Return of the Monarchs protects Monarchs).

With the extra deck, Subterrors have access to R4s, R7s and R10s, with the core monsters, and R9s (specifically Enterblathnir, because all the others suck) with Tarotrei and PotF, and Nemesis Warrior being earth gives you access into Naturia Beast, just like SPYRALs have.

They have Terraforming. The RotA can search the Nemesis, but the Nemesis can't do anything on its own so it's not super impressive.
Fall Wind can search any flip monster on its normal summon, but it does eat your normal summon and does nothing else to set up plays.
Pre-prep searches and sets up Tarotrei and Tarotrei is a respectable monster but if she was all that was needed then prediction princesses would have been meta a long time ago.
The ritual also only searches Prediction Princesses. And while Coinorma can special summon from the deck (after having been flipped mind you) it also denies any Subterrors or non Prediction Princess monsters from using their effects. While it can be useful it's hardly some major glue of consistency.

I really have no idea why you would argue that they have much better consistency. You have pretty much admitted to how they only have the field spell and have to rely on Tarotrei.
Even if you have Coinorma, Tartrei is just about the only card that can actually trigger Coinorma and even if you get Coinorma's effect you get locked out of other effects.
Fall Wind is a neat searcher but it eats your normal summon and without Tarotrei you won't make any other plays.
Nemesis can get the Behemoth swarm going if you've got a bunch of Behemoths in your hand and already have a monster on the field beside the Nemesis. But that's a lot of ifs.

And even in terms of defence. Big Red actually provides destruction immunity. And then there's the normal Crystal Wing or Abyss for Synchro plays. Unless one was to go down the whole rank 1 into the Utopia thing for a mass swarm. There are quite a few things one could do.
Meanwhile try getting two level 7s, 10s, or 9s on the field without Tarotrei on the field. And even then Tarotrei only special summons at the end of the turn.

SPYRALs are open Quik-Fix or bust.
You're not searching Quik-Fix, and you're not searching Machine Duplication (outside of LAO), and that's pretty much the only way you have any hope of swarming the field.
Then there's only RotA for searching Agent, or Invoker, which SS's in defense, then dies in the end phase.
I've yet to see a competent and consistent SPYRAL deck.

With 6 ways (2 Terra, 3 field and RotA) to search Nemesis (7 if you count Invoker) on top of the 3 chances to draw into him, there's always an easy way to start your engine.
Then there's Stalagmo, which both acts as a Trade-in to give you draws, and an easy way to get Nemesis in the grave, where you can then flip Stalagmo face-down to either summon another Behemoth from hand, or to flip him again with either the battle protection or standard effect of the Hidden City, to SS Nemesis from the grave, giving you access into Umastryx from the deck, a R4 or just dodging targeting by sending another Stalagmo and tributing them both.

As for Big Red, that only protects from battle destruction, and that protection lasts as long as your opponent doesn't have MST, castel or Umastryx.
Whats your combo for going into Crystal Wing or Abyss? I doubt that its very consistent.

With the upcoming support, would demise aromages work very well? It's already a slow stun deck, though my only problem is that the new tuner is a hand trap. I'm also thinking about trying something with sage since he can search out the new tuner.

I suppose, though I will say any games I've won against meta decks with them has been with back-row heavy versions, even with the new stuff they're just an overall weaker synchro deck that can't deal with being behind on LP very well.

synchro doesnt just have to mean triple quasar crystal wing and an indestructible herald. if you can outfit your deck to consistently put out its boss and win games doing that, its a good deck that happens to synchro as opposed to fusion or xyz
