I think we have to think of BotW as its own stand alone game thats ties all the other titles together in terms of story if that makes sense. It seems like they're mixing timelines together kind of like you said but its all speculation until they release more info or release this game finally.

Skyward sword was an okay game, but easily the weakest 3D Zelda to date. I know I'll enjoy BoTW more because of less handholdy bullshit and back to traditional combat of pushing a button to swing the god damn sword.

The hardset Zelda game ever made has a swing button and a jump one. And nothing else.

You should really wait to see the game towards the end. The best games are the one with a regular difficulty curve. That's why Dark Souls games are not my cup of tea. A game should start easy and become hard, not being hard and stay hard.

Which game? Because if you're talking about Zelda II, it's hard because of bad game design. Nothing more, nothing less.

Difficulty curve has nothing to do with versatility of player input vs enemy response. Basic actions on the part of the player requires a basic response on the part of the enemy.
Other than enemies being able to one-shot Link, which in itself is a cheap means of difficulty, we've seen nothing so far that actually looks difficult.

For those that don't have wiimotes, the bundles won't be expensive since the bundle would be the same price. I remember that. While Wind Waker ended up being loved, people were still shitting on it for being cartoony and cel shaded. It was fun and adorable, but people wanted a gritty realistic Zelda.

So they show a trailer for a zelda game with the least-cartoony graphics, stylized for dramatic fantasy, with everything lit by flames and the phrase "Blades will bleed."

They advertised a mature Zelda game. and we ate it up.

TP ended up being considerably more mild than that trailer implied, though.

I fully admit to being ignorant of actual details regarding the NX, because last I had checked all we had were rumors, an unintentionally confirmed date, and a list of games that would be on both platforms.

Is it weaker? I've heard rumors on both sides of the aisle, rumors that suggest it is stronger and rumors that suggest it is weaker.

The only relatively consistent thing I've heard is that the controller has a screen, and be detached from the main console. Whether that's like the WiiU's gamepad in that it simply streams video and input data between itself and the base processing hardware or if the detachable part has its own independent processor hasn't been revealed, to my knowledge.

The power of the device could be in line with Nintendo's handheld platforms, or in line with the home consoles, or potentially both, with some games taking a graphical hit when the controller is detached.

Yet even that detail seems to still be largely rumored, at this point.

As I said last general, though, I've got more than one fire right now. If we've got more NX details, confirmed or at least seriously credible, I'm all ears.
