You die you lose your stacks which makes it a gamble.
The spiders do low damage but often making gathering power as a % modifier useless, the same goes for zombie wall but using it as damage is not it's main focus so this is minor.
Leaving only your toads as the main benefactor but again without toads of hugeness and landing them at a good distance the damage increase again isn't large.
Gargantuan has a good synergy with gathering power.
Spirit leaves you too open to dying and losing your stacks as it makes you stationary, making it's use increase on the gamble factor of gathering power.
If you don't take spider cluster then leaping spiders becomes alot less effective and the other talents in that tier are lack luster in my eyes.

Keep in mind when reading those stats, certain talents are better against certain comps and might be selected for oddly specific situations. Some things can be a bit misleading. But it's a nice guideline.

Even grand/master is a bit inconsistent. I've played with people who have been boosted to master (GM is a joke) and some are mediocre. Like a 50/100 (100 being absolute best player) And it's common to see. Rank as a whole is an indication, an average. But by no means a for-sure pin-point measure.

Rank 1 was easy to get preseason and a HUGE portion of the player base managed to get it.
Everyone who got rank 1 ended up in diamond.
Some ranks 1's were good players. Some rank 1's were shitters that played a lot or got boosted by higher ranked people.
Diamond is a mess of all skill levels right now. No rank decay means that any asshole that did placements and got diamond then stopped playing ranked will still be diamond next season.
It's going to be a long time until players will actually be the skill that the rank will have you believe they should be.

Could you imagine a map wherein the objective spawns a payload for each team, and reaching the destination destroys the entire outward most section of a lane. Push your own payload whilst also trying to stop them from pushing theirs.

Or a KOTH-style map wherein the objective spawns, an d it's a control point, and the longer your team spends on the point, the more damage it deals to the opposing team's structures by the time the objective timer ends. Reduced spawn timers to compensate for the type of objective it is.

Not sure what to tell you about the meta, as playing the game is vastly differently than shit that happens in "Pro" games. They're two entirely different things, really. The shared XP changes this game up enough to the point where the difference between a good and bad player, is that a good player will realize when you need to forsake your team to soak experience in an empty lane, they will know when to push a lane when the odds of securing an objective are against you, etc. Etc.

Welp as a tip to a new player I would say XP is the most important thing in the game

If there isn't anything happening in the match (for example an objective) you must soak XP in the lane

Excessive team fighting is a mistake that new players usually make, for avoiding it, when a team fight is about to start ask yourself "Why are we fighting for"
If the answer is "nothing" or something that just is not woth for (for example, vision) let it go and soak xp
Objectives, buildings, bosses, even mercenary camps sometimes are woth teamfighting for

And onbviosly, for a good team fight you need to be at the same level of your enemy or as much 1 or 2 behind (thats why XP is so important)

Oh yeah, to add to this guy's post, XP gains from kills start out very low and grow with match time. So what this means is that a kill at the very beginning of a game is worth as much expereince as a single wave of minions. Meaning chasing early kills is fucking worthless, and like this guy said, chasing for kills is basically a trap for new players. Kills for the most part, for the majority of the game, is mostly for denying the enemy team the objective, or picking off one or two people to throw the numbers uneven so, once again, your team has to upperhand over the objective.

It's all about that objective in this game. However, there ARE maps wherein the strength of the objective can be offset purely by rushing a lane or splitpushing, shit like that, because structures give experience. Takes a good player to acknowledge when and when not to play to the objective and shit like that.
