Some stuff I learned from trying out girls frontline in case people are interested. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong because these are just my thoughts on the game after playing it for a while.

- The game has lots of English on the buttons and in random places. Probably for the "cool" factor but it ends up making stuff easier for a English player and helps you get into it without needing UI translations.

- The Chinese servers and Japanese servers will get Japanese voices. Apparently the Chinese know that JP voices are superior.

- The game has a LOT of similarities to Kancolle. If you've played boats before then you'll probably get the hang of things quick and quickly understand how stuff works.

- Rarity isn't everything in this game which can be disappointing if you pull a high rarity unit that happens to suck or save you if you pull a lower rarity unit that happens to be great (Just like in kancolle).

- Related to the above one, some 2* units are actually nice like a couple 2* handguns and there's some amazing 3* units.

- Doing the equivalent of a "Limit break" on 5* units can be expensive/painful if you're a new player so think twice before you LB or multiple units. The cost to do it goes up on stage 3 and 4 but I haven't gotten there yet.

I've got a crummy summary of chapter 6 somewhere. I usually have it expire because it was mostly from memory and possibly inaccurate but it's also a lot longer than usual. But quick rundown of most chapters:

>They get ambushed and lost their powers but only because Asuha and co started using them
>Ch2 is meeting the students and asking why they became Hoshimori

>Ch3 is recapturing a bridge that has a duo enemy that needs perfect timing to defeat
>After trying everyone, Kurumi and Sakura end up being the best pair and they successfully recapture the bridge
>Ch4 they encounter evolved Irous so spend extra time training
>They overcome the new boss but also encounter Sadone, who's pissed that they're bullying her friends
>Ch5 Moon and Mars colonies sent drones to Earth to fight Irous
>They turn on everyone due to the miasma blocking signals. After the girls save the moon colony from rogue bots, Sadone brings the bots to Evina

I have gotten 3 5-win sets so far out of about 20 that I have played, 2 with blood and one with dragon. Every time I've play with sword or shadow, I've ran up against that one haven deck with perfect draws that makes me feel like running against a brick wall.

shadow is way too powerful in take two. i've found no reason not to take it every time

Here are the basics.

Arena is extremely late game focused.

Choose high value cards or cards that generate value in general and avoid cards with conditions to get the best of them.

While it's nice to be able to make a curve or start with a playable hand, avoid taking too many low cost cards as top decking them is basically a death knell in arena. The best low cost cards are the ones that offer draw value generally.

Hope you start second. Clear curves are nearly impossible to make in arena so the first turn advantage is severely hampered. The extra value gained from an evolve orb and extra card advantage due to the extra draw is far more useful in the late game oriented format.

Otohime, Floral Fencer, and Sage Commander.

High amount of bodies(Pompous Princess, Oathless Knight, etc) in general mean single removal cards are very inefficient.

Storm is a valuable trait late game and so Sword isn't disadvantaged too hard for taking a lot of quickbladers and novice troopers. Alvida's Command in particular is fantastic.

Holy cow, I just had the most exciting Haven vs Sword match in arena.

Got sent to 2 health, healed back to 7, then gets sent to 1 again, all while he's almost full. He then sets up a kill board, and I topdeck Jeanne and eventually win.

Guys, I think I'm finally good at arena now.
I've gotten 4 or 5 wins in my past 7 drafts. I played sword twice, shadow twice, dragon twice and haven once.

One of my 5s were with Dragon, two were with Shadow. One of the Sword's should have been a 5 since I drafted a really nice deck, but I got DCed first game.

This mode is really addicting if you keep winning back your payment. I have no motivation to stop if there's no net loss.

Bathing Kaede should be good for thundercunt. Comes out fast and gives anyone staying the area a ranged shield too, which is the only thing that prevents storm from cancelling.

The damage from the traps and enemies is so small it doesn't really matter unless you're low level. You can just set up a pincer and stick the power point in the kill zone and the grabby guy will just run to it and set you up for next turn. Thanks to power points every turn, Coin Creeps is best done with a bunch of low SB characters alongside your coin boosters. Zeera's Heal All is all the healing you need unless you keep running laps on the traps for no reason..

Golems really seem like the way to go regarding Arena witch. Earthrite cards are generally safe picks since they're usually good value all on their own, and become nuts with a sigil. You just have to be careful not to overdraft sigils, since those will make your deck terrible on top of clogging the board.

By comparison I had a wind blast and lightning shooter because "they're just great value" but they were probably the biggest liability in the deck. I also had an Arcane Enlightenment (it was stuck to satan in the draft) that didn't get played a single time. Fiery Embrace was the only spellboost card that was actually decent.

I think one of the worst parts about take two is that the legendary/gold drop rate is so high. Basically everyone has multiple legendaries and it's kind of obnoxious because a lot of them(and gold cards) are huge bombs in arena since your answers are far more limited and RNG dependent. It just compounds the already awful balance of the mode. It doesn't help that sword has insanely good leggos and shadow has insanely good gold cards. They really messed up with this format.

That's pretty much the major issue. Like with Shadowcraft, you're pretty much always going to get good cards, all of which can easily turn the game around. Not only that, but even it's bronze and silvers are all incredibly good. Swordcraft does have a bit more RNG in comparison to Shadowcraft, since it has quite a few trash rares and silvers.

The cafe, to me, relies heavily on the novelty of the experience there. So if it doesn't keep repeat customers in the same way a maid cafe does, they are certainly doing something wrong

They don't really detail the S cards, just mention the new skills: Afterbath Nozomi is for her boost and says there's not much opportunity to make use of Afterbath Kaede's poison. And there's no SSS or SS, which is what they would consider necessary for tests.

In theory, all of the factions are equally guaranteed to have ridiculous good cards while also not being guaranteed any answers. Part of the imbalance must be, then, that some factions have better average golds/legendaries than others. Stuff like Mordekai/Death's breath in shadow's gold pool, for example, make me lean to agreeing that there's probably an imbalance there.

I'm feeling like arena greatly favors playing on tempo, card advantage, and value plays, which is why a swordcraft going second who can play on curve into turn 4 Floral Fencer is rough. Same with fucking Mordecai, like you said, and he's not even a legendary! Like there's a fucking reason in Magic mythics are not guaranteed and cards that would completely break limited formats are thrown into the mythic slot. But since they're guaranteed here the imbalance is insane. MIght as well just pay 150 gold and roll some dice honestly. It'd save us all the trouble.
Also the entire swordcraft class breaks the format: even though Shadow is technically better you HAVE to draft as many board clears as you see just because that's the only way to beat Swordcraft, even if it's a lower quality one and it's paired with a really shitty useless card. And if you don't get any/only pick up an angelic barrage you'll most likely have a hard time winning since sword is fucking everywhere.

I agree with the assessment that there is a card imbalance, but not with tempo. Arena generally favours the long game because not everyone is going to build decent curve, which is why Havan can actually be decent since games are most likely going to draw out longer.

I also disagree with sword being so strong in arena. It requires good synergy between commanders and officers and lacking one or the other often screws up your deck, which most of the time turns sword into poverty aggro which shadow and forest already do better in arena.

I think that in a few weeks time, people are going to drop sword a rank or two in arena while shadow with will be indisputably at the top

Just looking at the card should tell you it's practically worthless.

6/6 on a 5 body would be decent if not for the fact it lost 2 attack every turn(since it does not have storm, it will be 4/6 by the time you can attack with it unless you evolve her) and self-damages for 2 unless you're in vengeance.

Compare her with Aurelia for example, 5 cost for 2/6 normally, but with ward, and potentially 7/6 stats and hexproof depending on enemy board state. Purely positive traits and she's never worse than Angelic Shield Maiden which actually isn't that bad a card in general.

Fucking BGHS, man. The levels of lewd in this game are just going up and up and up. I just did after bath Kurumi's secret lesson, and sensei gave Kurumi a full-body mud pack. The staff confused him for a worker there and gave him a mask to wear. I think tempo-ing out threats every turn is as powerful in arena as it is anywhere else. The reason the long game is more viable in arena is because sometimes your opponent -doesn't- do that, not because tempo is somehow less valuable. Compare to hearthstone arena where you want to curve out something starting on turn 2 onward or you get fucked pretty quick.

Value per card is also strong for arena, which adds a lot to Haven since each card has inflated stats at the cost of being slower. It also makes Floral Fencer, Otohime, Death's Breath, Mordekai, and a bunch of other cards very nice.

I'm not sure if Sword is the top end of the power scale or not for arena. That requires knowing the overall win rate. But what I was saying is that a sword that curves out from turn 1/2 to 4, ending in a floral fencer with evolution point is very hard to deal with in arena. Especially if you don't have AoE or early game wards. I'm not saying it's easy to achieve every time, but it happens.

I've played a lot of games as and against sword where no floral fencers hit the field. I feel that you're lucky if you get even one of her and since she's completely vital to transitioning at turn 4, if sword doesn't get her they are at a huge disadvantage. This is on top of the possibility of getting shit synergy with no good commanders too.

Remember, sword's biggest strength is building perfect curve, often midrange, with its cards. That's a luxury in arena and you often end up with poverty aggro at best without it.

That's the thing. If you go back to the first onsen event, sensei would do his best to try to run away from the various "Hey, my student is naked!" situations, but this time, he just takes advantage of the situation like you said. Since he's given the mask, his brain just thinks, "Oh, my student isn't supposed to know it's me, so trying to run away would be too suspicious!"

And now I'm in the middle of doing Nozomi's secret lesson. This time, sensei massages Nozomi's whole body while Nozomi is somehow high off of aromatherapy fumes. He massages her shoulders, her legs, her arms, her hips, and her head.

I think there's enough data to write a study about the correlation between liking dubs and being a horrible human being.

Both the writer and you have never had a massage before.
They are at a spa. Everything is for maximum relaxing, including the aromatherapy candles and massages. It's probably why Nozomi's afterbath card art has her waking up, because such massages are relaxing enough to fall asleep from.

And I'd think massages is something Sensei is good at, since the girls tend to ask for them at various times. Haruka asks for massages all the time from her usual classroom phrases, should be one of the few English words you catch her saying.
