Yogg is alright but kind of dumb. It feels like Deathwing except it has worse stats, it can randomly kill you but you typically get to keep your hand.

I have tried getting Spawn of Nzoth to work in my zoo deck and it just isn't good enough, the few occasions you get it working it is good, but mostly it falls flat.

Comboing it with shadowflame may work better but that is 7 mana.

The inspire cards are all overcosted, so you pay anywhere from 1 to 3 mana more for a minion, then extra 2 mana on top of that for inspire. It's just really mana inefficient. Even in arena, you never drop inspire minions on curve if you can help it because 6-mana for a 3/5 or 4-mana for a 3/4 is shit unless you get to use the inspire.

He generates regular legendaries (follows deckbuilding restrictions). He's extremely shoddy, as he dilutes your deck with what's often garbage, lowering your chances of drawing the cards you specifically put in your deck. Also, since it does follow deckbuilding, if you wanted a legendary off of Malchezaar, you would have put it in your deck, and can't get duplicates (Still bad in Reno, since it lowers the odds of drawing Reno). Even in fatigue decks, which don't work right now, you would rather draw your Fiery War Axe than The Boogeymonster on turn 2.

It would obviously be strong, but I don't think it'd be unreasonably so. Playing a 3/2 on turn 3 is pretty underwhelming tempo wise and you're getting maybe 1.5 mana of value above the curve. Not really crazy when you look at rogue's current position in the meta (nowhere).

But regardless, even if that ended up being too strong, the fork could cost 1 mana to equip and it would still make deadly fork a 2 mana overcosted piece of crap.

Never understood this. I started during naxx release (when they gave the free first wing for awhile). I eventually got burned out on it around old gods release, too, and quit in May. I just started up again this month (so about 3 months off or so) and I've actually been having a lot of fun playing it on the side, I've come back refreshed. Taking a break was one of the best decisions I could have made, and I thought I had quit forever like you, too. I didn't dust my entire fucking collection like a retard though.

You know what I did? I got into some other fucking games. I have a HUGE backlog on steam of highly lauded games I got when they were extremely on sale. I also got into Rocket League which renewed my love of competitive video games. It looks visually stunning, sounds great, playing it with a controller is fun as fuck and most important, it's fully balanced and 100% skill based. There really is little to no luck in the game play itself, the better player WILL win if everyone is playing their best and paying attention. You can get into it as a newbie and just fuck around, but there is so much depth to the game mechanics (mostly dealing with kinematics in 3 dimensions and reflexes) that I've spent almost 350 hours in the game to date and I still feel like there is a lot I can improve on. There are top pro's who have put in upwards of 1k-2k hours.

But I've also just got into a lot of good games in general, like I beat Dark Souls 3 and put a good 300 hours into that doing pontiff duels and invasions at various levels, and have been working my way through DS 1 and 2 now as well.

Case in point: if you (any of you on /hsg/) are feeling "burnt out" on Hearthstone, take a break. Just stop fucking playing for 1-2 months. Play other games, try something new. If you're the competitive type, look into games that are instead 100% skill based

Hearthstone isn't competitive because of the heavy RNG, just play it as a fun side hobby. Don't take it so seriously.

Dude... you're doing it wrong.

The "grind" to legend is actually fun in the sense that it takes real effort and feels like an actual accomplishment because of all the bullshit you have to overcome, but then you get the cardback and ultimately should never try to do it again, it's a once in a lifetime thing you do so that grind is fine.

Other than that you should just play for dailies every couple of days or when you feel like it for fun without caring about winning or losing for the most part. That's hardly a grind.

If you really can't even be assed to play the game even for dailies then you're probably burnt out and it's probably time to take a break for a couple of months. Do something else with your time, at least play other vidya. Then you can come back and it will be fun again, I speak from personal experience. Think of it like a tolerance break.

If you hate it because you take it seriously and think skill should allow you to win 100% of the time instead of just working with overal winrate percentages, then you're fucking retarded.

Paladin portal is the worst and has a chance to summon Doomsayer and fuck board centric deck completely (and what other deck will run it to spread stats among multiple bodies?) . It barely creates 9 points of stats for 4 mana and has no other utility.

Shaman portal is a better version of twilight flamecaller. 1 mana, scales with Spell Power and summons about the same body or lucky trogg.

I wish people would learn this. I just play anyfin and farm those aggroshitters all damn day, it's glorious and I feel like I'm doing the world a favor at the same time.

Literally my favorite thing to do in the game is to deal with aggro's shit for 10+ turns while always keeping myself just out of reach of death in any way via healing, and watch as they struggle in desperation to kill me only for all their shit to die and for all their damage to me to be healed. As they still keep playing and use every card in their hand, only for me to be sitting at a cool 20+ health with a full grip at the start of my turn and a board. Oftentimes I don't even get to play anyfin, they finally concede when they reach that point that they finally realize all hope is lost. Often they rope me at that point before conceding. That is the moment I cherish the most in the game.

Delicious salty aggroshitter tears. Nothing better.

I've always had the most success with zoo; there are a lot of little decisions to make like how aggressively to tap, which keeps me from falling asleep, and it just completely tears apart any deck which isn't tier 1 (which you'll see a lot of before rank 5)

Of course Zoo is aggro, because for half of the players "aggro" means "aggressive" and not your stupid Magic/OtherCCG definition of "aggro" as an archetype. Hearthstone already has its own terms for archetypes:

1. Face
2. Aggro
3. Midrange/Tempo
4. Control
5. Combo

Face Shaman is face. Zoo is aggro. Dragon Warrior is aggro/midrange. Midrange Paladin is midrange. Etc.

See how much clearer this? Instead of having to say "i dislike the new trend of aggressive midrange decks like dragon warrior and miss the old slower midrange decks like paladin" you can just say "fuck aggro".

Instead we have a bunch of contrarian fucks constantly going on about how X deck isn't aggro because it's really """midrange""" (or whatever bullshit archetype people make up for zoo). You know what people mean when they say aggro, and it's not just face hunter/shaman.

Thalnos is all about the flexibility. You get card draw and spell power in a single, high priority target. Thalnos is a threat that cannot be left on the board, so an early Thalnos is great for baiting out a War Axe or some premium removal because a smart opponent knows what Thalnos represents. Kobold and Loot Hoarder are not great cards individually, so by combining them into one card you save space in your deck and add a significant threat at the same time.

There is a reason everyone plays him over Loot Hoarder or Kobold. He's a direct improvement in every way. He also fits in pretty much any deck and is a Classic card so you'll never not find a use for him.

What's the point of playing cancer decks like zoo and face shaman if EVERYONE is playing these decks?

Standard removed them and no replacement has been printed, there are no more good neutral taunts and heals anymore. Meanwhile cards like trogg and golem cannot be dealt with effectively by 7/9 classes.

Reactive options are so much worse than proactive ones, so the decks with the highest winrates are the ones with the strongest statted curves. Warrior and Shaman just try to out curve each other, because playing catch up in HS is like trying to swordfight with your limp dick.

Control decks that are good against aggro? I've been playing anyfin and absolutely smashing aggro decks, I run 2 forbidden healing and most of my deck is just healing, speed bumps, and card draw until I can combo. Often against aggro I don't even get to play anyfin, I just run them out of cards before I even get to that point and they concede. Seems like Kibler's YoggFeast priest deck has been putting in some serious work as well on the ladder. Possibly C'Thun or some sort of Fatigue warrior as well but I can't say I'm very knowledgeable about warrior, I know they can run into problems smacking their face into minions to remove them.

Generally stuff with good removal, healing, and card draw though, basically.

VanCleef before Thalnos if you're serious about laddering with Rogue. He's a win condition on his own.

I crafted Thalnos when I wanted to play Miracle and didn't regret it at all. He's a solid card that will always see play in meta decks.

Play either zoolock or midrange Hunter. Those are the cheapest good decks. A perfect zoo deck needs two legendaries but without them, the deck is perfectly serviceable. Midrange Hunter only needs 2 epics and 2 adventure cards from BRM which you can skip if you're really on a budget.

Problem is that if you make any other deck that can beat Zoo besides the Orange Cancer, you will lose against the Orange Cancer.

It's currently Warrior and Zoo dominated meta because Zoo is extremely fast games and a good deck. So even if you lose, you didn't waste much time. Warrior on the other hand is played because it actually can defeat Zoo and will fuck up pretty much everything else.
So if you counter Zoo, you have other people hard countering you with Warrior. If you counter Warrior, you have Zoo hard countering you.

It's obviously not all so black and white, but that's the gist of it.

Except that like I was saying, Anyfin is good against all 3 of those decks. Its only real downsides are that the game are generally longer (but not really, especially against meta decks on ladder they usually give up by turn 10 or so compared to aggro decks finishing around turn 6-7) and you can lose to getting fucked with your mulligan/draws (but that can happen to any deck and like 2/3rd's of your deck is 4 or less mana anyways).

You mainly lose to shit like freeze mage or fatigue warrior but those see almost no play, it's mostly dragon warrior, shaman, zoo, and hunter.

The main argument for playing shit like zoo is that it's a braindead deck that mostly plays itself, you just dump your hand in most cases and then play doomguard and/or start drawing and playing 2 cards a turn. Main problem I have with meta decks in general is that you will often play against the mirror and then it's a literal 50/50 coinflip which is kinda lame, it's just who draws better.

I dpn't even play zoo that much but you're VASTLY underrating the deck. Don't get me wrong, a shit zoo players can still steal wins. But to maximize your win rate you have to pay attention to a lot of details, like how to position your minions to best benefit from Dire Wolf or Argus (even if they're not in your hand), how and how much play around board clears, how much you can tap before endangering yourself, how to setup a discardless Doomguard etc.
IMO a zoo played well is harder than a control warrior, wich is a pretty brainless deck even if controlcucks will defend it (ctrl pala is already harder)

I'm not vastly underrating the deck, I just don't think any of those things you mentioned are hard to do. In fact I'd think they're pretty much common sense and should be obvious to anyone who has played the deck for even just one day.

If anything, maybe I'm just overestimating the general hearthstone player population. Maybe most people are a lot dumber than I give them credit for.

Same with anyfin btw, but to a larger degree of difficulty because you need to know which cards are important in which matchups, when to use your removal/board clears to maximize their effectiveness, when to use your heals, etc. It's harder to play since you aren't just mindlessly playing on curve and hoping it all works out with your OP minions and buffs or burn, so I can understand how in the same way people might be retarded enough to not be able to understand dire wolf/argus placement or dumping your hand before doomguarding (or at least dumping all the cards that matter), there are probably plenty of people who play Anyfin and lose a lot because they don't know how their cards work or why they're good. They'll pyro EQ too early or they won't keep swamp ooze against shaman or other things along those lines.

It's hard to say in a truly objective way, though. The main arguments for shit like zoo and aggro shaman and the like is that they're pretty brainless play-on-curve decks with cheap overstatted minions that will usually carry you in many situations. I guess I'm mostly just making the case that you can play a deck that requires more thinking (I mean, not significantly more imo but more than braindead aggro flood/burn decks) and maybe plays a bit more slowly but you can be rewarded with a higher win rate if you git gud at playing it.
