Right now he's very situational. He can stomp hard unless enemy team has at least one McCree, Reaper or Hog, which is basically 100% of the games. And if their aforementioned hero is bad enough to let you stomp still, someone will surely swap just to bury your monkey face into the ground.

How bad do you have to be to get queued up with people doing placements? I'm helping a friend through them so he can get a rank before the season ends, I'm 62.

We're getting put into teams with 4-man queues where everyone is ranked, and they have stars. And they're getting thrown in with somebody doing their placement.

Like, is it an MMR thing? How shit do you have to be to queue up after getting your rank this close to the end of the season, and still be getting thrown in with people doing placements.

Holy shit, just played and grouped with a D. Va and Zarya and we killed it, ranked up 4 ranks, at one point we were getting entire rank ups per game.

Our offense was retarded. We were completing Assault maps in ~2 minutes, one time on Anubis we got Team Kill 3 times.

We were really weak on KOTH maps but all in all it was a good fucking night. Went like 10-3

Lucio is just... eugh. He's fun on Illios for the same reasons as Pharah (fuck you, get tossed off a cliff - factor) but otherwise he's very bland. Speed amped up in, switch to healing, switch back when topped off, revert once damage is taken, maintain if enemy snipers have a presence, press Q when under serious pressure, fire at long targets, BOOMF close ones. You can never have speed on long enough to go proper Jet Set Radio and mess with the enemy team because your guys need healing beats. The most fun I've had is stalling an entire team from 3 minutes into overtime just by wall-riding and booping but you can't do that if you're tied down and euuuuuuuugh.

Defense Matrix is good for ult cock-blocks but I had more consistent defense with the barrier and the pulse shotties felt rather underwhelming. I didn't get playing her attack if that's a factor.

Symmetra is eh with me. I'm always facing a great one and stuck with a bad one. Either it's non-stop enemies flowing in or "Where's our teleporter?" and it turns out they not only hid it when setting it up but also managed to get it instantly blown up.

Read: almost all of them. D.Va isn't BETTER than Rein in the strictest sense, but her mobility and general ability to be a huge nuisance brings different stuff to the table than Rein does.

If you want to hunker down and hold a choke point, or press forward in a slow but steady fashion, go Rein.
If you want to harass the enemy, delete ultimates, or push a point really quickly, go D.Va.

Theres a fair few but off the top of my head, Numbani Attack stands out for D.Va due to the various paths to get to point A; and then all the side paths and vertical places along the map.
She is one of the few characters who can come in from the TOP walkways but has the advantage of bulky HP to make it viable.
Just flank, locate squishies, boost body check into your target and punch them, shoot them in the head a bit, pop matrix to absorb the first wave of "oh shit someone is here focus them" fire, and then either hunker down if you team is close alternating shooting and matrix, or fly back out with matrix up if you team is still being stalled.
Also use health packs. Bonus if you chase a squishy who is going for a HPack and you boost past them to it first.

Payload maps Rein does have the advantage because the payload is slow.
