Dark Knight is very combo-based. They implemented an entire system into the game to give it super sweet combos. It becomes one of the strongest classes in the game after a later revamp, too, which is nice. Also not super popular.

Elven Knight is pretty combo-based. You play a Gears of War style active reload sort of minigame whenever you use your attacks, hard to explain. Point is that it leads to attacks being stronger the more you keep up the chain. Really weak for how much work it takes, but whatever.

f.ranger gets holds/movement and bleed inflict in exchange for less damage. if you look at it objectively, m.ranger simply has higher damage. the gap is quite small around the gracia level of gear, and becomes more apparent as you pour more gold/luck into the class. though if you're going deep on a ranger you're probably going to end up shitting out damage regardless
