Pretty much. Maybe more END if the weapons you want cost more stamina on average.

Ignore Vitality unless you want to wear some really heavy shit, it is completely useless as a stat otherwise. Also ignore Luck unless you plan to do a very specific build type I would only recommend after beating the game once.

parrying makes the fight easier, but you'll need to figure out the timings first. i think almost all his attacks can be parried, but the ones he does with Profaned Greatsword are easier to parry it seems. when you try to parry the opening jump you should be on top of those stairs in the middle of the room or your parry might not register if he's above you when he lands
if you want to kill him without parrying, it's good to always stay very close to him in both phases. in phase 1 it will limit his moveset and he won't do some attacks that are difficult to avoid like quick forward swipe with Profaned sword and 6 hit combo. he will only do side swipes and their followups, slide into stab and slide into Profaned swipe. remember that he will do side swipes when you're standing near his arm and you'll have easier time rolling them. you can dodge slide into stab by just walknig out of the way (i think it's easier to do unlocked) and if you dodge slide into swipe by rolling diagonally to your right, the followup swipe will go over your head and you can hit him while he's doing it.
in phase 2, it's good to stay close and in front of him, because the real one can attack independently from the clone if you're to his side and that causes desync and can be very hard to deal with, so even if you dodge to the side, try to get in front of him quickly. walking around (but not sprinting) can help you see what the clone is doing. it's better to keep the clone alive, because Pontiff starts to behave weirdly when he's alone in phase 2

Don't worry, man. Spears are a mystery of the universe to me, too. I never had a clue on how you're supposed to approach them if you're not using a shield. My first idea is to always move to the side, but that shit never works. Speaking of shields, I should probably actually upgrade my Grass Crest Shield. I never bothered to in other Souls games, never seemed like it mattered. Now I have like 3 instances of it mattering on footage.

Also, I'm glad I was offhandedly able to help your friend get into the game. I never really thought people would share these things.

Just started up Dark Souls 3 for the first time, played Demon's when it came out and DaS when it was in it's heydey, only played a bit of 2 and have been on Bloodborne pretty much the last year.

They originally planned the anime spin as the WA.

The change was seemingly made last-minute, since the Farron GS is still missing a running L1 and the hitbox on the rolling L1 is broken. I assume they probably thought that, since the spins where the thing that made the moveset fun, they might as well be unlimited use and save the work of needing to design dagger moves for the L1s.

I just can't think of any way to balance it without making it objectively broken.

I just wish it had some sort of extremely high skillcap wombo combo or something since you can angle the second part of the L1 combat in such a way that you character will literally do a 900, but the hitbox refueses to hit twice even though the sword's model collides with the player model perfectly

Backstabbing someone off the ground like that is bullshit desu-ka. But yeah, I don't use it in a "real" environment because people aren't worth playing against. Ultra Weapons are exploitable as all hell, and people online aren't going to give you an inch for fun's sake. There've been times I've gone hollow and started Bloodring Gotthard Rolling L1ing all day, because people just wouldn't let me be anything else. I've done that more in DaS3 than I ever have in DaS1 or DaS2. I play those games more often now, but I jump in for a /dsg/ fight club whenever I can. The attitude's different. Likeminded people would be the generic and kind of pretentious answer, but not sure what else if not that.

But don't mind me, I'm just crestfallen.

Giving FGS a 130 Crit Modifier would probably cause people to start parry fishing like a motherfucker, and would probably cause an issue where someone parries, swaps their shield to a FGS and hornet ripostes for broken damage. FGS would be overused if it had hyperarmor on the L1s so that you'd be able to L1 all day with your only worries being losing a trade you very possibly just jumped into, and getting parried.

I use Iron Flesh entirely for the hyper armor. The defense is certainly welcome, I mean holy shit this webm, but I use it mostly so my L1's can't be interrupted by someone hitting first.

It only happens right before the active frames. The HA I'm talking about is if the jump had hyper armor. Then people would fucking flock to it, it'd be a new Dark Sword but only for a month until people learn how to parry it or just avoid the attacks. I'm not exactly sure how to balance the thing myself. The best process for balancing is to ask what's wrong, come up with a bunch of reasons why it's wrong, and then a couple reasons why it keeps happening, and then constantly test out all the changes you make to try to fix it. Lord knows From ain't ever done anything like that. What I do know is that the issue is that I have trouble closing in on people with fast weapons, because I keep getting stunned by their fast weapons, because you can stun me out of the attack on reaction.

Also, I assume it was Dog that was complaining about kicks before. In the moment, I was worried that you could just kick people out of the L1 and he did that to tell me to stop being an L1 spamming shitter.

I have to have good spacing or else I can't approach. Like I said in the post, the issue I keep having is that I have a really hard time getting close without getting hit. My current solution is Iron Flesh and some running around like I'm a DaS2 showoff. And (I guess I should respond to >>151590967 as well because why not) because of how short they made Iron Flesh, I have to buff in the middle of a fight so they're less likely to just walk away from it until it runs out. At least when I make myself vulnerable, they come at me and I have a chance to get some use out of it, but sometimes I buff when I have a health lead so I can seal the deal if they ever try hitting me. Webm old, but related to that last point.

Int was actually the most fun I have had so far, using the immolation tinder and the candlestick sword. Best part was I had spells to cheese most of the parts I hated doing, and the flashsword and soul greatswords feel like good r2 attacks anyway.
