MGSVTPP was such a let down, especially since I got hooked on Ground Zeroes and wanted to 100 percent that shit. GZ was what I expected the "new" metal gear experience to be - improved Peace Walker mission format with story and narative peppered in, with even more story and context hidden in every mission with side objectives (like capturing / extracting alive the two HVT's you are supposed to assassinate gives you an alternative ending)

Instead all I got with TPP is no story and carrying 2 tranq guns + fulton fucking everything, and then call in an Airdrop when I need more fulton and more suppressors.

Siege is a let down because they had a really good meta on launch. Not GREAT, some pretty amateurish flaws on Operator balance, but whatever. But Ubisoft seems determined to just shit on the game. They have added this roaming meta meme as the sole meta of the game, added Blackbeard, buffed Pulse while Tachanka and Montagne just shit in the corner like the little unpicked bitches in the playground , and everybody has Nitrocells now. I've never seen a dev team so incompetent in my life. It wouldn't be so bad if Siege had a number of "unbalanced" gameplay modes, but we have 3 modes that largely play the same.

Overwatch is whatever and it's getting boring, but atleast Blizzard cares enough to listen to the players, try and balance their heroes, and do cool shit. Lucioball is dumb, but atleast it's something new to do for a few hours, it's not permanent, and all the summer game skins and limited edition items are neat.

I just want Ubisoft to have the competence and design philosophy of Blizzard, to make Siege the best game it can be.

Siege is legitimately the most fun I've had playing a multiplayer game in a long time. Sure, there's flaws, but the mechanics are still fun as hell to play with. You can complain all you want, but you can definitely counter a team of roamers if you stick together and take out the nearest one and then work from there. Blackbeard is peeking windows on the Open Area in Consulate. You have three options.
A. Rush from outside and die to somebody waiting for a guy to kill Blackbeard
B. Toss Nitro and hope it does something
C. Rush him with an auto shotgun and still die because the shield covers all but a tiny bit of his head and you can't shoot the four shots needed to break his shield before he just unloads on you

Counters to Blackbeard are not Blackbeard counters, they're general game counters. Flanking, nitro, crossfire etc. He's an incredibly generic operator that adds nothing to his team ability wise. Well we don't know his pick rate, and assessing statistics you need to look at "why" the stats are a certain way. Comparing vanilla op's to vanilla op's, yeah if one is getting picked more than another there is probably a reason for it. That reason usually means the OP is more desireable or better.

the reason for Cap / Cav would, right now, be that they are brand new and people are fighting each over for the chance to play them. Their rate would be inflated from what it would likely be. You'd have to wait for the novelty to drop off and see what their pick rates normalize to.

Arguably Sledge does better in situations where theres alot of cover because he can breach far more times and has Frags, his only disadvantage in a firefight is slightly less damage than Ash's R4-C and a bigger hitbox.
Do I think this makes either of this characters OP? No, they just have a wide application because of the nature of their gadgets in comparison to every other attacker. Most of which, save Fuze who is right behind Sledge in pick rate, are largely situational picks, excluding Buck and Blackbeard. Buck is balanced because his shotgun only doubles as a less effective breaching tool, needing to use 3 shells to break a barricade and Blackbeard is debatable in how balanced he is but hes another matter entirely.

To be fair a lot of attackers shouldn't have ACOG. Like why does Blackbeard get an ACOG but Mute or Kapkan can't. The MP7 is literally the same gun statistically as the 9x19 yet it gets an ACOG. If anything slower operators should get ACOG because it benefits to stay at a distance, and faster operators should get 1x sights only because there's no reason they should rule in every type of engagement.

I think as far as Division goes, if they ironically scaled back some of the RPG elements where not everything is about % points, they could have had a better product. Those set items they introduced post launch, where collecting a set granted you bonuses and attributes, that was a cool idea, but too late.

I can tell you right now 100% the night vision fighting in that game was some of the most authentic, "can't see shit captain" gameplay I have ever experienced. It was tweaked to be very much a video game, but having some guy come around the corner with a flashlight to fuck my nods was awesome - not being able to tell if there is a guy hiding in a bush because the quality of the night vision is just low enough to not be able to tell and then having muzzle flashes go off, fucking exhilarating.

My buddy would take both NVG's and a flashlight, and he made a keybind to disable his NVG's and turn on his flashlight with one push of a button, so we would go from sneaking outdoors to immediately breaching rooms aggressively. Shit was tight.

It's a combination of the empowerment of roamers, more efficient solo defender characters, the evolving meta, and the increased ability of some attackers like Blackbeard to shit on a defense room.

If you have less people taking characters like Mute or Jager, for example, your fortified comfy safe room is less safe, and instead they are just going to breach your shit in and take you out.

It feedsback on itself, why would you pick Jager if your biggest threat isn't grenades, but a peeking BB that won't make the entry until he's 100% confident the room is secure, so instead you take someone like Pulse or Valk. From there, your team doesn't have that Jager, or Mute, or Smoke, or anyone that really helps keep attackers out, so you just pick a roaming character that works better as a solo play.

There are a lot of factors. It's not just one single thing, but a bunch of smaller things looped back onto one another and amplifying the problem.

Dont buy a headset. You pay a lot for very poor quality components. You will pay a premium for a brand name.

Find a nice pair of headphones in your budget, and buy a cheap clip-on mic (Zalman MIC-1 is legendary). Soundcards are good, but not necessary due to virtual 3D sound being a standard.
