Dudes, I made this EXACT post and then someone showed me how to do it and then I started. Lemme tell you - even with nothing but a spreadsheet program, one column Japanese and one column you type English into, it's still an enormous pain in the butt. Like, you may think the only thing getting in the way is extracting/replacing text, but you can generally solve that in anything from minutes to a couple hours depending on your talent with computers. Then you've got HUNDREDS of hours of translation waiting. That's the honban my bros. The obstacle to translating VNs isn't hacking the text or anything like that. It's that it takes three-four months of translating four-five hours a day to finish translating a medium-length VN that takes only a week to finish reading normally.

There was an honest effort to setup that general over a month ago. during that period, the threads were lively initially, but by the 7th threads it became apparent there's no longevity in keeping up a thread for that game. You just run out of things to talk about in a untranslated game. At that point the threads would assume a cycle of periodically hovering on page 10 only to be saved from a literal bump post. After a couple more threads of this, they stopped appearing.
Nor recently, someone revived the threads again, with similar results, the threads would spend most of their time on page 10, people only posting bumps and dumping images from twitter. All of the recently made threads died well before hitting bump limit.

/cm3d2g/ just cannot be sustained, ergo /hgg/ is the only place where it can be discussed. Every game has the potential to attract swarms of idiots, with the risk getting higher with 3D games. However we here are no strangers to such occurrences.
