My Galaxy S5 has been trying to get me to download 6.0 for a while now, and updating to 5.0 from 4.4 already killed my phone.

if you are a new player or don't have enough average to decent medals then you should do dailies during carnival time. otherwise i think carnivals are less of a hassle, and there's usually a guarantee that you get at least 1 medal. you could make the argument that your chances for a premium might be increased since you're getting more medals overall by buying 7 daily deals

Managed to place in the 3100s with a 28% score multiplier (Judy & Nick + Illustrated Sora Friend), and taking down the single Gargoyle. Kinda disappointed that I couldn't defeat all the mobs like the previous two events but I think I should be getting at least one RAX medal.

Oh shit I actually won. No 3 turn objective but I wasn't expecting that.
My game plan was defensive.
This was the layout i used. Friend medal was a Hades with prize plus. All I wanted was the prize plus.
KH2 Aerith has defense boost 1.
Timeless Pete has defense boost 2 as does Donald.
Marluxia has attack boost 2.
I wanted maximum chance for defense boost proc.
Entire round was heal with daisy, tap until marly then special. Then tap with hades to get meter back.
It was a scary fight and I'm still shaking.

the important part of leveling up is getting the Cost parts of the avatar boards, and to a lesser extent, AP and HP

when you're new, Cost doesn't seem like a big deal because medals cost between 9 and 14 to put on your key. as you advance, though, you'll see that 6 star medals each cost 46, and so it's vital that you have ever possible amount of Cost in order to support those strong medals

other than that, just distributing your Skills well and hoping for the best when you save up enough jewels to get the occasional roll. i was really lucky and got a Pooh&Piglet on my epic pull this carnival, but that was the only premium medal i've gotten in my 114 days of play, so i'm still pretty shit compared to people who pay and/or are luckier than me

this (with the cloud summons) was the strategy i used when i beat the game a month or two ago, but i just didn't find it very fun to play. i didn't like the mechanics of stacking cards for sleights or reloading my shit or the card break/DP system or anything, it was all just too many components and mechanics getting in the way of the fights instead of a smooth action RPG like i enjoy in the main series games

I don't think maintenance time equates to size of the update. Maintenance is just them making sure everything works alright when it's live, it's not like they're adding the update to the game during maintenance. Like "we gotta make sure rankings function right" because there was an update to rankings, or "let's make sure stacking works," "can we search parties correctly?" And the maintenance got extended so clearly something unexpected happened, which again doesn't have much to do with the actual size of the update. 1.3 was the bigger update.
