are we talking in context to the highest form of competition/challenger? If we are then no, gold and even low diamond aren't anywhere near good. In context to the playerbase overall, if you're gold you're probably better than most players but you still make a lot of mistakes and aren't very good.

At the end of the day your ranking doesn't really matter anyway unless you plan on going pro or making a career out of league of legends. Anyone that can't at least reach D5 while tryharding needs to stop playing this game seriously though.

Bronze is like people still new to the game. They don't know how to build, can't farm, lack decision making (chase kills all the time), just want to tdm even if they don't have the mechanics which a lot also lack.

Silver are bronzies that made it out, they most likely know how to build their items masteries and such and have developed some mechanics over time, but still seem to lack decision making. They don't know what to do after laning is over and just decide to go aram mode., some might still chase kills and some still might not know how to farm or trade in lane properly.

From there on are golds and plats which might have grasped the game. From there comes who can spam what op champ the best it seems. There are those odd balls that will play any champ with the same good results each time and those are the ones who can make it out faster before they realize OTP's are prevalent the higher they go.

You won the TDM, so now that one guy retreats so he's not stuck with a longer respawn than the rest of his team, and you get the point. Lather rinse repeat, move on to the next objective. Why are you so worried about being shit? Being shit isn't permanent, it's just a current state. It's always malleable, and in fact if you want to not be shit, you have to accept that you are shit and try to IMPROVE. No one is looking at your match history or op.gg page, your kda and winrate doesn't matter. The thing that got me to improve the most was realizing that kda and kills don't win games. Focus on how you can win rather than whatever stats you have. Look at fucking gbay, the dude feeds laning phase like every game, then comes back and wins later. All the bronze and silver players wonder how he got diamond, and I look at someone who knows how to make the best out of a bad situation better than anyone. His biggest weakness is probably that when he does do well, he doesn't really know what to do and sometimes throws. He really should be an inspiration to anyone who worries about playing badly. It doesn't matter how you start, its' how you finish. You may be bad now, but you can improve and finish your career as high as you want!

Watch TF2, or watch any other carbon copy of TF2 like Overmeme. 3-4 people huddle around the payload while it slowly chugs along, MAYBE one or two people try to flank, and points never get captured unless most of the defenders are dead. That is TDM, and the "objective", whether it's capturing a static point or moving a train or even a flag in TF2, is secondary. Killing the enemy team always takes priority because that is by and large TF2's central focus.
