Moderation is a really important thing to keep in mind in regards to fanservice. Something like highschool dxd doesn't need to worry about moderation since it's pretty much what the entire series is all about and they don't hold back on the actual nudity, but then you get things like Rosario to Vampire where it's just fucking annoying having panty shots shoved into every other frame and there's only one or two scenes with nudity in the entire main series.

People who claim kanji/radical study is useless usually only mean that studying them in isolation is useless, since studying them alone don't actually allow you to read anything.
By the time a RTK user has finished all the kanji someone who did Core would already be reading moege, while the RTK user still can't read shit. Studying kanji/radicals will help long-term retention of vocabulary, though.
