Short evaluation of the priest cards by a legend player.

Let's start with Onyx Bishop
- Synergy with 5+ mana legendaries (imagine the value by playing EXPENSIVE OP LEGENDARIES) and reviving them OMG so broken
- It's a rare so you can have 2!!!!!!!!! of these in your deck. Imagine playing Ragnaros, it dies and u play this twice OMG
- OP arena card, 2 minion by the price of one is pretty STRONG

Now we have 2nd card, Priest of the Feast
- Auchenai synergy, that way enemy think you're dumb and will laugh so much they will DC and you instantly win.
- Shadowpriest MASSIVE buf, they now can use this card to have lots of healing
- Mind blast now deals 5 dmg to enemy face but heal your face by 3. Face priest now can survive against other face decks!

Finally MOST BROKEN CARD, PURIFY
- Shaman have 4 mana 7/7? Now priest can use Eerie Statue to have 4 mana 7/7 too!!!!! Or even better yet, 2 mana 4/5!
- Silence auchenai when u need to quickly heal instead of doing damage
- Remove taunt from your minions so the enemy Druid can't use Black Knight on your Bog Creeper.
- Did I mention it cycles itself? That is MUCH value! Priest now have more ways to draw cards!
- OP Synergy with Corrupted Healbot, since enemy face now doesn't heal

Overall Priest looks EXTREMELY broken and I hope Blizzard gives them trash next expansion, they just got SO many good cards...

Coil is good because Warlock can't ping so you can use it to finish off minions. Drawing a card for 1 is simply good too, but if that's all your card does then you better have cards in your deck that are worth to actively cycle for.

The card is being spent to silence, which is what 0 mana silence is. It costs a card. You're paying a fucking card to silence something, and in Volazj Priest that something is intended to be your own minion. That's why 0 mana silence isn't played, because Priest can't afford to both spend cards to circle and cards to silence without their card advantage completely evaporating.

Purify is just slapping a 2 mana draw onto that, and if you've ever actually used a Northshire you'd know that you're glad to pay 2 mana to draw a card as priest, even if it means going a little out of your way. Priest desperately needs draw, and can't afford to run the shitty frail minions to get it. "Friendly minions only" just restricts its rewarding usage to countering debuffs and playing Volazj/Barnes or other silence-valueable minions, which is its main usage lately anyway. It's like Wyrmrest Agent requiring you to play Dragon Priest to get your 2 mana 2/4 taunt. 2 mana targetable silence cantrip would be another completely bullshit auto-include on par with PWS.

Let's review the cards from a creative standpoint since it seems like Blizz is not doing a good job in a balance standpoint.

Legos:

Medivh is just summoning stone (an existing mechanic) tacked on a big body. Incredibly underwhelming for such an important figure in the game lore.

Curator seems ok, at least we have a targeted card draw now.

Barnes seems like the most creaive and meme enabling of the bunch. Only legendary I liked seeing.

Malchezaar is obviously for "new player experience" so that new players can put5 random shiny legos they all see and covet into their decks and covet them more to buy packs and stuff.

Moroes, token generating minion with nothing special. Completely boring and underwhelming at the same time.

Class cards

Priest: Horribe. 3/4 vanilla body + a spell no one plays is incredibly uninspired. 3/6 is boring. Purify is creatively terrible.

Rogue: No new mechanics, RNG up the ass by pushin "le random enemy class card" meme.

Paladin: Only real interesting thing is multi tribe play enabling cards. Other than that nothing new. Portal is rng shit. Knight seems a little bit interesting since you have to balance what spell you need from discover, and how much heal you need.

Druid: Portal rng shit, uninteresting. Potentially op beast synergy can enable interesting decks, end result medicore.

Warlock: Discardlock sounds very interesting, open to creativity, so much potential. Too bad Hs discard mechanic is horse shit with it's randomness and discarded cards being gone forever. Complete waste of potenial.

Warrior: Taunt warrior lel. It's at least new, but it's just stat buffs, taunt decks are neither original nor fun. Weapon seems ok, kinda new mechanic, not bad, still underwhelming creatively.

Hunter: Grandma is boring as fuck. New secret is bear trap of spells. Free secret dude can help yog decks for lulz. Almost nothing interesting or we haven't seen before.

Mage: Full RNG mode. For those who finds coin flips interesting.

Grade: 3/10

Turn 5 lock n load + cloaked huntress. If you keep getting secrets then the fun just dont stop.

7 hunter secrets out of 26 total spells. 26.92% chance to get a secret with every hunter spell you play during lock n load. Odds are actually pretty decent.

It just means cloaked huntress is flexible. At the very worst its a vanilla 3/4.

Or it could just be a tempo card (Kindly Grandmother turn 2, cloaked huntress + secret turn 3) and then its good value because thats 5 mana value on turn 3.

Or its a late game draw engine because it allows you to generate tons of cards with lock n load if you hoard secrets.

So to look at the WoW:TCG there are two cards worth bringing up.

One of the cards, the Priest spell, "Power Word: Purity", was a 1 mana, heal a minion, give it +2 HP and the lightwell effect.
Now that is a bit of a powerful card, but it was kind of meant to be given how priests really couldn't do much except remove minions and buff their own minions' health.
Unless they had shadow spells, then they could discard your hand/deck.

The other spell to look at is a paladin spell.

It is under the name "Sacred Purification".
This is a 1 mana spell, that in the TCG only let you silence spell effects, but since HS doesn't differentiate where the effect came from it would just be silence.

So in short, its Hearthstone version would be "1 mana, silence a minion. If it was a friendly minion, draw a card."

Which most of the time is still worse than just the priest spell "silence", especially since debuff cards (outside of Paladin) are rare in hearthstone, but at least it would be better than the shit we got instead.
Also if you're curious, in general Paladins had worse heals and worse control cards than Priest, but Paladin cards cycled more.

I don't think the card is overpowered.

A vanilla 2/4 for 2 is just the card priest needs. You have class cards like Fiery War Axe around, a 2/4 body is a suitable class card for priest. That means it trades well and gets mileage out of priest's hero power.

The ability also encourages use of the priest's hero power. It provides minimal lifegain in the early game, works as a soft taunt for the minion for your opponent, and has the potential to combo for recovery in the mid- late- game so it's not a dead card. Like this into Injured Blademaster into Circle is 3 cards for a 2/4 and a 4/7 pretty much. At that point in the game healing your hero for 4 isn't very important. With a developed board you can potentially heal for a lot, but that would be several turns down the line.

Priest only has room for one 0 mana non-cycling spell that doesn't impact the board state, and Silence sure as fuck isn't getting played over Circle. It's no surprise that silence felt aggressive to you, because you were spending 2 cards to rush out a single creature or using poorly-statted creatures like Owl and Spellbreaker.

Wailing Soul has anti-synergy with Northshire and Auchenai. It's much better to be able to pick the thing you want to silence unless you're running some Watcher/Statue meme shit. Even in a watcher/statue deck, picking your silences lets you run silenced statues alongside taunted ones without overriding effects.

Neither of the above cards cycle, meaning neither one will help your deck get back on track if you have a clunky hand. It's no surprise that it was inconsistent.

I doubt Purify will be competitive, but it'll probably be the best Silence Priest incarnation so far. God only knows what kind of broken shit Druid and the other classes will be brewing after this expansion though.
