Sometimes I'll get PotG and my ult only kills two people and then immediately after i spawn when another mech and I haven't done anything I'll get a solo kill credit on someone

Happened at the end of this match in just had too, a Genji was headed towards the objective and I just summoned my mech and when I got back I got credit on the kill feed and his sword was directly under me.

I hate to say it but you answered your own question.
I just played two games and went back to 72. It was one of those "The other team is straight up just better" or "My team evaporates the moment I fight anyone" set of matches.

My advice other than get lucky is to try to get the team to communicate, ask everyone if they are playing heroes they are good at, and to stick together.

Other than that you are at the mercy of the draw for solo Q.
I had good luck playing in a 2 queue to help my friend in the mid 50's. That's where the spike to 70 came from.

I've only tried it twice, but both times I went Attack Symmetra (always on Dorado which I feel is well adapted to it with its narrow corridors and payload for memesentry attaching) were a great success with blowout victories.

Actually, placing a teleporter in the spawn room under the final point is amazing. Saves a full 30 seconds per person in walk I'd say. Plus her meme gun clears contesting tracers, genjis, and lucios off the cart like a Winston with a discord orb.

It's fun - I would never be able to try this kind of strat if I was soloqueuing. People would bitch and moan and report without giving it a chance.

So, let's look at this mathematically. Four seasons every year, you get 65 every single season for one gold weapon a season. So, best case scenario, let's say you have two gold skins a season. And at the rate of release we've had, we could easily expect the next hero to appear next season, so one hero, every season.

If these patterns continue, and you make this Overwatch competitive stuff go PERFECTLY, (two gold skins, one new hero a season)you are asking for the chance to get Gold Skins on ALL of your heroes, current and new, in 21 seasons, or five year and three months.

I mean, if Overwatch get to the point where they make another 21 heroes. LoL's made a shitload, though, so it's not too hard to imagine. Every hero's got some backstory you could pull from.

-Who runs the Shimada Clan now that Hanzo defected and Genji mecha'd up?
-What became of the sentient gorillas on the moon after Winston left them? Who leads them now?
-What started up the Omnium in Russia that's currently fueling the Second Omnic Crisis? Perhaps one of the God Programs escaped?
-The Deadlock Gang that McCree was a part of, the ones that pulled the heist in Route 66 and started the whole map stuff, who's with them NOW that McCree left?
-Reaper, Talon and probably Sombra can't be the only high-rank members of Talon, right? Who else is part of that organization?
-As Tekhartha Mondatta is now dead, who will lead the Shambali? Would said Omnic be as passive as Zenyatta or other Shambali?
-Who or WHAT made Reaper what he is today?

And that's just all I can think of off the top of my head. So yeah, lots of heroes, lots of gold weapons to get. LOTS of Grinding to do.

From what I've seen, you don't get genuinely creative or good with a hero, until you've used it at least twice as much as whatever number of hours you're thinking of right now

It's okay if you're not that good in Season 1. Being great right out of the gate while they're still fine-tuning everything is a silly demand. Just practice LOTS in quickplay. Pick an Attack hero, Pick a Defense Hero, trade off, learn their strengths and weaknesses, learn how to counter counters and you should be just fine.

Genji's deflect is the bane of Bastion, and you have to pull off the fire once you realize what he's doing. But it's usually so far away that pulling off doesn't help as it reflects from so far you can't tell. So in line with his noise being a weakness, I'd trade off being quiet as a turret in combat for a little more leeway with Deflect. It's hard to explain, but it's easier for you mentally to move your hand pressure to another finger than just take it all off.

It's helped me move faster at not firing at Deflect to switch for a second to right-click, and then flip back than force my finger out of the moment. You want to move your whole finger up, and that gives a few tenths of a second to put it back down after, giving him time to whisk behind you or on-top of you and shuriken you to death. Basically, just make what I do into a move, a load of WHIRRWHIRRWHIRR noise that is basically a big signal that a Bastion's nearby, in exchange for more control over your turret spray. It makes reloading more easy to time for than just 'reload on off break' but it cuts down on the sneakiness of Bastion hiding as a turret, if you choose to play that way.

Can anyone explain to a new player why winning a ranked game is worth 2 hashmarks on the level up but losing is usually a level and a half or more? I can't possibly maintain a 3:1 win / loss ratio as I solo queue and my rank just keeps plummeting.

fuck shitter league goddamnit, my skill keeps improving but I can't get any ranks back because of bad luck and how dependent I have to be on my team. I need to tank for them so there's someone on the point, but I also need to dps for them because they aren't getting kills, but I also need to go healer because somebody chose symmetra as sole support, but I also need to flank because they're just running into the choke and dying. I mean, I'm switching roles from healer to dps between rounds and still pulling gold for damage, and still de-ranking. Blizzard, you are shitting on decent people in solo queue by making their contribution to the match irrelevant next to their luck in landing in decent teams.

well there are 3 possibilities here

the first is that your team only has 1 tank, in which case roadhog is probably not the best choice, because your team will have no backbone

the second is that your team doesn't work well with roadhog, in which case you should switch to reinhardt or zarya or d.va

the third is that your team is being too aggressive or pushing too far or staying too spread out, which you should notice and mention accordingly, but don't be an asshole about it

Anyone else fed up with not being able to carry hard enough? Im a Zarya main in the mid 50s and it seems like 90% of the time my offensive teammates are trash, the reins/lucios/zenyettas are always good but the offensive/defensive players are not.

I feel like I can barely keep my teams afloat only and only if I get a 4/5 man ult, even though i'm tanking and shielding and doing what i'm supposed to. Also attack is always good but teams always fall apart to the quick push in defense and I find myself losing 90% of all Numbani, and Temple games.

In most of the games I had 3-4 gold medals. In a couple our """"""""healer""""""" was ana playing as a Widow.
In one I had people switch to Hanzo AND Widow to counter 1 widow which they didn't manage to do.
In the above mentioned games someone quit and it was 5v6. Yes it was actually their fault.

Here's a tip to help you get the feel of him. Whenever you're on defense (qp unless you want to shit up some ranks and make people rage post) find a place to hide next to the attackers' spawn and wait for them to rush out like lemmings. Try to hook either a support or someone really squishy and just hold the trigger over their face. When the hook is over you'll instantly shoot them. Do a melee just for good measure. Also, spam your heal. You'll get your ult charged ridiculously fast.
