Try to have them be nearby to avoid "too far to travel" events popping up half the time, in your own court is obviously ideal.
I think you can just personally lead a Retinue and park it on their county too, though.

Look at their traits and pick your approach accordingly - younger and more "honorable" characters are vulnerable to professing love, older or less "honorable" ones are vulnerable to lewd suggestions, Learning-types/poets are obviously vulnerable to poetry, etc.

Try not to seduce in a court with characters that have much higher Intrigue than you.

No, and here's why; they reduced the amount of possible factions. Before, they would faction up for primogeniture, tanistry, elective, ultimo, independence for a kingdom, lowered crown authority per kingdom, etc. Now, at least in my experience, they have; elective, council power, and crown authority (I forget what it's called now). That consolidation of vassal power makes it so that they're more confident fighting their overlords and thus declare civil wars more frequently.
