So a few years ago I actually tried to play DA2 before getting to Inquisition. I tried hard to like the game, but couldn't. Couldn't get over the boring and simplistic combat, the bland city and the dungeons. But I guess there's the story. People talk about how the game is cool because Hawke isn't the centerpiece of the world, or how he isn't a chosen one. How the game is about the more local problems of Kirkwall.

I liked the sound of that but FUCK. It actually felt like I was everyone's errand boy And as Hawke, I had absolutely no motivation to help everyone around me. And all the events in Kirkwall seemed way too disconnected one from each other. The time skips were weird, too.

I ended up dropping the game near the 3rd act. Now I realise maybe I was rushing through the game to play Inquisition and didn't try to get the story or characters.

Any opinions here? Should I bother?

You can actually pause in the Xbox version. Theres a radial menu you can bring up that gives you access to a bunch of stuff including the rest of your abilities not mapped to the buttons, and when you have it pulled up the game is paused.
Obviously still worse than the PC version but the features are technically there except for zooming out to top down view

Cassandra saying the temple was nonsense actually pisses me off, but no way they were gonna write a dialog specifically for a Dalish Inquisitor and friendly Cass. If the Inquisitor is anyone else her line isn't a big deal.
