Eden, Valkia, and Didi are among the best. Eden has good passives and great stats for a 4*, Valkia is still very useful despite BB having nerfed her about 4 times in the last year, and Didi does something no one else in the game does right now so she's fairly irreplaceable. Though certainly not NECESSARY except in certain instances.

if you're talking about assist CMs, Sky and Nera were the only recent good ones, and Sky still works, Nera can still work too, she just wont active pass right at the start

Is Blazing Essence good? Seems like if they only ever attack once, (penetrate -> heal), it's superior to TB. I could alternatively go a completely different route with WoM, stacking with quick start.

I could also switch around to EC Jin, let Virgil hold TW, and Kevin EBM. I don't know if Jin does enough damage to make an EC worth though. He's at 0 spu since he's solely totem atm.

Any suggestions, are any of my lines of thinking correct?

They have parts of Meta.

Sammy has a team revive with line action bar recovery, and is generally hard to kill while holding the ball.
Lia has the line reflex debuff, with team action speed that can compare to Meta's team action recovery. Her usual purpose is fucking up the backliners that try to penetrate through mid. She's tankier than Meta when it comes to WW defenses because of the colour advantage and 17% health recovery per hit in PVP.

Meta's just goddamn stupid for having everything happening in one character.

That only matters if she loses the coin flip. Nera CM does fine on a coin flip loss, same as she always has.

The problem is only on a coin toss win because she will never put either her attack or reflexes to use early in the match. As the ball holder she will only do a normal pass.Whoever she passes to is then torn apart. A coin toss win is almost a guaranteed loss of the opening midline skirmish.

I dont think they'd be torn apart with a ~1k pass, if Meiran, Linmay or whoever have a stone that can make them do more damage/make them tankier they'll be fine

Immediately after the normal pass the enemy metatron will get a turn and possible double-steal.

Metatron will have significantly more reflex and the odds are good the ball is taken. If not there is a steal attack from choi coming seconds later. Meiran cannot fight off both metatron and choi by herself, especially when at such a significant reflex disadvantage.

If meiran had 40% more reflex or 100 natural action speed she would be a valid normal pass target, but with only average reflexes and below average speed she is just a sitting duck.

This is why WW players that still use meiran in midfield go Meiran/Meta/Victoria. It was the only way to keep Meiran relevant after she lost her partner Nera.
