I love when I'm in a solo lane and the jungler camps me. Because this ain't the LCS, they're not gonna tower dive me effectively and he's gonna be opening up his other lanes to get fucked over by our jungler or let them steam roll, and he's gonna be leeching gold and XP the whole game from the other guy. The last really good draft format was Khans (triple khans, not khans block). Shadows over Innistrad wasn't bad, but this new set looks like it's pretty shit with the LOL IT WAS ELDRAZI ALL ALONG plot hook.

It's due to a lot of things, probably the most easily explainable issue being the trend towards creatures being undercosted, high performance creatures that come with free spells tacked on as ETBs or abilities. In addition, manabases have been so incredibly strong in the past few years that every competitive deck is literally 3-4 color goodstuff, with $500 lands and the next BabyJace that costs $100 a card. Look at how fucking awful Khans->Origins standard was.

Draft is imbalanced because of chase rares/mythics and horrible internal testing. Fate had citadel siege and other fantastic design choices that won you the game on turn 4. Dragons of Tarkir was black/red winning almost every draft. Origins was "balanced", but it was such a boring, stale set that I couldn't even bother playing it much past the second draft. BFZ was a shitshow with green being stone unplayable, OGW completely ruined modern and nearly took out legacy as well, and was equally unfun to play draft. SoI as mentioned before was actually good, except also unbalanced because blue was worthless aside from the U/G investigate deck. Now we have the cancerous Eldrazi shit that MaRo loves so much, on top of poorly thought out archetypes that don't even translate well into an Eldritch-Eldritch-SoI draft.

Oh well, fuck video games, fuck card games. League of legends.

Yeah the lore sucks balls but the twist on Emmy wanting to get imprisoned is cool. Draft will always be unballanced as long as there are "chase rares" but frankly, first picking Eldritch Evolution just because it's worth a few bucks doesn't seem bad to me. You can't expect every rare you open to be good for your deck.
EES has been a solid draft. They have cards between both sets that fit well into delerium (the 2/1 artifact creature for 2, crop sigil, terranium) and madness has been a lot easier to enable with things like nope-rope snake and Olivia's dragoon. Even Spirits is a lot stronger due to all the solid commons and uncommons printed. Frankly the only archetype I'd call weak right now is Izzet tempo, but that is always difficult to have be powerful.
