Is there some kind of background ranking system in 1v1 matchmaking? I've been getting my ass consistently handed to me by people for like the past day or so and suddenly having ascended into the tryhard echelon would explain it.

Im not a Charizard main but I play as him for fun alot recently. One tip I know for sure is NOT to spam Side B. Its an all or nothing move that if blocked extremely punishable. Only use Side B if you are 100% it will hit.


Also Down throw, Up Throw, N-air and U-tilt Combo/Juggle but how exactly and what percents you are gonna have to ask an actual Charizard main.

Anyone got some marth tips? What are some bread and butter combos and techniques

I'm new myself. Personally I think it depends on where you are on the learning curve. If you're super new and learning basics that can apply to any character I say go ahead and don't worry too much about forcing yourself to stick with one character. But after that I think it's 100% better to stick with one person. But don't be afraid to stray if you're not liking your character a bunch.

Personally I was a Marth main until I decided that while I was still having fun I just wasn't feeling Marth at that moment so I wanted to work on who I planned to have as a secondary. I fell in love with my secondary and swapped from a Marth main to an IC main. Can't speak to you, but once I found out I loved ICs I started improving a lot faster.

The IC's are incredibly strong but also have major weaknesses, mainly they are sitting ducks in the air, they fall really slow and they can't move side to side in the air like at all, which basically means jumping is off the table in the neutral game unless you immediately wave land on a platform

Still though I know what you mean, also their wave dash smash attacks are stupidly strong
