Only in an indirect manner. Archie had quite a few legal fees to pay, since that lawsuit went on for a rather extended time. Not because of Penders directly, but their own failure to keep more than 1 copy of their own employee noncopyright clause caused a giant breach of contract with Sega that stipulated that all original concepts from the Archie comics would be owned by Sega- anything Archie copyrighted for the book would be de facto owned by Sega. But people like Penders are freelance. So the bigger chunk of money went to the legal disputes between Sega and Archie.

Meanwhile, far away from all this, the sales of Mega Man were already very low, and so were Archie's flagship series. An attempt to run a kickstarter to reboot/save Archie (the series) failed, and for a few months Archie comics became a clickbait whipping boy. Only then did Archie start cancelling comics to try to make a reboot work.

I preordered the 9th paperback of the Mega Man comic in 2014.
There was one delay that pushed it back to 2015, another to late 2015, and now we're in 2016 and there is no given release date for it.

The paperbacks were originally printed on these really nice, glossy pages, and they were also comfortably thick, too.
Now though? They're printed on this cheap-feeling, thinner paper that has no glossy finish to it at all. Kind of desaturates the colors, too.
