Yeap, I kept trying and it doesn't seem to be installing properly, even if I press select. Just freezes on arma11.bin loading and nothing happens no matter what I press or how long I leave it. I was in hourglass9 and did section 4, and then i went back, hit select to unmount the SD card, deleted the 2 files and then made a back up of the whole SD card.

But now when it says to hold Y on boot to bring up emunand9 nothing happens. The 3DS just starts up and goes to the home screen like normal. As does any other function as well. Can't hit select to go into luma, or start to go into hourglass.

Did I skip a step or something? I thought I had done everything step by step.

My buddy was downgrading his device that he uses gateway with. According to him he followed the downgrade + a9lh guide 100%.

At section 3 of part 5 he apparently didn't pay attention the text saying what to do if you have a black screen. All he told me is he "found a workaround" I also believe he didn't use hourglass9 but something else.

But in the end he says he downgraded properly. It requires his SD card to be in to boot his device so I assume everything went smoothly.

Is there anything I should have him check for to make sure everything was set up correctly? He's the type of guy to not read the instructions properly even when told to. I'm worried he somehow messed it up.

I think I managed to fix it by installing the payload option with menuhax. I had a trigger set up beforehand, but it wasn't working despite holding down on the dpad (the trigger suggested by the guide). Now it boots every time.

Not a bad idea, but considering how it'd be very new as a game...it will receive updates within months of its lifetime. It'd be best to either implement these hard mode mods towards the end of its life OR somehow finding a way to have those EXP changes to be "unpatchable".

Can anyone help me? I use Luna a9lh 11.0 and i get black screen everytime I turn my 3ds on. When I flash a 9.2 backup, i get an error everytime I boot. When I upgrade the firmware back to 11.0, it blackscreen again. Please help!
