DSTT?

Why? Never heard of it, its always people going on about R4i RTS or R4i Gold Pro. What is DSTT and why is is better?
>>
>>150333691
For one thing, it works with forwarders. All I know is it's a newer option but considered one of the most solid.
>>
>>150333771
Idk what forwarding is, seems like installing ds games like a cia to get a shortcut or something. Not interested, more like too lazy actually.

Besides that, what else is best?
>>
>>150333957
just a normal r4i gold is fine
>>
>>150333691
It's the cheapest, it works fine on Luma without the need of patches or launchers, and it's compatible with forwarders (shortcuts to your games on the 3DS home screen). Performance is on the same level as R4s too.
That being said, if you're not using Luma you might have to consider getting a flashcart that runs under an unpatched TWL_FIRM
>>
>>150334198
Is manually patching TWL_FIRM on a9lh a no no or what

if you have no backup and get certain errors on One Click Setup you're fucked but may be able to recover to a much earlier point in the guide
>>
I heard that you could play online games whilst your 3ds is hacked, mine isn't hacked YET, but I can't create a NNID because it's asking me to update, which i won't because I obviously wanna hack it. Is there no way to use your NNID without updating? halp pls

>>
>>150338483
Just try hitting select to full install a9lh, there's nothing of use displaying on the screen anyway (no warnings or anything). The screen stays fucked up/appears frozen more often than not nowadays.

Otherwise, follow the troubleshooting steps in the guide.

You update emunand to 11.0, not sysnand. Once emunand is at emu11.0 you run the downgrade. Look at all the files you are supposed to have downloaded and put on the sd card

If the guide is confusing, do your self a favor and re read the entire guide start to finish, not just the steps, but the intro paragraphs on each step. After you read EVERYTHING, read it again.

Then do it one more time

Or guess and BRICK because you refuses to spend 30min reading everything.

I'm currently on section five of this https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-5-(arm9loaderhax)

I was in hourglass9 and did section 4, and then i went back, hit select to unmount the SD card, deleted the 2 files and then made a back up of the whole SD card.

But now when it says to hold Y on boot to bring up emunand9 nothing happens. The 3DS just starts up and goes to the home screen like normal. As does any other function as well. Can't hit select to go into luma, or start to go into hourglass.

Did I skip a step or something? I thought I had done everything step by step.

My buddy was downgrading his device that he uses gateway with. According to him he followed the downgrade + a9lh guide 100%.

At section 3 of part 5 he apparently didn't pay attention the text saying what to do if you have a black screen. All he told me is he "found a workaround" I also believe he didn't use hourglass9 but something else.

But in the end he says he downgraded properly. It requires his SD card to be in to boot his device so I assume everything went smoothly.

Is there anything I should have him check for to make sure everything was set up correctly? He's the type of guy to not read the instructions properly even when told to. I'm worried he somehow messed it up.

i did the whole upgrade to luma CFW for 3ds games but now all my ds games on my flashcart don't seem to work because the 3DS doesn't recognize it anymore.

is there something i can do to make the 3ds see or use the flashcart? or is that just something that happens because i technically updated my firmware, even though it's luma?
>>
>>150357080
that would be a stupid thing to do, you can start with the 9.2 update part of the guide in the op

I'm now trying to boot the homebrew menu on my n3dsxl, and I get garbled colors on the top screen and the bottom tells me an error has occured. Did I fuck up somehow already following the instructions in the guide?

Looks like the ds black list was updated from you updating. You'll have to search around, but there should be a way to remove/downgrade it.
>>
>>150357659
What entrypoint are you using? Browserhax? If so change themes/set date/initialize save data again and keep trying.
>>
>>150357820
then you should updated now to download what you want before sony brings out a new update and hope more ePSP kernal hax come soon.

>>

Yeah, I'm following the guide exactly as it's written from the starting point. I installed menuhax but I skipped the payload option because the guide made no mention of it. Should I have installed that?

You mean the trigger? Did you not set up a trigger to run menuhax?

Otherwise try replacing your copy of boot.3dsx in your sd card root with a new one.
>>

I think I managed to fix it by installing the payload option with menuhax. I had a trigger set up beforehand, but it wasn't working despite holding down on the dpad (the trigger suggested by the guide). Now it boots every time.

Hopefully that's what did it. Thanks for the help so far, though!

So I have an odd question concerning Loadiine. I have it all set up and running, and I know that there is no proper way to use downloaded DLC with out jumping through some loops. But my question is does that apply to DLC that is NOT gotten through the eshop?

I'm playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and I have the tubehax DNS blocked so I can't access any shop related anything. Not a bad idea, but considering how it'd be very new as a game...it will receive updates within months of its lifetime. It'd be best to either implement these hard mode mods towards the end of its life OR somehow finding a way to have those EXP changes to be "unpatchable".

The game might actually have decent difficulty if Gamefreak wants to go out for this game. They have the resources, but they never even attempt to use them.

Whenever you update, for example, Eternal X/Y, all previous values changed from the romhack will simply vanish, from trainers' edited teams to edited BST for Pokemon.

Usually the updates are for online-related functions and they have to make sure that functions correctly + prevent cheating from occurring, but how? By reverting the values to normal with every patch.

Its safe and easy unless you are a retard dindu who cant read and doesnt like to follow directions.

It takes like 6-8 hours for beginners. Mostly just copying files and waiting for the 3DS to make backups and shit.

>what is luma about

Best cfw with A9LH

It boots instantly straight into emunand where you can update freely and play multiplayer and download games for free. And other homebrew and themes and what not.

Btw A9LH is optional, its the insta boot safe to update thing. Luma alone is enough for games and shit but its like getting your dick sucked by a 5/10 chubby girl and you dont even cum.

In the mean time would it be safe to update my EmuNAND via system settings? I just want to make sure that Luma works fine on 11.0 and that i'm not doing anything wrong
>>
>>150382459
Yes, it boots automatically into Luma3DS since your boot manager (your pic) will be overwritten by Luma3DS's boot file.
It will also use your current emuNAND as the CFW is just a means to access it (think of it like having another file manager on your computer).
Luma's strong points are that it's noob-friendly and you don't have to do much with it to have all the stuff that's needed (without having to opt-in/out essential things like reboots).
Another thing is that Luma3DS is still being developed on and rxTools' development has ceased except for DukeSRG's fork which still is not in a usable state.
>>
>>150382806
And there's no version-specific files I have to get for luma?

Or does it run off the SYSnand firmware which is 9 point whatever on everyone's so it will just work fine
>>
>>150382762
The only things that an end user gains from installing a9lh are 1-2GB back from your SD card (unless you keep your emuNAND), being able to run software before the OS starts and Nintendo not being able to fix this unless they make a(nother) pact with a devil because of the aforementioned point.

>>150383098
The only files that are necessary are the ones that are in the 7z archive. If something isn't there, you don't need it.
Once you trigger the execution (however you access your pic, probably with menuhax), it will boot Luma3DS into your emuNAND automatically and you are good to go to play some games.

i don't see why though
if you can run VHBL, which runs homebrew, like an iso loader application, why can't we play isos that way? Either way it crashes back to VHBL upon selection of isos so this whole argument is pointless, but you're also wrong, ePSP shit has nothing to do with it here, all you need is filesystem access and ability to launch unsigned applications, which HENkaku has, that's exactly how stuff worked in the late PSP hacking scene on firmwares 6.20+

You talked about 6.20 TN-HEN before. That uses a kexploit.

iirc a9lh is done to the console itself so the memory card used doesnt matter and luma is copy/paste regardless.

I thought it's the same i mean, it provides filesystem access and the main features of it are all the same, except obviously there are no ripped PS Vita games yet or a way to natively launch PSP-Emu homebrew but we can launch Vita homebrew natively? So what is HENkaku? Does it unlock us the ability to do shit in vita's own shell but not in PSP-emu? why? What's even the difference?
>>
Solid SD it's better than micro SD + adapter, right?
>>
>>150386549

HENkaku is a userland exploit for the PS Vita.
HENkaku lets you do what a normal Vita game can do, with a couple extra nifty things (fs access + overclocking)

The PSP is ancient, Vita mode homebrews have the capability to run a lot better. They're not optimised yet but should the scene gain traction it'll blow the PSP out of the water.

Allright, I've got a o3dsxl on 4.5.0-8E. I guess I can just follow the github guide normally, from as far as I've read there?

How long am I looking at for the entire process?
>>
>11.0 N3DS
>Already have a9hl O3DS XL

I want to keep the NNID that's on the N3DS for the inevitable transfer to NX, so would it really be worth it to fully hack the N3DS? The only thing I really want is better SNES emulation (which I think I can already get with Blarg through Menuhax), but I wouldn't mind having the C-Nub and ZL button for Hyrule Warriors and Smash.
>>
How does Pokemon Heartgold/Soulsilver run on Desmume on Vita, anyone know?
>>
>>150390260
Haven't tried it myself yet, but people are saying very poorly at like 5-10 fps.
>>
So plaisysupdater just crashed and brought me to the nintendo error screen during 9.2.0 downgrade on my n3ds

I dodn't try, but holding your vita sideways to show the two screens sound extremely uncomfortable given the positions of the controls.
>>

None so far.
>>

I known, because the guide explicitly tells me to in the part 1 header. Calm down senpai, I'm doing my best to double check everything.
>>
Should I use the 4GB SD that came with my DS or the 64GB one that I have for doing the a9lh guide?

I've heard people say having a larger SD card will make the nand backups take longer time, but that doesn't make sense to me. The 64GB SD is a way faster card than the 4GB one, so it should be faster, right?

So far on the N3DS I've got a few errors, partial downgrade, many homebrew apps refuse to boot, etc.

I knew barely anything about the 3ds or its homebrew before I did a9lh, but I learned a shit ton about the system and how it works by following the guide. That knowledge that I gained from the guide has helped me with understanding the system when doing other things to my 3ds.
>>
>>150399335

A9LH's semi-update proof and fast bootrate make it better than anything else.

There is no reason to use Gateway even if you own one. I should know, since I do. Its absolutely worthless. You're better off just keeping a DS flash cart in instead of the Gateway red card. I'd have done that with the blue card but that thing was a piece of shit and stopped working.

Anyone that buys a Gateway now is getting scammed hard. And anyone that bothers using one, even if they already owned one, is an idiot.
>>
>>150400423
Because unfortunately most people are too dumb to actually follow instructions properly. They either believe they can not do some of the stuff because it seems redundant or they believe they're smart enough to do the part a different way or they get confused because their reading comprehension sucks cock.

I'm not trying to defend them or anything, I have friends that do this same shit and I bitch at them for it. It's very much the users fault.

It's just probably not a good idea to recommend it to a beginner that is unlikely to follow instructions.

Hell, I have a friend that somehow got away with nigrigging his shit just the other day.Even after several warnings and reminding he skipped a ton of steps and it worked. He calls himself a genius because he was "smart enough to do it a more efficient way".
>>

>>
>>150400776
If they don't want to learn, then why do we care what they do?

Someone is too impatient to follow a atep-by-step guide and bricks their shit? Well they just learned a lesson there. The only guy I've ever felt bad for was the one that bricked his launch 3DS months ago and that was well before a9lh.
>>
>>150400776

My 16 year old brother managed to do A9LH without even knowing what homebrew meant. The guide's difficulty is literally dragging files in and out of your SD card and clicking on the buttons they ask you to.

It's not A9LH's fault your friends are retarded. All the other installation methods are even less retard proof, so there's that too.
>>
>>150400641
>>150400641
>Anyone that buys a Gateway now is getting scammed hard. And anyone that bothers using one, even if they already owned one, is an idiot.
Agreed. The only reason I use my gateway right now is testing .3ds builds for homebrew I build
>>
>>150400776
Yeah I guess.

I guess some are just so low IQ that they don't realize that they don't realize they're in over their heads and just go through it anyway.

I don't have any experience with being that stupid, because when I see a guide or process for something that's way too complicated for me, I either stay away or I study the subject more until I can perform it properly. So I just don't understand that pov I guess.
(Recent example is I tried to learn how to use linux. It was very hard to understand, but instead of just going on some website and copying a bunch of terminal commands that I have no idea what they mean, I tried to learn bash to understand things before I did them. Until I just said fuck it and went back to windows lol)

>>
>>150401221
What's the advantage of using gateway for that?
Is it easier to compile to .3ds? Or is it faster to get the compiled files on the 3ds with gateway?
>>
>>150401245

Same thing happened to me. The sections I got trouble with were:

- Menuhax failing to work suddenly
- Plaisysupdated gave me a partial downgrade
- Emunand black screens
- Luma3ds black screen
- 2.1 browserhax gave me OTPhelper instead of the installer for some reason

Be patient and you'll get there. With the exception of a softbrick during downgrade, you won't lose nothing from trying. Make sure you read everything step by step, though.

>>150401245
>Black screen on RedNAND boot

Is the touch screen needed at all to install a9lh? I have an o3DS that's on 4.x whose touch screen no longer works and on 4.x you can't move the cursor to the top row of stuff so I pretty much can't access the browser. But I do have OoThax so could I do everything from there?
>>
>>150401397
If you can compile homebrew as .cia it is easy as hell to also build as .3ds. It's a few tiny changes since .cia and .3ds are extremely similar. So if I already make a .cia file, why not also build the .3ds file with it?

Also, putting files on a micro sd and just loading them makes for faster testing then having to reinstall the app over and over again
>>
>>150401503

What "Linux" did you try? Pure bash is asking for failure. Try a standard desktop casual user distro like Mint, Elementary, or xubuntu.
>>
>>150401609

I would personally try it for 30 more minutes, and then trace back the steps to see if you missed anything.

I've never heard of anyone misreading something in the luma3ds part, so I honestly think it's got to do with the boot rate. The first time it starts it can take a lot to load.

Are you on an o3ds or a new one?

It's just a good thing to watch out for these people.

It is ultimately your decision to turn a blind eye and say "well, they just fucked up, who cares".

By the way, I don't feel bad for these kids that mess up their stuff. I just feel they need extra warning beforehand than someone who can actually listen. Or maybe just add even more warning to people in general so you don't have to try to scope them out.

Alright. But what about testing it by compiling it as 3dsx and using hblauncher? Is that slower?

(Keep in mind I have no idea how gateway and developing 3ds homebrew works.)

How do you run .3ds on gateway anyway? Is it just some file browser and you select the file and run?

Since it will be on 2.1.0, that means I can't access the browser since I can't select it.

I also can't access the system settings entirely either, so it's not like I can even connect to wifi if I wanted to. I guess I'm pretty much fucked then.

yea, the boot rates on the o3ds are much, much slower. My first time for luma on a new 3ds reached 2 minutes of black screen, and that's with the extra CPU, I think (why wouldn't it?).

If it doesn't work this time, check you have all the things in the "what you will need", read the steps and follow them (no need to re-paste or re-do steps, just make sure you've done them), and see if you have luma set up properly.

I honestly can't think of any rookie mistake you could've done, and if this happened with emunand before, I wouldn't be surprised you being unlucky.

After the first boots into RedNAND, I honestly recommend a 30 second wait and then turning off and on until you get it right.

Only the first loads should take longest, after that they should be relatively shorter.

It hasn't hasn' booted into rednand succesfully yet. This time I'm already on the 20 minute mark, so I guess this one failed as well.

Because of this, you should avoid leaving the device in sleep mode and could complete Part V without delay (this strictly applies to devices left in sleep mode for long periods of time, not devices that are being used).

This just means that shutting the lid on a N3DS while on the 2.1.0 downgrade and leaving it like that for a while can brick it?

>>
>>150404369

Not really.
>>
>>150404369
Yes there are some kernel exploits under 9.0 firmware, you even use one when installing a9lh by downgrading to 2.1.0.

However after installing a9lh you can update to any new 3ds firmware without losing any homebrew/hax capabilities.

I would install a9lh if I were you, however if it seems way too complicated for you then maybe stay away from it.
>>
>>150404350

What version are you on? Have you checked whether the downgrade to 9.2 came down completely? EmuNAND only works on 9.2 afaik.

>>150404362

This just means that during the installation, you shouldn't leave it waiting for long periods of time and get done with it asap.

After A9LH is installed, you will update to 11.0 and it will work as normal.

>>150404369

If I recall correctly, being on 8.1.0 will just make you have to follow a different step other than part 2. Instead of downgrading, you will have to do an update to 9.2 using Rxtools.

I think it's because most of the homebrew runs only on 9.2. The advantage is that I think an upgrade is safer than a downgrade.
>>
>>150404483
Alright sweet.
Would be pretty lame if you could never use sleep mode after installing a9lh.
>>
>>150404706
>Instead of downgrading, you will have to do an update to 9.2 using Rxtools.
So I'll have to start attempting to install rxtools then?

I really don't consider myself having any real problems following instructions and I have done a lot of homebrew and custom firmware stuff on other systems in the past.
But I have to admit that it's kind of annoying that just about every guide assumes you're already on a >9.0 firmware.
>>
>>150404369

>>150404706
>EmuNAND only works on 9.2 afaik.

The only reason why you downgrade in the first place is so you can trick SysNand into booting a CFW on latest firmware, whether it be through Menuhax EmuNand or A9LH SysNand.

In order to install either menuhax or A9LH, you need to be on an exploitable firmware. Anything between 4.x and 9.2 is workable, but most software was written with 9.2 in mind.

10.3 technically does have its own kernel exploit, but it isn't good enough/reliable to work with (failed downgrades are proof of that). It is, however, enough to downgrade to 9.2 with, so we do that instead.
>>
>>150404706
Okay. I just completed Part 4. I am feeling a bit nauseous right now, and wanna go for a quick nap before completing the guide. Is it safe to leave my 2.1.0 N3DS turned off for a few minutes? >>150401946

Didn't have to downgrade. I started on 4.5.0 so I followed the steps to upgrade to 9.2. That, at least, I'm sure went well.

>>150404967

Off should be fine, since the actual NAND isn't running. That's just an educated guess though, but you should be fine.

Take a nap and don't worry, the last thing you need is lack of attention, since A9LH installation is the hardest part, with renaming files and moving them around.

Every time I've done A9LH I've made sure I feel determined to go through 2.1.0 on one sitting, so I recommend you do that too.
>>
>>150405061

I've never set up a rednand twice in the guide, but I guess it's the only option you have left. Make sure you don't have anything from the old SD installation.

I don't see how much clearer they can be about this. Follow instructions exactly, or you run a risk of bricking.

The guide was written with beginners in mind, and has been proven to work flawlessly if you follow the instructions.

If you can help someone, then why not guys? Not sure what is wrong with you guys.

The point is, warn them in the thread that it might not be a good idea for them to do if they can't follow the guide. Usually these very same people can not even see the guide because they don't read. They might actually read your warning if you give them a warning before stating "Read the OP". Or people just asking what they should do, it would just be a good thing to do it.

You guys are acting like I do not understand the guide. I have read it, I understand it, and I understand that it is retard proof if people actually read. I have literally, this entire time in fact, only stating it would be a GOOD idea to give extra warning when you communicate with people about this stuff. I bought this thing way back. It has Awakening pre-installed on it. But most importantly, this one I should be able to install a CFW on.

But I also has an up do date OFW N3DS, which I am pretty sure I can't install CFW on.

Now my question basically just relates to the pre-installed copy of Awakening.
I do most of my 3DS gaming on my N3DS, because it's really just that much nicer of a machine. However, I believe I would like to install CFW on this old thing I can still install a CFW on. And now I am just left wondering, is there any way for me to transfer this pre-installed copy of Awakening over to my N3DS somehow? And still leave me able to install CFW on my 3DS?

Or should I just give up on transferring the game, install CFW on the 3DS, and leave my N3DS without Awakening? That would be a shame, but if it's a choice between CFW or Awakening on my N3DS, I would probably choose CFW. Even if it isn't on my N3DS.

You can get awakening back after A9LH on the old console. Going to the eShop should give you an easy purchase. Or is your problem that you can't play it on the n3ds?

If that's the case, the best thing you can do would be a system transfer. That's the only way to legally pass the title from one to the other.

If you're doing that, you might as well buy fieldrunners and give your n3ds a downgrade, to hack your new one, too.

N64 will be the most recent emulator that's playable. Probably not perfectly, but acceptably. Imagine PSP level SNES Emulation - every game will start, most will run ok, a few will run perfectly, and a bunch will have numerous issues.

Vita will be able to emulate the Saturn, but not to a playable level. Imagine PSP level N64 Emulation - a handful of games will run ok with a lot of adjustments, a bunch will just run like shit, and most won't start or will have immediate game breaking crashes.

Dreamcast is still a bitch and a half for PC to emulate, no way is Vita getting close to it.
>>
>>150407969
Except we post the guide several times every thread, and have been doing that, even with the warning about A9LH taking ages/the risks involved trying to install it.

I don't see how we can be any more clear than we have been so far: That guide is meant to cover all bases, and we constantly direct to it, emphasizing the warnings that come with hacking. This shit was way more convoluted in January when 10.3 downgrading was a thing/people were using 12ish different versions of RxTools, and the guide (and Luma) dramatically reduced the amount of confused users.

If they won't follow the guide, they will just come back more often for other hack-related shit (uninstalling cias, restoring nands, etc), because they don't fully grasp the concept of hacking the system. The guide not only guides through the hacking process but also helps the user understand why we do what we do to get the hacking done.

Yeah fuck no. 3ds scene is lucky as fuck that someone even cared to write a guide. Did you not clue in that most people say "refer to a9lh guide" because /hbg/ isn't supposed to be /3dstechsupport/, and we're telling them to fuck off to where they need to go?

This general isn't beginner friendly, and the OP makes it very obvious. If someone gets in way over their head, that's 100â„… completely on them. Ultimately, we don't really care what happens to them afterwards anyways, since any of the people who do that were never here to contribute to discussion anyways, and they were just here for free games.

So no, recommending people go straight to the guide is the optimal thing to do. It doesn't belittle anyone's intelligence and potentially start up shitposting unnecessarily. If they don't ever come back, then it was the quickest way to get them to stop shitting up the thread with 3ds free games shit. If the do come back after completing it, then they have a very basic taste of modding and maybe they'll learn enough to contribute later.

And if they fuck it up because they're too retarded to read? Then good riddance to them, since they obviously we're never going to contribute anything of value to the thread since they lacked the basic intelligence to follow exploit instructions properly.

Yes, there is menuhax.

No, you absolutely must mess with sysnand (unless it's already on 9.2) to install any permanent kernel hack to your system.

Yes, you are: It's completely safe. Also, it's "arm9loaderhax (a9lh)"
And finally yes, you will have everything you had when you started and more. "Downgrading" is only part of the 3ds hacking process that eventually gets you to latest firmware with hacks enabled.

I honestly don't care too much about whether or not it's "safe", I mostly just want it to be reversible. Have all old software working on it, games and other stuff included. Without anyone ever even being able to guess that it ever had unofficial software on it.

Installing cfw isn't rocketscience you don't need any sort of intellect for it.
Referring to the guide is the easiest solution to any question, because it answers everything that you need to know. If your question isn't answered by the guide it's unrelated to cfw/homebrew and this general.
The mistake of the person who wants to be spoonfed begins by not realizing that its questions are uncessary. Demanding sympathy for someone who starts out on an error on 4chan.org is unreasonable and unrealistic.

redNand exists only on your SD card, so the failsafe is to swap/format your SD card and basically try again from the beginning, minus the 9.2.0 part.

I have a bunch of CIA games on my PC.
Since it's such a bitch to eject SD from N3DS, I'm thinking about sending them through FTP.

What are the speeds like over FTP on N3DS?
Also which FTP client is the best? I'm using the one that came with the HB starter pack right now, "Super ftpd II Turbo".
>>
>rednand
Why do people use RedNANDs instead of EmuNANDs?
Every guide I see just says that they are essentially the same. So why did people ever go from EmuNANDs to RedNANDs to begin with?

I've mostly stayed with my EmuNAND because it works and I have felt no need to mess with what works. But are RedNANDs better?

So I'm using the title region emulation of Luma3DS to play the US version of Fire Emblem:Awakening and it works great except when I try to access the DLC. I get an error telling me it couldn't detect my SD card, I also can't access the ingame eshop (probably because of the emulated region). Is there a way to make the DLC menu appear at least when I manually install the dlc with a .cia? Awfully specific I think but hopefully still worth asking.

Probably Part 1. Menuhax may still be installed, but you'll be missing all the files and homebrew you need for later anyways, and reinstalling Menuhax is basically just like running an update on it.

>And how do I make sure it formats the entire thing?
Through partition management on Windows.

>I'm sorry if I'm coming across as an idiot, it's late and I'm kinda tired,
Not an idiot, but mark down what point you're at and call it a day. You're getting to the point where it's easy to fuck up and update sysNand to 11.0 if you're not paying attention, and there's another step not long after that will fuck your system right up if you accidentally press literally one wrong button. If you're tired, continue it a different day.

Most recent routers autoswitch to a lower populated channel. If you have an older router that doesn't, the router itself is probably the issue and not the channel.

Don't get me wrong, it definitely COULD help, but unless you're in a high wifi-densisty area the effect will be minimal.

If you do live in say an apartment complex where everyone uses their own router though, then yes, absolute change the channel.

There's a lot of shit in OTP that can fuck you right up, but the only thing that can brick you in one bad button press is downgrading to 2.1.0 when you should be downgrading to 9.2.0. Everything else gives you ample warnings or lots of time to realize you're doing it wrong.

When you install a .cia for anything (except DSiWare), nothing in your sysNand changes. The sysNand you make today will be the exact same as the one you made when you first did a9lh, unless you specifically went out of your way to alter it.

DSiWare is the only exception since it's actually stored in sysNand, but even in that case it's still unrelated to your sd card or the n3ds folder.

Hardly. I've seen better examples of people providing easy setup shit than this.

The first thing that comes to my mind was a virtualbox, with a linux + minimal desktop environment + build environment/script for fetching and compiling the latest version of Open PS2 Loader. And it was less than 100MB, tiny.

No stupid bullshit and running around in circles deciphering instructions and meshing everything together. You boot the vbox, tell it to do its shit, and you're done.

This "local server" is pitiful.

It can boot with an sd card after you reinstall Menuhax.

That specific step you just took has a (large) chance to fuck up the theme menu on the sd card, which prevents you from accessing Menuhax, or even booting with the sd card. Once Menuhax is reinstalled, the theme menu is reinitializes, and it's back to normal

Well, to actually be able to boot it you need to configure it first lol.

Just go back into menuhax_manager and select the configure option (don't remember exactly what it's called but it's the first of the two configure options)

Then select Type 1

Then hold the key you want to use to boot into menuhax, and while holding that key tap the touch screen once.

Voila, now just turn off your 3ds and while booting hold down that key to boot into hb launcher!
