Starbound is far more open-ended. Where in terraria there's kind of a progression and the game is about you following said progression, starbound is more about loosely basing your actions around the inferior progression system while ultimately having far more things to do, but really nothing if you don't want it enough yourself.

Pretty sure you got it the wrong way around. Engineer/Mechanic increases the limit by 10% repeatedly. But every Engineer/mechanic decreases fuel consumption. You stack engineers/mechanics and once you have enough, you never spend fuel to travel, but if you dismiss one once hitting that limit you spend the low cost again until another is hired to bring it back to 0

How is it that Chucklefish devs had the foresight to make lava planet creatures immune to lava, but not the foresight to make procedurally generated structures on lava planets immune to fire? I just had a whole avian town proc aggro on me because I guess they assumed my arrival brought the destroying fire from the skies which shrekt their town.

Each pixel is one block, the color of the pixel determines what kind of block. Primary red means spess (looks empty but can't walk there), yellow is traversable interior, blue means lightsource so the ship image isn't all black. There's also a color for thrusters, pilot seat, teleporter, lights etc. What each color is supposed to represent what is defined in the blockkey.config file.

The thing is, I wouldn't know my gripes with the mod without having downloaded it. Hell, I only downloaded it because this general insists on using it, much to my disagreement but only now do I know exactly how much I dislike it.

If more people played here without FU, I'd jump at the chance to play with them on my vanilla file, or just use the vanilla file and add SBG and the other mods just without FU. I want an alternative to FU, I'd even welcome just a way to remove a ton of the crafting bloat and just carry over the plant genes and liquid interactions because they're really all I like about FU outside of the additional planet types (again, not the content of the planets)

I had an idea for a custom race that was basically the "hardmode" race. They have less health and energy, their hunger degrades faster than other races, their ship is smaller and holds less fuel, so on and so forth.
Casual is too easy, survival is tedious, and hardcore is fucking retarded. Even with itemdrop disabled for survival or hunger enabled for casual, the game just feels too easy.

Building underwater ain't that bad, if anything it's easier since you're floating around and have farther reach.

The only thing you have to worry about is not fuck up on your paterns/backgrounds, because if you do you'll have to replace the block, and if you already drained that area it'll fill completely in less than 10 seconds.

I was investigating a Floran encampment, trying to earn the trust of the natives in hopes that they would share any recipes for traditional floran cuisine that I could adapt for my restaurant, when one of them suddenly declared he 'Wasss mechanic' and forced his way aboard my ship.

I've barricaded myself in the cockpit but I can hear him banging on the engine. I'm terrified he's going to blow the entire ship up, but if I unlock the door, I'll surely be raped, murdered, and eaten.
